Talk about Leaf fans worst nightmare coming true...

CuJo is out 6-8 weeks. Let's hope they can keep this thing afloat and that he'll be back in time for the playoffs.

Man Yuskevich would look good back in the lineup now...

This is SERIOUS trouble. We have Corey Schwab, and then it's pick a name from the minor leagues.

Man. Montreal went through something similar at the beginning of the season, when both their goaltendters went down with injuries.

Worse still, he could be Tommy Salo, who is getting spiritually tar-and-feathered in the homeland for his faux pas in the nets.

I think I read on ESPN that his family is being ridiculed and stuff constantly back in Sweden.
Poor guy *grin*

CuJo being out is going to hurt the Leafs, that is for sure.
Maybe they will trade for a goalie?

They've called up Sebastain Centomo who has played for both St. John's and a Central Hockey League team. He apperently has a pretty good record with both.

Quinn has also said they don't want to make any drastict changes or trades for an immediate fix. But I wouldn't be surprised if we see a few trades on the deadline date.

Well, things go from bad to worse for the Leafs:

-we already know about Cujo
-Mogilny has a cracked vertebrae, out at least another 2-3 weeks
-Yuskevich's blood clot is now going to keep him out the rest of the season
-Asst Coach Keith Acton is now undergoing radiation for testicular cancer

Without even playing a game, the media up here has said now the Leafs are going to struggle for a playoff spot.

The Devils owned the Leafs last night 4-2, and the Leafs drop to the fourth seed. This team is going to seriously hurt without Cujo, because Corey Schwab nor a minor leaguer (unless he's going to pull a Hedberg and be a really good goalie) are good enough backups for a long run.

The Leafs were horribly early on in the game, but regrouped near the end.

They're playing MUCH better tonight. And they always were the #4 seed. (well not ALWAYS but they've been #4 for a while)

Schawb is playing MUCH better tonight then from last night. I think Schwab was just tad bit nervous last night.

HUGE win in Washington, and Schwab looked really good. Damn, our injuries are bad right now. Joseph (hand), Mogilny & Domi (backs), Yushkevich (knee), Belak & Valk (flu), Lumme (suspension) - CRAZY!

HUGE win in Washington

And thank god for it! Washington looked like they were gaining momentum, and this Hurricanes fan was getting a little uneasy. But that loss has knocked them 10 points back of first place, and that's NOT an easy deficit to make up this late in the season. I sure am glad my team plays in the Southeast division, that's for damn sure!

Boston's not looking good against Montreal even though it's tied thus far, so I wouldn't hit the panic button YET Leafs fans. Ottawa's just gonna be Ottawa and play .500 hockey the rest of the year. I THINK you should cruise into the playoffs with a 2nd place seed...

I'm keeping my eyes on the Habs. I'd love to see them squeak in and knock of Philly in the first round.

Boston is really in a slump. Juneau scored twice in the first minute last night against them and they just could never get over the hump. They outshot the Canadiens by about 40-15, but damn.

We are COMING for ya, baby! The Caps win against the Flames puts them a mere 8 points behind the Canes...and the head-to-head matchup is Friday night, baaabbyy! The Caps are 2-1-1 on ya this season...if the Canes win, I think they've got the SE all wrapped up. But if (read: WHEN) the Caps win, we're gonna be talking a whole new ballgame.

I think that the Caps are more likely to take the 8th playoff spot, if they get a spot at all, rather than win that SE division.

If the Caps DO snag the 8th spot, whoever's on top better watch out - they're WAY too talented to be taken lightly.

Big win in Philly for the Buds on Saturday - how sweet would another one be tonight?
