Not to be confused with the Central Hockey League, the Canadian Hockey League is the collective of the Western Hockey League (BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan & Manitoba), the Ontario Hockey League and the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
The QMJHL is notable because of the second coming of Hockey Jesus, Sydney Crosby. The kid's 17, draft eligible in June (if there's a draft)...and INSANELY GOOD. Gretzky good...almost. His team (the Rimouski Oceanic) have played 5 games...and he has 18 points in 'em.
The WHL is notable (for me) because of Flames prospect Dion Phaneuf of the Red Deer Rebels. The guy's a combo of Al MacInnis & Paul Coffey: Big, smart & strong.
The OHL just has good hockey. Yep.

I'm planning on checking out some Vancouver Giants games this year for sure. The beer is cheap and the crowds are loud.
I encourage anyone to go check out their local junior or minor team(s) because you'll have a great time.
Classic Rock "Remember the commercial, that Indian had the tear in his eye for pollution? He wasn't crying for pollution, you took his land and ****ed his wife! I don't think he was crying cause there was a ****ing can on the ground ... You can **** my wife but that can's gotta go!"
"I used to work making minimum wage came up to about $200 a week and then they'd take out $50 in taxes ... Fifty dollars a week in taxes? What do I get for my tax money? All the free street light in the world! Yeah, as far as I'm concerned you can give everybody a candle and give me my ****ing fifty dollars back!"

I had the chance to watch Crosby live on numerous occasions and, yes, he is simply phenomenal.
The Crosby Show is in full effect this year. Rimouski lost 3-2 tonight but he managed to get two assists anyway. 20 points in 6 games. I doubt he'll be able to get as much points as Lafontaine and Lemieux but he this kid is special, no doubt about it.
About Dion Phaneuf...I love that guy. He really impressed me the times I saw him play.
For the first time ever, my hometown London Knights have made the four-team Memorial Cup final tournament. Of course, this is because this year's Cup is held in....London. I never figured out the logic in one team automatically getting a bye into the finals, thus making their whole season pretty meaningless.

But their jerseys are top-notch.
“Back in 2000 a Republican friend warned me that if I voted for Al Gore and he won, the stock market would tank, we'd lose millions of jobs, and our military would be totally overstretched. You know what? I did vote for Gore, he did win, and I'll be damned if all those things didn't come true!" -- James Carville
