Hide the women and children! The Devil Rays are 3-0 after sweeping the mighty Tigers!

Actually, they swept the Tigers. The Twins swept the mighty Royals. And the Royals didn't look good at all during either of the 2 games. They'll be lucky to win 60.

EDIT: As for the D'Rays, they play the Yankees next. So, uh, good luck...

Yeah squiz, I knew that. I was laying in bed trying to go to sleep and for some reason it came to mind that I typed in the Royals instead of Detroit. I got out of the sack to come fix it before anyone else saw it, but I see you have already busted me!

They still beat the Devil Rays. Not that I wasn't rooting for the D-Rays, mind you, but...

On the other hand, Giambi has started the season 2-11. I hope he slumps for all of April and the New York media tears into him. I can't stand Giambi's act. "Oh, I love New York. I love the winning atmosphere. I love the aura.. blah blah blah." I mean, come on. You love the money and you love playing with a stacked deck, Jason. I don't blame the man for this, but who really wants to work for a boss who strictly regulates your beard and haircut?

Do I lie to myself to be happy? In your case, Teddy, I think I can.

*My* problem with Giambi is his bullshit about winning when he was on the best young team in baseball already, in a place where he was worshipped. It's not like they were offering him beans, either. Six years at $91 million is nothing to fart at. The A's didn't help themselves with this during the initial negotations, but they were later willing to give him the no-trade clause.

All he has to do now is adjust to humongous pressure or have fans bark an inferior player's name at him all year long. TI-NO TI-NO.

While I wouldn't do this for my current job per se, for $125 mil I'd shave all my body hair and dye myself blue (like the "Big Fat Liar" guy) if they asked me to.

Giambi is not that much different than ol' A-Rod, except a year from now he'll probably be talking about his World Series winning experience while A-Rod, God love 'im, is on a team with no pitching and on ESPN talking about how John Rocker and Carl Everett have been really great guys to get to know.

To take Jose Canseco's logic to its next step, if it wasn't for the fact he has a street named for him in Miami, he'd be in Dade County jail for the next two years instead of under house arrest.
