Continuing the year's "Hooray for Everything" style of promotion, Calgary Flames mascot Harvey the Hound celebrated 20 years of faithful service to the team Friday night and was honored before the game. Harvey was the first officially recognized mascot in the NHL. Earlier this season, the Flames celebrated the 20th birthday of the Pengrowth (former Olympic & Canadian Airlines) Saddledome.

I was at the game last night and Harveymania was running wild. I didn't get any of that sweet cake, though. It would have been great if McTavish had done a video wish for Harvey.
My favorite memory of Harvey was when Pat Quinn (then coach of the Canucks) had to be physically restrained from pummelling him after Harvey ran over a Canucks jersey with his mini Zamboni. Funny stuff from a funny mascot. Happy birthday Harvey!

It just might be you against the world, starting with Finland tonight, ending with Finland tonight, call the bus driver, we're heading back to Red Deer with no medal, make sure there's plenty of Labatt's and Kokanee when we get there.
