Yep, and still Tazz will say, 'Remember you can only see the Cruiserweights right here on Smackdown'.

OK, you got Batista, are you going to crow over the rest ?

This is no slight on you, but that opinion is either riduclous or uninformed.

I'm guessing the second, as most people skip Velocity. But if you don't you'd know Akio worked his ass off. He just had to do it on Saturday Nights or in the DARK.

Innovation was the name of the game in that series with London. There were no finishers attempted, completed or countered in the first two matches of that. Just two frenemies going at it til one guy couldn't move.

Oh and fuck them for firing Spike too.

I post a new comic strip every Monday AND Friday. Please read kind sir.

My takes on the releases:

Jindrak: I guess the Angle rub doesn't mean anything: Raines and Jindrak both were Angle stable mates, both are gone. Just sad.

Spike: I didn't see this coming; he could have done some INCREDIBLE things with the cruiserweight division that I swear doesn't exist anymore.

Akio: Sorry to see you go; there's always Japan. Maybe you can find your voice there, since we never heard it here.

Gangrel: That was unexpected. Who really knew he was signed to the roster after the cameo appearence? I mean, he can't work any other gimmick due to the teeth, but still...who doesn't like goth wrestlers?

Kidman: So much for eventually seeing Hogan/Kidman II. Yes, I'm being sarcastic. I liked Kidman/London as a team, though. They reminded me of the Rockers in their heyday.

Maven: He and Spike were schoolteachers years ago, I guess they can always fall back on that occupation. Best of luck to them. I'm still trying to find Maven's theme music on CD, though.

Fertig: I still stand by my original though: I thought his WWE "Mordecai" gimmick was awesome; I just wish it were handled differently. I wonder if I can petition the WWE to sell me the staff he carried to the ring. I'd pay good cash money for it.

I normally don't swear in these forums, and I keep my bad language to a virtual minimum in the real world, but I'll put those to the side when I say this: FUCK YOU, WWE for releasing the cruiserweights in the bunch.

...and as a side note, Mark Henry and Christopher Nowinsky are sitting at home, laying back, doing nothing, and getting paid for it; Hogan is gobbling up the limelight that should be given to newer superstars, and we're subjected to the fricking Diva Search when we could see WRESTLING. Come on, now.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I miss WCW.

Whoa, easy... talk like that will get you a WCW One Night Stand if you're not careful.

I think the death knell for Jindrak was fully sounded in the trade. There was nothing for him on Raw, period.

The biggest casualty I see out of this bunch is probably Akio, as he could really go in the ring. I suppose it was an issue of new blood in, old blood out for a lot of the cruiserweights apparently.

Will Torrie stay or go?

Who else is getting cut?

Jindrak was blatantly screwed when his Mark of Excellence gimmick was killed within weeks and essentially given to Chris Masters. We never really got a chance to miss him.

Spike, though, was always fun to watch, more so as the bad guy pushing around the Dudleyz as his back-up. He grew out a Lenin beard that just made the angle.

Kidman, well, they tried to work him as a heel and he couldn't bring as much to the angle as London (in the face role). Plus, London has a better version of Kidman's finisher, his lone distinction in the roster.

And Maven had every opportunity to make his TE role pay off, and he couldn't get ove the hump. He had a great dropkick though.

Makes sense; he was using Brock's finisher.

Holy GOD, they cut the Dudleyz!

Morgan is surprising, especially since they seemed high on him coming out of OVW. The Dudleyz, however, are not. I loved the team, but they're stale.

And I was just about to write about how last year's batch was sadder. Wow. As sad as it is, I'm loving how Val Venis and Stevie Richards are dodging these bullets.

Indeed. I agree on Morgan. The stuterring wasn't much, but seemed as if they had something planned for him.

While the Dudleyz have been stale since 2002, they could have very well tried to capitalize off the ECW PPV and elevate them once again. Hmmm...oh well.

These guys brought the table chants and provided a stable tag team to the languishing division. They are the most recognizable tag team in North America. Even if you don't sincerely want them, you don't allow some one else to get them. This cut seems the most senseless of them all.

So Dawn Marie gets pregnant, and then fired? Was this amicable? Because if not, I see a lawsuit easily coming out of it.

Are they hellbent on destroying the Tag Team Division? Are there any other teams left besides the Tag Champs on both shows, the Heartthrobs, and the Mexicools? The Dudley Boys had done all they could in WWE, but they were still a valuable commodity.

Anyway, it seems pretty low firing a pregnant woman and a husband and wife on the same day.

And why are they releasing guys they never did anything with like Morgan and Jannetty? And are you telling me they couldn't figure out how to use Charlie Haas? They've done great with Shelton, but they never even threw him a bone.

Anyway we will all probably forget all of these people like we forgot about the people that got cut last fall (Johnny Stamboli, what could have been!).

EDIT: Just to clarify, WWE is doing away with its weekend shows when they move to USA right? Or are there plans to revamp their syndication package? Because if they're not going to have any B-Shows, I guess these cuts make some sense.

Meltzer says the number he heard from wrestlers last night was that 8-10 more cuts are on the way beyond the new ones they've announced today so far.

Last I heard the USA deal called for three hours of weekly TV--two for Raw and one presumably for a B-show. No idea which brand would get the B-show, or even if it'll feature actual matches (like Heat/Velocity) or clips (like Bottom Line).

I guess Jannetty is no surprise, considering he really DID spend time in jail as Christian alluded to on RAW last week. Dawn Marie isn't a surprise; The Dudleyz are, IMO. And Charlie Haas is now my Most Disappointing Release of the Bunch.

So with the exception of Season III, all Tough Enough kids are gone gone gone.

I update my previous comment: my personal 'biggest loss' award goes to Charlie Haas.

8 - 10 MORE?? That means Tomko is sure to go. Maybe even Conway. Eugene.

I bet The Hurricane and Rosey are glad they're holding the tag straps right now.

I can't even imagine who's going to get fired if they're releasing 8 to 10 MORE wrestlers. Even if they fire five more guys per brand the rosters are going to be running pretty low. It must suck to be Kenzo Suzuki, a Basham, or Val Venis right now...

8 to 10 more cuts?

Speculation: Val Venis, Scotty 2 Hotty, Funaki, Kenzo Suzuki and Hiroko, the Bashams, Al Snow, and I hate to say it: Tajiri.

Pretty soon, there won't be lower carders left to lose the Masterlock challenge. Too bad. Those released wrestlers could have used the $14,000 covered in Chris Masters's jocksweat.
