According to WWE.com, it's over a road rage incident that happened in North Carolina last week. I wonder if his road rage is anything like his "crazy old man" schtick.
Happen to be working here in Charlotte this week and the local stations are running this as the second or third story on the news.
Apparently Ric kicked and choked a guy in very heavy traffic on the SE side of town (and traffic is VERY bad there in the good times). During the story on the station I am watching now they showed some Georgia Championship Wrestling clips with Ric going against Magnum TA.
According to the story, Ric is out of town. Of course, we know he's in the hospital with the 42" Plasma TV. :)
We'll be back right after order has been restored here in the Omni Center.

Could you imagine driving by THAT scene?
"Is that Ric Flair beating up somebody by his car?"
After reading Flair's description of his driving exploits, perhaps North Carolina would be a much safer place if he had his drivers license permanently revoked. And, kicked and choked? No chops or Flair flops? Not even a cross knee breaker? Disappointing.

As I also wondered when WWE.com mentioned Eugene's drug-related suspension, I honestly wonder why in the world WWE would post something, on their website, that portrays one of their popular superstars in a negative light. Maybe it's so that they can exercise more control over the news, but they're making it more of a story, accessible to more people, by confirming it on their website.
I daresay more wrestling fans know where WWE's official website is than, say, how to find Online Onslaught or Scott Keith.

Maybe it's just to send a message to all the WWE personel that any negative behavior displayed on their part will be posted on the WWE website as a form of embarrassment to them.

The WWE has to make some of statement before its accused of covering up the incident.
An update: I watched the ABC station's 11PM news here tonight in Charlotte and no mention of Ric's turning himself in. I was bummed. I was hoping for an old Ric Vs Dusty clip under the story.

Maybe this is just me, but I am wondering what kind of reaction that this guy's friends and neighbours are giving him. Because personally if I was being choked by Ric Flair, my personal reaction would be well, "Glrrrrkkk, can't breathe" but after that... "Man, I'm being choked out by Ric Flair, this is so cool." and then some more "Gllllrrrrk, can't breathe."
Still, I wonder how many times this guy is going to run into a reaction like mine.
"You were choked out by Ric Flair, cool."
"Wait... You're CHARGING RIC FLAIR with ASSAULT!?! Are you INSANE?"
Again, reporting from Charlotte (and my last report - I am in the airport waiting for the plane).
The TV stations here are all reporting on a bunch of family (husband wife) problems, including abuse between Ric and his wife. It's possible it is old news, I don't know. But it is very interesting to me that this is the second or third news story on the evening news shows here. Does Hulk By Gawd Hogan (Whoooo) get this kind of coverage is Tampa?

I agree 100%. Hell, if it had been me when I saw him I would have probably got out and either hugged him (in a manly way of course) or shook his hand. I would at least have tried to score an autograph. I'd even settle out of court, but he'd have to play a round of golf with me and sign my Flair DVD set.
