It's time to WAKE UP! We have RAW live from Las Vegas. Anybody want to take a gamble?

Opening: We have Vince basically want HHH to publicly apologize for hitting Shane last week with a sledge hammer. Afterwords we have the official opening to the show and the ring is all in red. Out comes Mick Foley in a SUIT! Mick cleans up nice for being sort of heel. He's making a promo as a bad guy saying he's a good guy but he's bad. He sure does in a nice way. So he gets a cheap pop and tells Edge to come. What's under the red case why it's the hardcore championship and he wants to unretire the strap. Well, he gives Edge the belt. Edge gives the belt back to him. So Mick proposes a match. Edge says why don't we co-holders. ECW Music and Paul E. Heyman! There we go Paul Heyman lighting up the crowd. Heyman getting to the point calls Mick a shell of his former self. Whoa...this is Extreme as Paul Heyman says "Lita is the only one with "nuts" in the ring". Well, that pisses off Edge and he says he's take on anyone Paul wants them to. He'll do it now. So they come up the ramp and Paul introduces there opponents. Tommy Dreamer and Terry Funk. Who proceed to beat the crap out of Mick and Edge and Chase them off.

***AD BREAK***

Unlimited: Sign of the night. Cena chain gang sign he has his followers.

We're Back: Out comes RVD and he's getting a rematch against Shelton. RVD getting the early advantage with his educated feet. Going for the rolling thunder and Shelton roles out the outside as we have a run in by an AD BREAK.

Unlimited: RVD Works over Shelton in the corner and attempt, by Shelton, for a 2 count. Shelton takes control of the match with punches and a back breaker leading to a sleeper hold/chin lock. RVD fights his way up and attempts to charge Shelton in the corner but is reversed. Shelton with another pin attempt for a 2 count. Old fashioned, by Shelton, elbow drop to end the segment online.

We're Back: Shelton in has RVD in a chin lock when we get back to the TV side of the program. RVD attempts a suplex and Shelton reverses into neck breaker. Back to the chin lock...is RVD out of shape tonight? Really working the chin lock tonight on RVD. Shelton charges RVD in the corner and moves with Shelton hitting the turnbuckle. RVD comebacks with clotheslines an kick to face. Rolling THUNDER after a pin attempt by RVD. Near falls every where. Samoan drop takes out the ref...heelish tactics to follow. Shelton grabs the belt. RVD DQ'ed by the Van Daminator! In the back Vince is talking to ZZ Top?!? Ok, he reminds us 7 years ago he won the WWF(E) title by beating HHH. Can you smell the DX in the air? ***AD BREAK***

Unlimited: Maria and her new music...I miss her old generic theme. That's what P2P is for. KISS CAM.

We're Back: Review of Shane dying by a sledge hammer or at least the way they've dramatized it. Here come Vinny Mac and no doubt he's calling out HHH. Yep...after finally calling him out three times HHH out to the KOK music. HHH doesn't look to happy. Is there a trigger hidden in this promo? I think there is in Vinny's wording. Lets see if HHH is getting fed up with Vince.

Transcribed: HHH: Two words?!? You want two words?!? That works out great because I've got two words for you. I'm sorry.

We'll I was really hopping for what the fans were in the arena as the DX chant were heard. Well they come to an "understand" or foreshadowing in this case. ***AD BREAK***

Unlimited: Master cuts a promo saying Cena has a better chance to win a million dollar jackpot in Vegas than to break the Masterlock.

We're Back: They talk about "See No Evil" the Kane movie where he kills people. He explains what happened on May 19th and at least it wasn't that was the night Katie Vick died from his car wreck. Thank you WWE. We move on and out comes Masters. Now out comes John Cena the controversial champion. They start off slow and build to Masters trying to lock in the Masterlock early and they both tumble the outside as an AD BREAK runs in.

Unlimited: Jeez a Cena chant as we pick up the action and Master puts Cena down to attempt a pin. Side slam by Masters and another 2 count. Masters aggressive in trying to get the win.

We're Back: Whoa two moves later and out of no where Cena slaps on a STFU and Masters taps out quickly. Out comes RVD who give a fair promo saying I'm cashing in the MITB contract for June 11th ECW One Night Stand. They come to blows and Cena gets the upper hand. Yet Masters interferes and RVD set up Cena for the Van Daminator in which he they mainly blew. One of the worst ones I've seen. RVD walks up the ramp to a mixed reaction.***AD BREAK***

Unlimited: Highlights of last years ECW: ONS.

We're Back: Carlito has a plan to win big bucks with Maria and Snitsky has date with a showgirl. Maria see the showgirl who ends up being Goldust. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. That's defiantly not COOL as Carlito said. HBK confronts HHH on his actions and HHH doesn't care what anybody thinks.

Unlimited: Trevor Murdoch comes out and gets the WHAT chant to his promo on movies.

We're Back: Continuing on movies and HELL FIRE AND BRIMSTONE it's Kane! Two hits on Kane and a big boot by Kane. Well that was quick...with Chokeslam to Hell it's OVER! 1...2...3! What the crowd chanting one more time Chokeslam. Wow...I don't want to be Trevor Murdoch right now. Vegas has put Kane over. Wait his old mask show up...why am I thinking they're going to do a Kane vs Kane thing like they did with Undertaker? Wait we find out it's really Big Show behind all this. Man there better be a darn good pay off to this. ***AD BREAK***

Unlimited: King talking about ONS because he couldn't stand ECW. Watch the Rise/Fall DVD if you haven't watched it you're about year or more behind.

We're Back: Torrie Wilson is out to take on Micky James. Well that was bit sloppy a match and I didn't even type it because I was trying to catch up. Exactly like last week Beth attacks Micky at least there is something developing with the womens story. Trish is so heel setting up Micky twice in two weeks. ***AD BREAK***

Unlimited: Viscera is out as the worlds "LARGEST" love machine. Dear to think of that thought makes me cringe.

We're Back: No way...Lillian and Vis again? Umm...Vis making sound like a freaking PORNO! Lillian has memory...she's been watching the show. Cheeseburger?!? From under his robe from what I might add. Lillian say NO! SAY NO! FOR the LOVE OF GOD AND EVERYTHING THAT'S HOLY SAY NO! Thank you Estrada! And the fans liked saying that. Uno Problema...One Problem. UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMAAAGGAAAA! Not an official match...man the night I pick, for anyone actually reading this it started today, him for fantasy and he's not in a match. WWE mother F**KS! We go to the back and see the Spirit Squad want to cheer with HHH. He wants no part of it. ***AD BREAK***

Unlimited: Trivia...bother these people are bombing out to win shirts. NO ONE WON! Never book that arena again.

We're Back: Out comes the Spirit Squad the new Monday Night fixture. I like the new tramoline entrances. Airhorns too...and out comes HBK to face 5 on one with the possiblity of HHH ending him once and for all. Vince gets rid of the ref and it's a beating for HBK. HBK attempting to fight back. Jim Ross calling them the seven dwarfs. Nice...Vince enjoying it. HBK fights them all off and delivers an elbow drop with some Sweet chin music before the Squad regains control of HBK. The fans are chanting for HHH. You know I never thought I'd hear that again. They're going for the knee shattering. They did it. Vince finally calls for HHH to put away HBK. HHH in the ring and Kenny grabs the hammer from HHH because the fans are chanting DX. HHH doesn't like he took sledgy. Las Vegas ERUPTS as HHH dismantles the Spirit Squad. Vince stunned and we get the logo and fade to black.

Enjoyable...it felt good so what kind of vibe did you all get?

Really solid episode of RAW. For the first time in a long time I popped at the end and was left wanting just a little bit more.

Will we be seeing the return of Kane's mask? How dey gonna 'splain dat one?

I was in and out between Red Sox/Yankees and the second half of Spurs/Mavericks.
Edge's career really has taken off recently. In the span of a few months he has gone from champion, to in the championship mix, to a tag team match against Terry Funk, whose prime was late Ford/early Carter administration, and Tommy Dreamer, who was a jobber on Sunday Night Heat before fading away. Foley now does have an out on his eventual face turn, he can claim he turned heel to trick Edge into derailing his own career.
It has been over a decade, could someone teach RVD how to cut a mediocre promo? Each time he grabs the mic, he makes Benoit sound like the perfect combination of Arn Anderson and Ric Flair. And, teasing RVD as a heel against Cena? Why? He's the face against Cena at the PPV, why screw with the crowd reaction.
Kane to ECW perhaps? He would fit in with the Sci-Fi network, and they finally could justify any of his crap as Sci-Fi.
When in Vegas they really need RAW Roulette.
When Eric Bischoff starts resembling the Good Old Days, it really is a sign Vince needs to go on a sabbatical from his on air role.

That beatdown at the end could have used about five less minutes, but other than that it was pretty good. Lots of good stuff from the supporting cast this week, and hell, even RVD was on point with a promo! There's a first time for everything!

I dug the ECW segment once again. Foley amped it up a little on the mic, which helped. And it was good to see Heyman back out there. I was surprised by the lack of an angle to bring back ONS- Heyman just mentioned it in passing like it was common knowledge to everyone....Benjamin/RVD was sloppy in spots, and disappointing overall....

Triple H's "two words" set-up during his interview with Vince was a nice touch....Cena/Masters was okay, but RVD's interview was much better than his usual fare....The Snitsky/Carlito/Goldust segment seemed out-of-place....I'm semi-interested in seeing where they go with the continuation of the May 19th stuff....Torrie/Mickie wasn't very good....

I loved Big Vis pulling a cheeseburger out of his wardrobe. And Estrada is growing on me. Umaga, not so much....The main event was okay, but I'm suffering a bit from Spirit Squad overkill. They really seem to be going with the slow burn for the Trips/HBK reunion.

I have this overwhelming fear that Shawn is gonna come out in a couple of week with Hunter and be all "WE GOT TWO WORDS FOR YA...... PRAISE JESUS!" It keeps me up at nights.

MVP of RAW this week has to be Gene Snitsky. The unborn fetus line was awesome.

Agreed.....and Goldust's reaction to Gene was pretty funny too.

Another hilarious moment was the look Triple-H gave the Spirit Squad when they wanted him to put his hand in for their cheer.

Did Mickie look a little bloated tonite ?

Judging by last night's reaction to both, you're not the only one. I was completely taken aback when Estrada came out and the crowd recited his name along with him, then was totally underwhelmed by the reaction (or complete and utter lack thereof) for Umaga. Estrada's character has a lot of potential to be entertaining, and at this point it's good that they're using him as a mouthpiece for someone else...however, at this point, it just doesn't look like Umaga's going to get over with that character no matter how many times they have him come out and do squash matches.

I thought RAW was the most entertaining its been in quite some time. Agreed with Goon, that line from Snitsky was (Chavo) classic. And Carlito's hanging out with Maria, which of course means OMG CM PUNK'S GONNA FIGHT HIM FOR HIS GIRLFRIEND (note - not really).

The promo from RVD wasn't the worst he's ever done, but I still wouldn't categorize it as good. The mediocre promo, however, was still a lot better than that botched Van Daminator to Cena with the briefcase. That being said, it seems like Cena's getting less and less face time and becoming even more of an afterthought than I thought he would be. You know, it's nice that they want to sell dX t-shirts and all, but they shouldn't push the angle at the expense of the world champion falling into a secondary (or even tertiary) program.

Paul Heyman is absolutely brilliant when cutting a promo. I always forget just how good he is until they dust him off.

All in all, very very good RAW. That being said, they haven't done too much to really entice me to see the ECW pay-per-view. Hopefully in the coming weeks they'll do more than have Tommy Dreamer swing a cane and Terry Funk wobble around like he's desperately in need of one.

Oh, and Harry Smith is supposedly debuting on TV in two weeks...don't you think they would've done a couple vignettes for him at this point?

I liked this RAW a lot.

The slow build to Vengeance is well done as circumstances nudge Hunter into face territory without an overt face action. He's still the same guy but finds himself chafing under Vince's leash.

Cena is nowhere near the main story these days, to my surprise, and yet he quickly punked Masters in a non-title match. Masters has got to get some new momentum. And where was Striker to build off his burial of Eugene?

The Umaga push is growing on me, but I hate Estrada. He's doing nothing but mugging for the camera and rolling his Rs.

I've never seen someone DDT a leg before, but that looked good.

Next crossover PPV, they absolutely must do a scene where Armando Alejandro Estrada meets Mr. Kennedy.

Is it just me, or is Torrie actually starting to flirt with competence in the ring?

While I realize that the probable/anticipated DX event won't happen until the PPV, the end of the show, to me, was a disappointment - did nothing for me. The beatdown was way too excessive, as Excaliber noted, and does the chair-on-the-leg thing mean that HBK will be out of action?

Just like the Spirit Squad annoyed me incredibly before I started digging them, Estrada is doing the same. The accented "Ha ha ha" keeps popping into my head this morning, and I have no doubt that I will be sitting at my desk and saying it aloud within the next few hours.

I should have added 2+2 and gotten 4, but I totally wasn't expecting to see Funk and Dreamer come out with Heyman. Maybe I was hoping for two guys out of the blue that I enjoy, however unrealistic that would have been.....I would order the PPV right now if Edge and Foley were going to face Norman Smiley and Disco Inferno.

That's the WCW reunion PPV that will never happen b/c TNA is busy doing at least 1/5 of its PPVs every month as a WCW tribute,

I popped for Heyman's appearance, he's always gold on the mic. I still cant believe they took SmackDown away from him. I was disappointed when Funk & Dreamer came out though (Did any one else catch Funk lose his balance & almost fall down the entrance ramp?). I dont know about Disco & Smiley though, I was thinking maybe Sandman & Dreamer or Sandman & Sabu maybe (Did WWE pick up Sabu? I forget).

They're no-so-good at selling major long-term injuries (Edge and Foley traded one-man-conchairtos like they were DDTs), but if I was a-bookin', I would keep Shawn off of TV for a couple weeks to keep he and the now-face Triple H apart for longer to continue to build to their being together on the same page.

That dude rules. Talking in Spanish is a cool thing and talking like Ric Flair, ha ha, is a cool thing, so what's cooler than talking like a Spanish Ric Flair.

Pretty sure that was the planned finished; it just looked really awkward. But it set up Van Dam feeling wronged in title matches so he wanted his world title shot on his terms.
