We all knew it was coming eventually but who would have guessed this soon after the PS2 version?
GTA:San Andreas will be released 2nd quarter April-June 2005 for the X-Box.
Guess they want to show it at E3 in May and get it out for this generations X-Box. Same with GTA3 & Vice City I assume the only improvements will be graphics, few glitchy errors fixed and an extra "radio" station for your custom soundtracks. I doubt the 2 player missions will available online. The next GTA will be some sort of online capable but not for PS2 or X-Box. Rockstar already said they aren't working on another GTA game at this time. So we will have to wait for PS3 or X-Box 2(next whatever)
June 7, 2005, to be exact, for both the X-Box and PC.

I was kidding about that whole "Fire Jim Tressel" thing. Really. I was.
Originally posted by meI disagree. I was reading an article about Take 2 Interactive, and it was saying that GTA:SA was pretty much their entire fiscal 2004, and that they didn't have much in reserve gameswise for next year. Knowing that, they will probably take the revenue that they can if they need to. I personally expect to see the game on X-box and PC within 6 months - long enough to wring the sales out of the PS2 side, but probably not as a 2005 Holiday release. I'm thinking summer 2005. You can tell me I'm wrong in 8 months though

Well, I did call that after all. Huh. Go figure.
Willful ignorance of science is not commendable. Refusing to learn the difference between a credible source and a shill is criminally stupid.
I really have to ask...what is Rockstar's reasoning for not releasing this on Gamecube? Yes, the market is not as "mature" but it would still sell a pretty good quantity. Resident Evil has sold a good number of games on Cube. At least test the market...the only game Rockstar has released on Cube was Smuggler's Run. Come on really, a game like Grand Theft Auto is going to sell no matter on what console.

The install base just isn't there for a mature game like GTA. I seriously doubt Nintendo will ever allow the level of sex, drugs, violence that is included in GTA games to appear on their kid-friendly systems. Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft approve any game that gets produced for their systems and Nintendo would want to be associated with a game like GTA to damage their "family" image. Very few 'M' rated game appear on the Cube and the ones that do are because of blood/violence not because of sex, drugs like GTA. It will never happen.
And to your reference to Resident Evil...It was more of a exclusive deal Nintendo made with Capcom. Here is so much money, only make games for us. My understanding is they made a deal to not make any "numbered" Resident Evil games for any system besides Nintendo which is why Outbreak & Code Veronica were produced.
Capcom just recently announced they were less then happy with the financial results of the Cube Resident Evil games, and Resident Evil 4 will be produced for the PS2 by fall of 2005.
Not to mention the fact that GTA:SA would be like, twelve discs on GC.
Whereas Almighty God hath created the mind free; that all attempts to influence it by temporal punishments or burthens, or by civil incapacitations, tend only to beget habits of hypocrisy and meanness, and are a departure from the plan of the Holy author of our religion, who being Lord both of body and mind, yet chose not to propagate it by coercions on either, as it was in his Almighty power to do...that our civil rights have no dependence on our religious opinions, any more than our opinions in physics or geometry...and finally, that truth is great and will prevail if left to herself, that she is the proper and sufficient antagonist to error, and has nothing to fear from the conflict, unless by human interposition disarmed of her natural weapons, free argument and debate, errors ceasing to be dangerous when it is permitted freely to contradict them - Thomas Jefferson,Virginia Statute of Religious Freedom --//-- Lunatic Fringe

The problem is that too many people that own a Gamecube also own either a PS2 or an X-Box. I would guess that Rockstar feels that the number of people who only own a 'cube just aren't worth the hassle of developing for.
Edit: Gamecube owners can also buy GTA for the PC, even further narrowing the pool of people unable to play the game.
(edited by EddieBurkett on 19.12.04 0238) You're gonna carry that weight...

Well not necessarily. Xbox shrunk VC from 4.5 gigs to 1.8 or something for their release, and while I'm sure that the same advantages the Xbox was able to use to do that wouldn't be available for the GC, who knows what they could do to get it down to 1.4 (or whatever it is) gigs.
Even if some stuff has to go, how much of it would really be noticable if they were careful and picked their spots?

Right. That's sort of why I'm playing GTA right now on my Gameboy Advance. A Nintendo system.
I wouldn't doubt that there isn't enough room on GC discs for GTA:SA to be an option. However, depending on the new Zelda on it's way out, I may change that idea.
Hold nothing sacred and you'll never be dissapointed. Especially not this statement.

BMX XXX was released with nudity on the Gamecube and X-Box versions...but not the PS2 version. Sony wouldn't allow it. There's your proof of that: http://www.gamespot.com/ ps2/ sports/ bmxxxx/ news_2896580.html
...And yes, even though most Cube owners probably own another console...the bottom line is that it's GRAND THEFT AUTO. It's going to sell. Maybe not the in the millions as it does on PS2, but it would indeed sell.
