MY PICKS

Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match
Chris Jericho vs. Christian
Chris Jericho to defeat Christian with an appearance by Edge and an eventual heel turn to beatdown Chris Jericho after the match.

Womens Championship
Trish Stratus (c) vs. Victoria
Victoria to go over as new womens champion seen as though Trish has done nothing with her reign.

World Tag Team Championship
La Resistance (c) vs. Rhyno and Tajiri
La Resistance to defeat Rhyno and Tajiri and hold on to the title's a little bit longer and then drop them on Raw.

Match Made in Hell
Kane vs. Shawn Michaels
Kane to defeat Shawn Michaels after botched interference from Lita/Matt Hardy

Tag Team Match
Chris Benoit and William Regal vs. Batista and Ric Flair
Evolution to win via pin on Benoit to push him further down the ladder, whatever happened to the usual rematch clause for Benoit? Regal could also possibly be the next Evolution member so maybe a heel turn?

World Championshp
Randy Orton (c) vs. Triple-H
Randy Orton to win via DQ/botched interference/using sledge. This feud isn't over and will probably go on past Survivor Series and end with Orton winning the Rumble and facing Triple-H at Wrestlemania XXI

...and that's the bottom line cos jk sed so

Benoit had a rematch the night after SummerSlam.

WWE ppv's have been pretty average lately, even Summerslam this year wasn't able to deliver. Even this card tonight, only six announced matches for a 3 hour, 35 dollar ppv. There really hasn't been a great WWE PPV since around Backlash or Wrestlemania, and with ratings getting lower, if there was a time never to slack off, tonight would be it.

Shawn Michaels vs. HBK
I was kind of expecting this after what happened on TV a few months. But c'mon, the outcome of this match is a no brainer. Kane is a jobber and the only guy he's beaten this year is Matt Hardy, and its pretty obvious that HBK wouldn't job in his first match back. Though Kane could definitely use a high profile win over Shawn Michaels, but its not going to happen.

Chris Benoit and William Regal vs. Batista and Flair
Bah, in less than a month after losing the world title, this is all they could do for Benoit on PPV. One note, this is William Regal's first PPV match in like almost 2 years. I say Evolution takes this one.

Women's Title match, Trish Stratus(c) vs. Victoria
Well at least they actually remembered Victoria won a #1 contenders match for the women's championship at WWE Vengeance this year, so I guess that's good continuity or consistency. I predict Trish will retain and then continue her feud with Nidia.

WWE World Heavyweight Tag Team Titles match, La Resistance(c) vs. Tajiri and Rhyno
Now I think would be a good time to shake things up and give Rhyno and Tajiri the tag team titles. They both could use a good title run, but I doubt they will stay together as a team for the long term even after (if) they win the belts. I say Tajiri and Rhyno take this one.

WWE Intercontinental Title Ladder Match, Chris Jericho vs. Christian for the vacant IC title
One might question the logic of putting Christian in a ladder match for his VERY FIRST (not counting house shows) match back in about five months after getting his back screwed up in a cage match. Both of these guys have been in all types of ladder matches before and have wrestled each other before in some great contests. Though Christian's one-on-one ladder matches weren't that good, I'm still expecting this to be the highlight of the card if they get it right. I'm still kind of disappointed seeing Jericho in this match because I mean, he's won the IC title before, he's even been the undisputed world champion before. Jericho should be higher up on the card, but oh well. I'm going to go ahead and predict Christian winning this match.

WWE World Heavyweight Title match, Randy Orton(c) vs. HHH
WWE definitely hotshotted Orton's heel turn and this feud in particular, considering we were hearing rumors this would be next year's Wrestlemania main event. I agree with jk in thinking this match will end with some sort of stupid, cheap DQ or no contest decision to prolong the feud.

A few of the matches on this card look good, but to be honest nothing really looks GREAT. Which, as I've said before is unacceptable for a 35 dollar show. Buto maybe the wrestlers and bookers for whatever reason can exceed expectations and pull out a great show. But after recent months I kind of doubt it.

-Orton retains over HHH, probably via pinfall and with plenty of the necessary wackiness. The actual outcome should be very interesting.
-Jericho over Christian to win the IC title. This should set up matches with Edge and with Christian, as well as Edge's impending heel turn.
-Benoit and Regal over Evolution. This is not really an important match other than Benoit should win the fall so as to stay hot.
-Kane over HBK. It would seem that HBK wins, but this is/should be a big time revenge feud and I would think that they wanna keep this going maybe until Survivor Series.
-Trish retains over Victoria. No sense in changing the title back right now since Trish won it from Victoria a few months ago. Besides, Trish has been very good lately.
-Rhyno/Tajiri win the Tag Straps over La Resistance. Not much more to say other than that they can't get more out of this and they've done a nice job building up to it.
-There's gotta be at least another couple of matches....I'll say that Shelton Benjamin pins Steven Richards and Gail Kim beats Nidia by submission....or something entirely different.

I think I'll be getting the replay at 10, but it depends on how bad and how late I want to see it. I expect the following to happen.

Trish vs. Victoria. Trish is keeping this thing till they get a new female face or Lita has an abortion, either she is the best thing on Raw and it only helps the title.

Benoit/Regal vs. Evolution. I am thinking Benoit pins Batista start a fued. This is shaping up to be the face PPV.

Christian vs. Jericho. I like the Jericho wins, but Edge turns on him. Tomko will enter, but should get the shit kicked out of him. Jericho wins and they start a fued with E&C.

Rhyon/Tajiri vs. La Resistance. I really hope Team ECW wins and here is why. I went to Summerslam with the wife and some friends. My wife and friend went out for a smoke around midnight, a cab pulls up and Tajiri walks out. He goes to the hotel they tell them, there is no rumor, he says hi to my wife and friend. He leaves to find another hotel, when they returned they said he looked sad and down. I pointed out, why he couldn't he stay with us, they both shook their heads realizing we could have spent the night with Tajiri. I figure after that Tajiri deserves the world title.

HBK vs. Kane. HBK wins, but hurts Lita in the process. I figure this one could go either way and I'll be happy.

Orton vs. HHH. Man, I have no care what happens. I do expect Evolution turning on HHH leading to Orton as a heel and HHH as defacto face. My feeling is since this will be taking up all our time til Wrestlemania, we should not get to excited for this match. Explain to me again why I have cable?

Will be watching tonight at the local eatery establishment:

Shawn Michaels v.s Kane: Lita costs Kane the match.

Benoit and Regal v.s Flair and Batista: Flair and Batista, as we see the seeds being planted of a Benoit/Regal feud.

Trish v.s Victoria: Trish retains- she's gotten the most coverage of any woman wrestler (save for Lita).

La Resistance v.s Tajiri/Rhyno: Mismatched team #45892 wins the titles.

Jericho v.s Christian: Christian wins.

Orton v.s Trips: Orton wins, but not cleanly.

Let's see...

-Chris Jericho def. Christian to win the IC Title
-Victoria def. Women's Champion Trish Stratus
-Batista & Ric Flair def. Chris Benoit & William Regal
-Rhyno & Tajiri def. World Tag Champs La Resistance
-Shawn Michaels def. Kane
-World Champion Randy Orton def. Triple H. Somehow I think Evolution & Chris Benoit will get involved, hopefully planting the seeds for Benoit/Orton/HHH at Taboo Tuesday.

Orton vs. Trip: Orton retains via DQ, setting up a stipulation match for Tuesday in Texas II.

Christian vs. Jericho: Considering Edge was appearing to be turning heel, it can be presumed the company wanted the I-C Title on a heel as they enter the fall. Christian wins after interference from Edge.

Rhyno/Tajiri vs. La Resistance: The tag division really is in shambles. Rhyno/Tajiri win, as losing would make the past few months of semi-building them up seem pointless.

Trish vs. Victoria: A title change would liven up the division. Lita interferes, causing Victoria to win, and segwaying into.

Kane vs. Michaels: Feud had potential at the beginning. Unfortunately, they've turned this into a minor sidelight of the Kane/Lita wackiness. Lita's interference works again, as Kane is defeated and the wackiness of the newlyweds continues. Michaels wins, in probably the least built up/cared about match Michaels has had on PPV since the mid 90's.

Batista/Flair vs. Regal/Benoit: Flair has been decent in tag situations. With Eugene out of the picture, Regal no longer has a reason to be a face and turns on Benoit. If Benoit is going to be stuck in the midcard, at least it means he'll have some nice matches against Regal. Batista/Flair win.

Orton over HHH- Clean sweep on here for Orton predictions, as there will be screwiness but Randy wins.

HBK over Kane- Why have Kane start winning now? He's in an angle that has little to do with wrestling, so he's dead in the water here against a returning Michaels.

Christian over Jericho- We need heels to win some matches, so I'll go with Christian here.

Rhyno/Tajiri over La Resistance- Enough of the chase. If Rhyno and Tajiri don't win here, then there is nothing on the horizon I can see.

Trish over Victoria- Trish rules. That is all.

Batista/Flair over Benoit/Regal- Regal jobs as Batista/Flair go over and perhaps challenge Rhyno/Tajiri on Raw for the tag straps.

Other possibles- Shelton wins, Nidia beats Molly.

Joe Wilson (looking at Interocitor manual)- Hey, here's something my wife could use in the house...
Crow T. Robot- A man?
Joe Wilson- An interocitor incorporating an electron sorter.
Cal Meechum- Oh, she'd probably gain 20 pounds while it did all the work for her.
Tom Servo- Cal, you bitch!

I remember when the All Japan/WWF rumour started a few months ago, and I wished it was New Japan instead, as I'd rather see Mutoh, Kojima and Tenzan. I guess two out of three aint bad.
