Brock Lesnar and WWE have reached a settlement agreement on the non-compete lawsuit.
Lesnar was looking to get out of his non-compete for anything related to sports entertainment as well as ultimate fighting through the year 2010, world wide.
Terms were not announced. Lesnar will be able to participate in wrestling and ultimate fighting with certain agreed upon restrictions, as it was not a full victory to Lesnar. While not stated, it is believed he would not be allowed to work for TNA. Lesnar is said to be considering doing MMA, now that he is legally able.
Not sure that this means TNA will get him; he's still going to want a big price.

I wouldn't be surprised if McMahon and company put a block in the settlement on him working for any US promotion with the exception of MMA organizations such as the UFC...and even then, I could still see them trying to prevent that from happening.
Let the "BROCK'S COMING BACK" rumors and speculation begin...

Are you considering his Japan run a "failure?" I think he's made a buttload of money doing that - definitely more than he was worth to .... argh, who'd he work for again? (looks it up) New Japan? (looks it up again) Hey he's still working for them, actually and is still the IWGP champeen!

He was IWGP champ, last I heard.
"To be the man, you gotta beat demands." -- The Lovely Mrs. Tracker
I have a lot more respect for the IWGP champ than any belt in WWE, because it usually goes on a guy that deserves it, and can get it done in the ring. It is a belt that is still a wrestling title, not sports entertainment title. And if Brock can never wrestle in the US again, he will still retire a wealthy man, without working nearly as many dates in Japan.
The only reason you're not unconscious, is because I don't want to carry you.
If he is allowed to fight US MMA, UFC will get him. They've proven they're not above stunt booking, and they could probably sell out a large staduim with Brock's first match.
I'd buy that PPV, provided they don't put him in with some ham 'n' egger, like the San Diego guys did with Puder.
The way I see it, it looks like that he's not allowed to wrestle in the US, so he may be stuck wrestling in Japan for a few years.
I wonder what he would say if he did a shoot interview.

I'd consider the NFL career that started this whole mess a failure. Throw in a couple of nice, solid ass-kickings in MMA, and he'll be glad to return to a "sport" where the big, muscular guy really does (nearly) always win.
This will get added at the end of each post you make, below an horizontal line. This should preferably be kept to a small enough size.

If there is a "no TNA" clause in the settlement, I'd think that would indicate that Brock wouldn't be interested in TNA even if he were allowed to go there. He's fought tooth and nail for Japan and MMA, so he wouldn't give up on this if it meant much to him.

You know...I don't see how you could think that. Obviously, you're entitled to your opinion, but if I recall correctly...Brock Lesnar IS a NCAA Heavyweight wrestling champion from quality, INTENSE program (U of Minn), and 6'4" and 260-some pounds.
I honestly don't think he'd get his butt kicked THAT much. He may not win every match...but he certainly wouldn't have his ass handed to him.
Besides, I don't know how he'd do any better or worse than Kurt Angle in MMA.
It's just a message board, people. Chill out. Now, go show your internet diapproval of me! YEA!
The UFC could really use Brock, but he'd need a year or so of intense training before he is really ready. The HW division is seriously lacking, and very few people in the world have more potential than Lesnar.
He'd have to work on his submission defense most because a lot of wrestlers get caught in subs since they are so damned cocky. But once he got on top of someone on the ground he could lay down some mean Mark Coleman style Ground and Pound.
Oh and if Kurt Angle had been in MMA from the start, he woulda been f'ing amazing.

Nah, I meant the NFL as his first failure. NJPW's probably besides the point - he's probably getting paid well, but he's not working there much. If Brock were to fail in MMA, he probably wouldn't be getting the good money from NJPW and if he succeeds in MMA, NJPW probably isn't worth the troube/punishment.

I could see UFC throwing him up against Kimo. You have size on size, and Kimo's gotten older.
That is to say if Brock is egotistical enough to compete. He's big, strong, and a proven physical phenomenon, but MMA is harder than the NFL.

Brock didn't fail at the NFL because it was too hard. Brock failed because at his age, no one was willing to invest the time it would take to teach him the intricacies of the sport. Brock had the physical tools, he just didn't know the details. Brock's already a champion amateur wrestler. The learning curve required for him to move to MMA isn't as steep. I don't know if he'll be great at it, but he should at least be good.
Kimo's not going to get invited back after his last time at 48 failing a roid's screening. Despite those roids he got KOed in the first round (I think) by a brutal Ken Shamrock knee.
Speaking of Brock, I was watching one of his Japan matches on YouTube last night. Is that a tattoo of a sword that runs from his stomach up to his throat? That's gotta be one of the weirdest ones I've ever seen.
If ever a situation called for the return of Tank Abbott, it would be Brock Lesnar doing MMA. A horribly unskilled opponent with a name people still remember would be a perfect opponent for Lesnar and would probably draw some huge #'s for Zuffa, especially on an PPV with no other big "name" fight but some good fights that the hardcore MMA fans will tune in for.

It's pretty strange. More like a dagger than a sword, though. pic

Raven has one, and to a lesser extent, Scott Steiner too. Upon further review, and a good pic, Steiner has a cross in his heart, not a sword. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_Steiner

Okay, awesome. Thanks! I was somehow thinking that he was being compared to a lil piece of gold, and that made him all peeved, so I was quite confused. -eocs
