Marge: Mr. Scorpio, this house is almost too good for us. I keep expecting to get the bums rush.
Scorpio: We don't have bums in our town, Marge, and if we did, they wouldn't rush, they'd be allowed to go at their own pace.
You freakin' Canadiens fans can enjoy it while you can. The Bruins will be absolutely crushing you little girlie men shortly. The first 7 minutes of the game was when the Bruins were taking it to the Habs but the refs saw fit to call every check a penalty. Sleep well, my little Canadien fan friend, it will be over after this round for you!

Hot goalies and motivated teams win championships.
The Bruins haven't had both at the same time for, oh, say, half a century
Bruins fans, this is not your year. Maybe next year when Thornton's completely healthy and they've got a 'tender who can get hot. Until then, us Montreal fans will do our part to enjoy the second round for you...
DaFoe has been pretty good this year and Theodore was not tested last night. I certainly don't want to denigrate all Candiens fans, but your time is not now.
Now, your point about half a century. The Bruins won the cup in 1970 and 1972 (only 30 years ago, bucko). And they have been in the finals in 1990, 1988, 1978, 1977 and 1974. Certainly nothing like the Canadiens over the last 30 years, but a far sight better than most teams!
Game on!

30 years, 50 years, if it happened before I was born it's long enough ago that I don't have to be exact
And when I say hot goalie, I mean a guy who can look like Gawd(tm) for 20 or 25 games (preferably in the playoffs). Think Steve Penney in 1986 (though he never amounted to much afterwards), or Patrick Roy in 1988. Or Hasek, Brodeur, or Belfour. I've just never really heard Byron Dafoe's name in that kind of company. Theodore, on the other hand, has shown that he can get ridiculously hot, and on more than one occasion.
And I agree, it's not Montreal's year to win it all (though I said that in 94...). But we'll sure as hell take out the Bruins in round 1 :)
Habs all the way, Boston played a really good game, but Montreal played a great game. Doug Gilmour will lead them all the way if he has too. what was up with Dafoe?, he was brutal
The Keg isn't exactly the Forum but could it be that the spirit of Ken Dryden has found a home in Jose Theodore ? Montreal will ride the wave for 6 games but I see the Bruins winning in 7

So, how many games will McLaren be suspended for his awe-inspiring display of intelligence? I'm guessing they'll go the Tie Domi 2001 route on this one. Rest of the playoffs, with some games next season should the Bruins get bumped.
Granted, Odjick's facewash of Stock was just as childish.
Q: If you could have interviewed Marvin Gaye, where would you have proposed to meet and what would you have asked him?
A: I would have met anywhere as long as it was before his father shot him. I would have asked him, "Hey, don't you think there's some chance that your father might shoot you? To death, I mean?"
I'll agree that McLaren will probably be suspended, but I don't think his hit was as bad as what Domi did. While the Boston fan in me was waiting for the Bruins to stop taking the cheap shots from the Habs (I'm still amazed about the sucker punch in Sunday's game) using the elbow was too much.
It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at the man.
Horrible play by McLaren. I agree with lenghty suspension. Therrien's comments though after the game were just as stupid.
"McLaren went after our best player. Wait until you see what we do on Saturday. We're gonna go after their best player. I don't care what my comments escalate. It will be a war on Saturday."
Try winning games, dumbass, that might stop the Bruins.
Joe Thornton's comment in response was GOLD -
"If they come at me on Saturday, so may it be," Boston center Joe Thornton said. "I'm a big guy and I can take care of myself."

Ugly shot by McLaren - Domi's suspension amounted to 8 games and will probably be used as a starting point for McLaren. Montreal needs to focus on winning the next game - not channeling the fighting spirit of Chris Nilan.....

I'm still trying to understand the similarities between an open ice hit (no matter how dirty) and cross checking somebody from behind into the boards. Whether the McLaren hit was dirty or not, you cannot assume there was an intent to injur. The two were skating up ice and McLaren just turned and drilled Zednik with a bad hit, it was not like he was slowly skating up ice and waiting for a chance to take Zednik out. Now, I am not trying to totally defend McLaren, because what he did was stupid, but you cannot compare what he did to what Domi did last year. If McLaren gets as much, or more, of a punishment that Domi got it will be in poor judgement by the NHL Offices.
It takes a big man to cry, but it takes a bigger man to laugh at the man.
i thought it was also a classy move by chad kilger, who tried to spear one of the b's defensemen the faceoff after zednik's injury.

Holy lord...the Habs are outshot 44-13, but still win. If they win this series, Jose Theodore is going to have a statue erected in front of the Molson Centre.
I was born in a manger, like that other guy. You know, he wore a hat?
