It's all over, Packer fans. The defense can't stop anyone. The offense is inconsistent (they can't get both the passing game and the running game to work the same week).

So what now? Is Farve going to retire after this year? Should Sherman be fired? Where have all the flowers gone?

That may well have been the greatest game in the history of Monday Night Football. Favre not knowing what color uniforms his team was wearing, the Lambeau faithful booing their team totally out of the building.

If there are any Detroit Lions available in your fantasy football leagues, be sure to pick them up before Sunday!

As painful as this season is going to be, it'll be worth it to get Sherman out of there. The guy simply cannot coach.

Get a new man in charge, someone like (ironically) Jeff Fisher. We need some new blood in Green Bay that can get this team back on its feet while we still have Favre for the next year or two.

Brett Favre. On a Monday night. At home. Injured. With a dead family member. And the Packers LOSE?!

Man, between this and Mt. Saint Helens on the verge of popping, me thinks the Apocalypse is upon us.

I have to say that watching the fans STREAM out of Lambeau mid-third quarter was one of the funniest things I have seen since I was at Lambeau three weeks ago when the fans were streaming out mid-fourth quarter as the Bears handed their ass to them. Also, I overheard a Packer in a Favre jersey ask another fan "Should they trade Favre?" Hell, I thought I was in the Metrodome for a minute.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BTW, Sect19, we were in a skybox straight up (East) from the goal line on the north side of the field. I thought about coming to find you, but I already got enough ugly looks walking around the INSIDE of Lambeau in my Hovan jersey. Beautiful stadium!

The problem with this team begins and ends with it's defense. They can't stop anything or anybody. The offense is very good when it can be a dual threat, but if you get them in a spot where they abandon the run, it's not hard to shut down Javon Walker and Donald Driver. Until they can get someone in there that can put together a defense, it doesn't much matter who the head coach is.

Bah! Keep the coach (but he should leave the GM duties to someone else). What we need is 11 new men on D. Oh, and a new pair of hands on the "star" running-back wouldn't hurt, either.

Catch The Thrill on "Pick of the Week"...taped Tuesdays at Planet Magic in Denmark, WI...on the air Sundays @ 1 am on WIWB-14!

I'm with ScreamingHeadGuy: if Sherman's mentor, Mike Holmgren, was too small a man (hard to imagine, we know) for Lombardi-style dual duty, how the hell can his old tight ends coach, Mike Sherman, fit that bill?

And BigVitoMark, the problems on this team go beyond defense...or a lack thereof.

* Substitute the good community-minded guy Grey Rugamer for an injured Mike Flanagan, and suddenly the vaunted Packer O-line can't open up any holes for Ahman Green.

* No Najeh Davenpoop back yet to help spell Ahman Green. It's like a 3-pitch pitcher suddenly with no curveball.

* Green fumbles a lot in the early season, but this is a bit much even for him.

* All that forces Favre to do exactly what this offense was built to not force him to do: try to win it all himself. And these days, you spell that I-N-T.

* Defensive line? What defensive line? Without Grady Jackson, anybody and your grandmother can rush for 120 yards on the Packers. Cletidus Hunt, you're no Gilbert Brown.

* Linebackers: Hannibal Navies? Puh-leeze. Barnett's an intense playmaker, but he's got no help. Na'il Diggs is average at best.

* And then there's the secondary...not just a sieve, but an outright colander. I think the chefs from the fancier restaurants inside the Lambeau Field atrium were straining pasta through these goofs.

* And for good measure, let's have special teams muff a kick. What the hell?

*throws hands up in frustration, which wasn't helped any by the Red Sox* YE F'N GODS.

It's been ugly. I've seen losses in Lambeau (Chicago and Tennessee) and at Indianapolis.

You should have wandered down by us -- while you'll be guaranteed to get sh!t, it's not like Philly! I've always had respect for a fan who isn't afraid to show their support for the visitors (as long as they aren't a$$holes).

Glad you liked the stadium -- the Vikes need one. They can't be allowed to move, cuz it just wouldn't be the same.

I've never seen a Packer defense this weak! It's hard to imagine any defense as poor as this... Every aspect of it is horrible from pass rush to run stop to covering receivers. Most teams have one draw back and compensate for it, some teams have two bad points & they will have a bad record but having all 3 being as poor as this, now that's sad.

Speaking of sad, the offense isn't much better. Does Sherman have them all hold a stick of butter before they go out to start offense drive... I was never a fan of Sherman, I had no idea how this guy did to deserve the key to the franchise which they gave him. His sissy ass play calling allowed Philly to hit the 4th and 26 yet his defense coach took the fall. Gawd we miss Holmgren.

smark/net attack wienerville advisory holds at ORANGE alert - High (JBL is STILL WWE champion and now smarks arch enemy HHH is the World Champion. Major red threat, but the undercard seems okay. The alert holds... for now)- 9/19

Ummm, no. He, like Parcells the year before, had his mind on another job when he should have been coaching in the Super Bowl (per Mark Chmura, among others). If you're that dis-interested in what you're doing, I don't want you around.

I tell ya what, I DID get a lot of ugly stares, but I never heard any harsh words thrown my way until after that game/loss, on our way out to our bus, there were two seperate people, one drunk, who looked and me and said: "VIKINGS?!?! Tell ya what, I don't mind the team, but Hovan can SUCK my BALLS~!" Then, waiting at the bus for the rest of the co-workers, myself and a buddy were standing outside having a smoke, and the stream of Pack fans were going by GLARING at me, but I was standing with my back to the flow, and my buddy was watching peoples mouths and what they were saying, and the worst he saw was: "That guy should be shot in the head." Other than that, the other stuff said to me was all in good-natured fun. like when I actually went and sat in the stadium in the fourth quarter, and almost everyone in the section was up in arms (jokingly) about my jersey, and this one guy yells out (half laughing): "What in the WIDE WIDE WORLD OF SPORTS is THIS about?" I almost lost it. Good times, good times....
