from 1wrestling.com ...

"Kevin Nash has confirmed that his WWE contract has ended, and that he is no longer with the company. On his official website, KevinNash.net, Nash confirmed what we had reported here on the site recently, that his wrestling contract had expired on December 31, 2002, and that he had been offered a creative role with the company. However, Nash wrote that he did not want to work five days a week and take time away from his family, so he declined the offer.

Nash wrote that "There are many options in wrestling with other companies and I am also looking into more film and television appearances. "

Nash will appear in the "Punisher" movie that comes out in April, and says that his immediate plans are to take a cruise with his family and then go to Europe for a month."

Oh surely TNA would be smarter than that. No, no they wouldn't. Hey, they could get Kane to double as the fake Kevin Nash.

So if he hasn't had a contract for a year how is this just news now?

He will be missed. After all of those years where the marks would ramble endlessly in AOL chat rooms about how "Nash is coming back to the WWF", I can't help but say what a payoff it was. Let's take a look at the return of Kevin Nash to the WWE in 2002 and 2003..the man, the myth, the legend.

--Nash triumphantly returns with Hall and Hogan. He doesn't get overshadowed by Hogan and doesn't have a lack of mic time/heat at all. No siree.
--An injured but passionate Nash leads the nWo A-Team comprised of a washed up cripple, an overweight hoss, and a heatless weasel. They dominate in their feud against Goldust.
--Nash returns to RAW in a six-man tag in perhaps one of the most comical matches in wrestling history. One missed kick into the hot tag and Nash falls down crying. He takes several months off.
--Nash returns. To prove the clique no longer rules McMahon, Vince decides it would be best to center RAW around the love triangle of Nash, Hunter and Michaels.
--The following I can't even put into words properly because it was so epic. Hunter turns on Nash, and they main event two PPVs in a row. Their second encounter is in a Hell-in-a-cell, and WWE acknowledges the epicness by advertising it as "Triple H in a title match with special ref Mick Foley".
--Nash has a minifeud with Jericho and has a match where the loser would shave his head. Nash loses, and gets a bleached blonde crew cut. Good enough. In his last RAW appearance ever, Nash is one of two people left standing in a short pre-PPV brawl between the six competitors. He is then the first person to job.

Thank you, Kevin Nash, for you will be missed. You are a credit to this industry, and and an inspiration for the maximum-gain-with-minimum-and-i-mean-minimum-effort working type.

With Nash's luck in this business, the contract probably did end a year ago but a la Milton in Office Space, he kept on receiving a paycheck. Of course, with OUR luck as wrestling fans, this 'glitch' couldn't be fixed until Nash polluted 3 PPV main events in a row.

How intellegent is kevin Nash? I'm serious. God bless the guy, I hope he can get over his imjuries, i hate to know that anyone is hurt, but the man wrestle less than 20 matches in two years and made well over a million dollars doing it. Now that my friends, is smart.

Nash is so smart, he was the original smart mark! I think. Anyway, best of luck you sexy, quad-tearing beast. Atleast he'll have more time to relax from his grueling schedule. Tee hee Nash pwns u!!1

Who will we complain about now? I mean, besides the big evil wrestlers who actually got TV time??

A whole 90 seconds after entering the match. What is almost as sad is that he did about ten times the work of the actual winner of that match.

Don't forget Test, who now can't beat Stevie Richards, beat Nash cleanly on RAW too, which I want to say was after SummerSlam.

In Nash's defense, he should have been given more mic time ... That might be the one thing the he's good at & he rarely got to speak upon his return.

Having persoanlly met both Nash and Hall, I wish them both the best of luck, in finding some nice, ice cold brew, and dicking around and half assing a match!

When I met Nash, he wasn't a dickhead at all. I ran into him in one of the bars in the Phoenix airport. He invited me to sit down and have a beer with him. We didn't talk about wrestling. We watched a basketball game on tv and kept the conversation light and easy. Then we parted ways. He seemed really chill. I honestly wish him continued success in being lazy and getting paid for it.

My impression is Ric Flair actually won a lot in the 70s and 80s and the memory of those wins is what allowed him to coast thru the 90s with a lot weaker wins.
