That was it. That's what I get for being half asleep through a forgettable "Simpsons", Watching "AD" with rapt attention and then falling asleep.

On the Simpson's: How many more times can they go to the Godfather reference well?

I suggest that anyone who has the DVD set of Season One watch the 16-minute making-of feature. Usually, these things are very boring or self-aggrandizing. Or worse yet, they expose too much about a movie or show and ruin the experience. This featurette, I feel, adds to my enjoyment of the show. Especially finding out who improvs some of his lines and how often it happens.
I had only seen a few episodes of AD during the summer re-runs, managed to catch up this past week after buying the first season DVDs, and now I enjoy the show even more. The continuity is anally-consistent and incomparable as far as North American sitcoms go. I missed the season premiere due to the NFL game going long and my VCR not realizing that, but I caught the second show.
Seinfeld's continuity was good for its time, and now AD is filling that role - even better, in my opinion.
Even the original songs included in the extra features on Disc One is pretty cool.
And for the record, Buster is my favorite.

I do hope you watched it today, it was one of the best ever. Gene Parmesan, AHHHHHH. And one of my new all-time favorite lines:
"You know, first of all, we are doing this for her, okay, because neither one of us wants to get divorced. And second-of-ly, I know you're the big marriage expert -- oh, I'm sorry, I forgot, your wife is dead. ... I'm sorry. That was 100% inappropriate, and I do apologize profusely."

Tobias gets TONS of great lines, and that was no different. Classic. Martin Mull's appearance made me happy, as did the awesome continuity of Kitty being in Mexico. The triangle of Maeby/Ann/George Michael continues to develop, as does Michael being the moral center of the family while doing stupid things. And Buster in "Mexico" ruled, as did his continued stumbling-upon of his mother and (possible) father.
also, George Michael's delivery of "NOTHING!" after he asked if it would be okay was nothing short of comedic gold. GENE PARMESAN is a fan-fucking-tastic new character.
Jessica Walter's girlish screams about Gene Parmesan were hilarious. I also enjoy the recurring gags about the blue paint being left everywhere around the Bluth home.
Justin, thanks for the transcript.

When casting for the show, they really wanted David Cross and asked which character he wanted to play. He chose Tobias, and as a result, most of his lines are somewhat improv'd. He plays around with them a lot, and if you're familiar with his standup act (which is constantly updated and different from one tour to the next), you can tell that a lot of what his lines are coming straight from him. His delivery is AWESOME.
Buster in "Mexico" was one of the best mini-storylines I've seen in a while. "Hey, I used to have a shirt like that." Tobias and his "blue myself" joke is a great example of the show's excellent comedic writing.
"GEEEEENE!! AHHHHHH! You did it to me again!" I'm loving the Lucille #1 character more and more. Does the lack of Lucille #2 so far mean she's gone, ya think?
I like the feel of the new season so far. A nice subtle evolution of the characters. Gob had me rolling on the floor tonight.
"also, George Michael's delivery of "NOTHING!" after he asked if it would be okay was nothing short of comedic gold."
That was hella well done by the young, brilliant Michael Cera. It was nice to get more Maeby also.
"Does the lack of Lucille #2 so far mean she's gone, ya think?"
I believe Liza said that L2 would be back at some point this year. Sadly, no such confirmation from Carl Weathers. I would like to see the Fünkes go out to dinner with Carl Weathers and Tom Jane.
I love how they have something for everyone to do. No character is "just there". They all have a purpose.
I eagerly await the inevitable confrontation between Michael and George Sr., a hopefully worthy follow-up to the Pilot confrontation in the prison that consisted of "I quit." "That's probably a good move."
"Illusions, Michael. A trick is something a whore does for money...or candy!" - G.O.B. Bluth, Arrested Development
The amazing thing about AD is how they re-use several props repeatedly in many ways (or the same way) and it doesn't get old. The stairs truck is constantly a source of enjoyment, especially when it was parked at the Mexico-USA border and Mexicans were jumping over the wall.
I finally saw the season premiere for the second season tonight, and I'm surprised some people here didn't like it very much. I think it was the best episode all season so far.

"I am not a scalper. I am a dude whose 200 friends did not show up." "She's the mom I'd like to fight..." I've been hoping The Simpsons would take on pro wrestling in one of their episodes (with guest voices aplenty!)
