Here's the results and some of my thoughts from seeing the show live last night:

Irish Airborne beat Shane Hagadorn & Keith Walker, good opener, this is the 2nd time I've seen IA live and I'm very impressed with their work. Expect to see them on more shows (not just midwest ones) and facing off in higher profile matches against the embassy, the briscoes, etc.

Nigel McGuiness beat Conrad Kennedy III (CK3) to retain the pure title, like IA, CK3 hasn't been on that many ROH shows yet, but I'm digging his matwork and I thought he could hang with Nigel just fine. Match was way too short since I was getting into it and then ended with Nigel's "tower of london" for the pin.

The Briscoes beat Colt Cabana & Ace Steel, decent tag match here, nice to see the Briscoes in Detroit for ROH for the 1st time! The spike Jay-driller finisher for the Briscoes is just sick.

Delirious beat Jimmy Rave, Davey Richards & Samoa Joe in four corner survival, Richards is new to ROH and already has two wins over Rave from the previous weeks shows. However, all I could say was "welcome to ROH, kid" as each of the other wreslers got tagged in to give Richards a good beat down. Cool to see Delirious pick up the win. After, a fan shoved Delirious when he was making his way to the back and he broke character to yell at the fan. It was nice to see that during intermission that security escorted the fan out.

After intermission, CZW's Claudio Castognoli and Necro Butcher came out to cut a promo on Detroit and ROH. Adam Pearce hits the ring which lead to...

Adam Pearce beat Necro when Necro got DQed when Claudio interferred in the match, this match was a brawl that was in the other side of the ring from me so I couldn't see it...hope it turns out on DVD. The DQ brought us to...

Homicide beat Claudio, this was better for my viewing pleasure as they stayed in the ring and ringside area and didn't go into the crowd. Some cool spots using the metal ROH guardrails.

American Dragon beat BJ Whitmer & Jimmy Jacobs in a 3-way elimination matchup for the ROH title. Last weekend, Jacobs & Whitmer did a sick spot where Whitmer powerbombed Jacobs off the top rope and into the crowd! Well, they teased that again last night but it (thankfully for their sakes) didn't happen. Super hurricarana almost defeated the champ but shortly after that a super sliced bread #2 (with Dragon sitting on the top turnbuckle and Whitmer on his shoulders!) eliminated Whitmer from the match. Dragon brutalized Jacobs as the crowd got more and more behind their "home town emo hero". Couple of near falls for Jacobs lead to Dragon giving him repeated elbow strikes to the head and then a cross-faced chicken wing to retain the title as Jacobs passed out.

Main event saw KENTA beat Roderick Strong. Really awesome match, it might be because I saw it live but this might even be better than KENTA vs Low Ki from Final Battle 2005. This match was incredibly stiff with Roderick's chops and KENTA's kicks. Crowd was very much into KENTA even though this was his first time ever in Detroit, great to see that the crowd knew what was up! KENTA wins with his "go to sleep", fireman's carry into a nasty-looking knee strike which knocked Roderick silly. KENTA now holds two wins over American Dragon, a win over Low Ki and a win over Roderick in his four ROH matchups. Tonight he faces Austin Aries in Chicago.

Good show overall, not as awesome as Dragon Gate Challenge from last time in Detroit but that show may never be topped in my mind. Disappointed at the lack of Austin Aries and Alex Shelley but I guess they had prior engagements...

Also, I felt the crowd wasn't as into this show as the last one and that the crowd in Cleveland for Weekend of Champions was better then us Detroiters could do, sadly.

It sounds like a great show especially for the last two matches. Though I am getting tired of how Danielson and the world title are constantly pushed out of the main event spot. I get that KENTA is amazing and great and everything, but Danielson is the world champion of the company and represents them and what they are about a lot more.

I just wonder what the final match tonight will be. Since it's Chicago and Cabana is wrestling for the world title in his hometown, I feel it HAS to be Danielson/Cabana.

Bret and Shawn had a ladder match back in '92. It's on Coliseum Videos Smack'em Whack'em tape. There were talks of doing a Bret v Shawn ladder match at Summerslam 92, but since this was in England, they went with Bret vs Davey Boy instead.
