Anthony was the only contestant to pull off two REALLY strong performances. Simon is right about him not havign soul, but he sang those songs really well.
Carrie STUNK. Her awful second perfomce erased the good country song she did. What's worse, Anthony sang the same song and sounded 100% better. Damn. Oh, the Con Air memories...
Bo's first song was lackluster, although he KILLED "For the Love of Money." Has he ever hit a bad note though?
Vonzell was okay the first time (very shaky) and good the second time. Anyone know why she was so emotional?
This has gotten WAY interesting. Carrie OR Vonz could go home tonight.
Anthony was OK. Ironically, he is the one that has to be because of the four remaining, he is the one that probably most needs to win the competition to be a star; I think the other three are OK no matter what happens.
I didn't think Carrie's second song was that bad, and I found it interesting that Simon threw the band under the bus for it. I thought her vocal in doing Sin Wagon was more impressive than anything anybody else did the rest of the night.
Bo didn't impress me very much in either song to be honest. Of course, I wasn't expecting a hell of a lot out of either he or Carrie in that second go around because the song selections did not compliment their vocal skills.
Somebody needs to make sure that in the round of four that a song doesn't get done twice though.

The cynic in me immediately told me that she was openly campaigning for votes.
I complained to another Liberal friend about some of the Left’s tone concerning the 2004 elections. I thought it insulting to hear those “red state” voters caricatured as red-necked rubes. My friend asked, “Well, don’t you think that people who live in large urban areas, who travel and read and speak other languages are better able to make informed choices?” It turns out it is superiority, not familiarity, which breeds contempt. - Pat Sajak

I turned to Mrs. Dunk and said - "Those tears just got her some sympathy votes."
I wasn't all that impressed with Carrie's "Sin Wagon" and was underwhelmed by her 2nd song. I still think that she is safe. Also found it very interesting that Simon killed the band. Speaking of the band, were they louder than usual tonight ?
Bo was okay - I wasn't overly impressed with his 2nd song either but I did like that Simon referenced Trump in his critique.
Sergei had his best week yet but I can't see it being enough. It will be interesting to see how "the heart of America" votes since Fat Scott was sent packing last week.

From whay I heard, Vonzell, who had been homesick, had her family there and was crying because she was emotional over seeing them. I am not a loyay viewer so I do not know if this is the first time her family was shown on TV, however, if it was, then I understand the tears as we have all seen the contestants on "Survivor" cry when their loved ones showed up.
Be that as it may, I am sure it also got her enough votes to be safe. Bye-bye Anthony.
I think you're an asshole. No, no, let me correct that, an immature asshole. Which is fine, except that you're marrying my daughter and I'm afraid that my grandchildren are gonna be little assholes.
I think a lot of the voting from here on out will be based on the performances of the whole season. People will be voting for their favorites no matter how they sound on a particular week. I think Sergei will be the one to go tonight, but I would not be surprised if one of the other three is voted off. Vonzell, Bo and Carrie all seem to be a cut above Anthony at this point and I would rate Bo is a slight favorite to win it all.
Carrie's version of "Sin Wagon" was not as good as Amy Adams' version from last year, but it was still pretty good. I thought her "If You Don't Know Me by Now" was decent but not great.
I thought Bo would go for something more rocking for his country choice, but he was solid with that and his "For the Love of Money" was outstanding.
I thought Paula was more or less trolling for votes for Vonzell. She butchered the country song something fierce. I thought it was classy of Simon to leave his comments to a minimum. The second song was better, but I didn't think it was that great.
Sergei had a couple of nice performances. Mrs. JJD thought it was tough to take a 20-year old singing a song about being away from his kid, but in spite of her not wanting to like it, she had to admit that she did. How he got to sing the same song as Carrie I have no idea, but his version was better.
I really think Vonzell's going home tonight. Something weird always happens with the voting around this time of year, and Sergei's shown an unusual amount of staying power (see: Jasmine from last year) for whatever reason.

Well coming from my country fan prospective I thought Carrie was awesome singing Sin Wagon and I don't agree that Sergei was great singing "I'm Already There", I thought he butchered it. I think he even got some of the lines mixed up unless that was just "his version" of it. Sergei did sing the second song a lot better than Carrie though. Travis Tritt was a good singer for Bo to choose, but he should've picked a different song. I thought Vonzell was pretty bad this week. If I were going on this week alone she definitely get the cut.
We were all calling for "uneasy rider" from Bo at our house.
I thought Carrie's song was the best of the night - pure country. Vonz is such a crowd pimp - although it would have ruled if she did some Gladys Knight with the guys as the Pips (we could have brought back Killa for that!).
Or - Bo and DaRoozki as The O'Jays and a little "love Train" - that would also rule.

Agreed on everything, especially Sergei's country performance (Though I'm not a big fan of his or Lonestar's anyway). My dad thought that Bo should have done Tritt's T-R-O-U-B-L-E. He did good on the one he did, but I think if he'd have done Trouble, he'd have punched his ticket to the finals (not that it's not already.)

I just have this sinking, sinking feeling Vonzell's winning it all this year. All through last year I didn't see what made Fantasia so great (personally, I thought Latoya ran circles around her). And this year, I don't see what the judges see in Vonzell. Giving her such a free pass on a bad BAD performance while skewering Carrie for a bad performance . . . . . I just dunno. I'm getting this sinking feeling Carrie's going home tonight, Anthony's going home next week, and Vonzell's toppling Bo in the finals . . .
Federov is gone! I don't hate Anthony, just that all the songs he picks are cheesy 80s song. I'll miss all the weird yet accurate analogies Simon had for Anthony. Vonzell, Carrie and Bo is a final 3 I can live with. I'm voting for Bo to take the whole thing. I'm glad they finally showed his audition tape last night.
Fred made a great appearance on Harvey Birdman, as well as an episode of Grim Adv. of Billy and Mandy. He's flexed his acting muscles a couple of times in the last few years, time to brush off the old polka-dotted tunic.
