I agree with all of your picks except for Ron Hunt, whom I've never even heard of. He must've played for 'em before the early 80's, when I first started to pay any attention to any players who weren't current or former Reds.
Just like any All Star Team has backups, I suggest:
OF Moises Alou OF Larry Walker SP Dennis Martinez INF Mike Mordecai (okay, I'm kidding about that one)
Of my serious suggestions, two gained their greatest fame and success after leaving Montreal but were still damn good there (Alou and Walker). The other one was just as good in Montreal as he was for other teams before and after his time as an Expo. Still, all three were good enough while Expos to make the team, in my opinion.
Agreed with the additions of Walker and Martinez....Alou the outfielder is overrated. Alou the coach should be mentione don this all time great team though =)
I just graduated from TV-Broadcasting. An educated redneck? WHAT?!
my vote for 3rd base would go to tim wallach. i have no idea what steve rodgers and dennis martinez numbers were on les expos, but even though it was for only for 4 years, i think pedro deserves some consideration as well.
Marge: Mr. Scorpio, this house is almost too good for us. I keep expecting to get the bums rush. Scorpio: We don't have bums in our town, Marge, and if we did, they wouldn't rush, they'd be allowed to go at their own pace.
C - Gary Carter 1B - Andres Galarraga 2B - Rusty Staub 3B - Tim Wallach SS - No clue OF - Tim Raines OF - Larry Walker OF - Vladmir Guerrero OF - (just because he deserves it) Andre Dawson SP - Pedro Martinez (I know Steve Rogers lasted longer...but he's no Pedro) RP - John Wetteland
i think cordero looks like the best option for shortstop, which obviously isn't saying much.

If you're talking about great players who were at one time Expos, don't forget the Unit, even though he was only mediocre there.
Ron Hunt is probably best remembered for holding (still?) the record for number of times HBP. I want to say 52 times in one season, but I could be wrong.
Then I can write a washing bill in Babylonic cuneiform, And tell you every detail of Caractacus's uniform; In short, in matters vegetable, animal, and mineral, I am the very model of a modern Major-General.

I'd probably put Grudzielanek ahead of Cordero myself. As for Ron Hunt, I really haven't heard of him, so if anyone could fill me in on some of his career statistics, outside of HBP (50? Yeowtch.), I'd appreciate it - I was thinking Jose Vidro, but he probably hasn't been around long enough to merit consideration. DeShields is a good pick too, I'd probably rate him over Hunt simply because I kind of remember him when he played for the 'Spos. Also, are we talking while they were an Expo, or are we including after they left?
Off-topic, but going back to the Harry Caray comment, I once remember him calling the Mets' 1B Mark Grace (don't remember who the first baseman for the Mets was at the time, but it was the 9th and Harry didn't remember either, so I don't feel too bad).
pedro did win a cy young and was an allstar twice in only 4 years while rogers won zero cy youngs (although did lead the league in era once) and 5 allstars in 13 years. if it's going to be based on cumulative stats, then i guess rogers is better. but IMO it should be based on how productive the player was in the period of time they played (within reason).

My only real complaint with that list is the omission of Tim Wallach at 3B. He held a bunch of single-season team records until Vlad smashed them all, was a 3-time All-Star and 5-time Gold Glove.
Q: If you could have interviewed Marvin Gaye, where would you have proposed to meet and what would you have asked him?
A: I would have met anywhere as long as it was before his father shot him. I would have asked him, "Hey, don't you think there's some chance that your father might shoot you? To death, I mean?"
What?? No Coco Laboy? Shortstop really is a black hole for the Expos, no? Spike Owen? Bobby Wine? When Tim Foli really is the best you've had, that reeks.
He's Rolie Polie Olie - and in his world of curves and curls, he's the swellest kid around.
Argh! I can't believe I forgot Tim Wallach or Pedro. For some reason, I'd completely forgotten the latter's years in Montreal and "remembered" him going straight from the Dodgers to the BoSox.
Otis Nixon still holds the record for most stolen bases in fewest at bats - and I still have the LA Times blurb covering it. Oh, and also the time he stole six bases against the Braves, that ruled. Man Otis Nixon is the greatest ever. Must have been all that COKE he was sniffing...
I sure dug Bryn Smith - or was it Zane Smith? NO NO it was Oil Can Boyd AHHH
I'm pretty much with Fame's list except of course it needs Wallach - and MAYBE Wetteland as the closer. Also, Dennis Martinez and Mark Gardner get special luv from me for Gardner's nine no-hit innings (he lost in the tenth) followed the next day by EL PERFECTO and boy were the Dodgers happy to be in town for THAT series. (Disclaimer: I may be totally misremembering this since I stopped watching baseball "for real" after the strike broke my heart - but I still proudly model my collection of "beanie" Expos caps when it isn't basketball season)
Even though he wasn't there that long, I'll throw out Al Oliver at 1B...Scoop DID win a batting title in MTL.

They could set it up like the NBA sets up their cap. They have a minimum amount that teams must have their payroll at when they start the season. I believe the minimum payroll amount for an NBA team is 75% of the cap.
