Pam + Jim 4EVER

That was perhaps even better than last year's legendary season finale. It started out wonderful with the bit about Creed's blog and Dwight's hotel in hell, and just got better from there.

That was beyond amazing. Talk about your classic slow build; it started off as a usual funny episode then just ratched it up big time. Fan-freakin'-tastic episode. Love the ending!

Just about as perfect as an episode can get. It's a LONG wait through the summer now, though.

I want some Stanley nickels.

The last fifteen seconds was better than the entirety of the series.

Just before it, I was looking forward to next season.

After I saw it, I started building my time machine to get to next season NOW.

Wow. We went from classic Jim-to-Pam "Its a date then" to Ryan-to-Kelly "It's over!"

The whole build-up during Jim's interview, with the note from Pam to the "where do you see yourself in five years" just made it. I could not agree more with every post so far, just...satisfying.

That and him totally losing focus with the note about "Dont forget about us when you're famous" from Pam. Although I think the end for last season was a little bit better...

Does this mean no more Jan? I sure hope not.

When does next season start? BRING. IT. ON.!!!!!

I think it means more Jan.

I liked this better than last year's. Not as heavy-handed as SPEECH OF LOVE and DRAMATIC KISS. The JP stuff is the heart of the show and quite compelling, but I don't like being hit in the face with it. This time they mostly kept the romance as the subtext to the jokes instead of the jokes being the subtext to this great American love story.

I question David's judgment in hiring a former temp still in business school for Jan's position! But I like how Ryan gets promoted every year -- temp to full-time to Jim's job to corporate.

So was this good? Absolutely it was. "Absolutely I do" being perhaps my fave line ever from the show, so its return was a special moment for me. How good was Pam yet again? For this year, it goes 1) Andy 2) Pam, so I hope Halpert doesn't screw up the hilarity of independent Pam. But the show has more than earned the benefit of the doubt.

Either he's gotten his MBA or he did a hell of a job convincing corporate he did. The twist of Ryan now being Michael's boss pretty much guarantees that the 6am breakfast sammich runs, excessive staring and "Ryan Started The Fi-yah" are all about to be paid back.

I enjoyed the finale. There were way too many one liners that were just awesome. I liked Angela's "We're not consolidating power like ancient Rome" line when Dwight asked her about sleeping with the Regional Manager.

I'm concerned, though. TV relationships are generally all about the chase. I worry that, as with Ross & Rachel and Sam & Diane and even Luke & Lorelai the writers will feel the need to break them up to restore some tension to the show. Maybe I'm being forgetful at the moment, but I can't think of any primary couples that were allowed to have their courtship and then a relationship without breaking up and being dramatic about it. I'm hoping that someone can provide an example to prove me wrong. Its just that after 2 1/2 years of rooting for Jim and Pam, I don't want to watch them fall apart.

I loved the exchange with Ryan and Michael when Michael came back asking for his coffee. "I don't do that anymore." My first reaction was 'they're writing BJ Novak out as a character', but JoshMann, you're right, this is only going to be interesting.

I hope we haven't seen the last of Jan.

Are we sure that David was talking to Ryan about the same job that Michael/Jim/Karen were interviewing for? He could be the new "Hunter" or something at corporate. Or the calls might not have even been connected; Ryan could have been talking to someone else. And if he leaves, who is going to be the new webmaster for CreedThoughts?

Anyway, great, great episode. Dwight painting the walls black (after confirming that it was the "best" color), Schrutebucks (after 1000, you get 5 extra minutes for lunch!), Jan's new assets and subsequent flip-out, everything was just great. Except the lack of Toby. Michael selling his condo for 80% of what he paid for it on ebay was classic as well.

As if they didn't own me at Creedthoughts, then they bust out the Schrutebucks! Wow.

I have to agree with BigDaddyLoco, I was not sure it was actually a "date" date, and that maybe Pam took it the wrong way. Either way, it was a cool, realistic way of Jim asking her, not melodramatic like last season's finale was to a degree. His "big Haircut" will take some getting used to, but I guess he needed it for the romantic comedy with Mandy Moore. Poor guy, he deserves better.

After Karen left to hang with her buddies (which sucked), I was expecting Jim to bail out and let Karen have the position by default. I also thought Michael was going to screw around and get fired himself.

Great ending to a great season. They set up TONS of cool story lines for next season.

Something fell a little flat with the episode. It was still as entertaining as usual, with Creed's blog being my personal highlight, but it didn't seem very cohesive or something along those lines. It'll probably seem fine once I get the episode commercial free and watch it again.

The funniest thing about Schrutebucks was that they were full sheets of paper. Every "_____buck" I've seen in my life has been roughly the size of monopoly money. Dwight instead demands the largest reasonably possible size for his currency.

Dwight's interview with Andy was so fast I missed most of it from laughing at the first few parts. I get that alot with this show.

Ryan the Boss is going to be awesome.

Lloyd: When I met Mary, I got that old fashioned romantic feeling, where I'd do anything to bone her.
Harry: That's a special feeling.
