Now she wants 50% of HHH for life. Why doesn't he spring on her that the marriage was never legal to begin with? Are they waiting for the PPV? Or am I expecting too much in the continuity department?

I also don't expect the Jericho/Steph alliance to last long - not if she's pushing him around to this level this quickly. Wouldn't it be nice if Steph had absolutely no reason to appear on WWF TV - no association with an active wrestler or plotline?

i think you might be assuming that the drive through ceremony was steph and hunter's "real" marriage.

i don't think they ever explicitly spelled it out, but they were in cahoots all along - before the drive through. they were married while steph was ostensibly still with test.

They could have gotten married before or after the drive-through(I can't beleive someone would get married like that)scene was shot. Either way, they wouldn't actually say that HHH and Steph NEVER got married...

"We can't bust heads like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to tell them stories that don't go anywhere. Like that time I took the ferry over to Shelbyville; I needed a new heel for my shoe. So, I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickle, and in those days, nickles had pictures of bumblebees on them. "Give me five bees for a quarter," you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn't have any white onions, because of the war; the only thing you can get was those big yellow ones..." -Abe Simpson

If the WWF is smart, she wouldn't be on TV right now. All she draws now is the "get out of the ring/tv" heat, which is not the good kind of heel heat. When she shows up, I want to change the channel (And I sometimes do).

It's real annoying that she constantly has to stick her nose, and her ultra annoying voice that breaks glass, into every major storyline over the last 3 years. First she's the "ultimate sacrifce/pawn" in the Corporate Ministry story, then she's the love interest of Test, then she marrys Triple H and thus is in EVERY HHH feud until HHH falls due to injury. Then they stick her in as the owner of ECW, and thus she's around in the whole WWF/Alliance feud. Now she's back again, this time against Triple H. YEARGH. At least Shane has the sense to stay off TV right now.

What ticks me off most about Stephanie being in Y2J's corner, is that it takes away from what should be the thrust of the storyline: HHH fighting Jericho at WM for the Title. Instead it's Stephanie trying to get revenge of Triple H. You could stick any wrestler in Jericho's spot for how the feud is going. It devaules the title, it doesn't help Jericho one bit, and all it does is keep Stephanie on TV, aggrevating the fans of the WWF.

The best they could do is make a stipulation at WM that is HHH wins, Steph has to leave TV. But since she's the bosses daughter that won't happen, and even if they did do that, they'd forget about it a month later to bring her back.

the only place i hear about this "get off my tv" heat is on the net. fans i've spoken to that don't read this stuff just want to see her get smacked around, which is exactly how they should feel about a heel.

What they'll probably do is turn this into a "I'll give you what you want if Jericho beats me at Wrestlemania, if he doesn't, you get NOTHING" angle. Or is that too predictable? What am I thinking! This IS the WWF...

I want Jericho smacked around, I want Kurt Angle smacked around. I Want the nWo to get smacked around. I want Stephanie off TV.

Now I didn't feel this way at first. She was a crucial part of HHH's heel heat in 2000/1. Then she served a purpose, and the heat she got was legit. Ever since she came back after the Alliance meltdown back in January, she's just been plain annoying, and not in the GOOD sort of annoying like Angle.

Any one know of a site to get all the quarter hour breakdown's (CRZ doesn't seem to have them in his reports anymore)? It would be interesting to see what effect Stephanie has on the ratings when she shows her face.

I think the 50% of all HHH's future earnings is pretty important here. Come Wrestlemani-UH, HHH is going to beat Jericho for the Unified Title, which gives him two belts. If Steph gets half of everything HHH has, that means she gets one of the titles, just in time for HHH to go to WWF SmackDown and Steph to take the other title to Vince, the nWo and WWF Raw when they split.

Up until I read the 50% part in the spoilers, I was sure Steph and HHH were going to swerve Jericho, but now, I can't see them spelling it out SmackDown like that for any other reason than to split the belts again.

This doesn't necessarily fit, but this whole thing just made me think: Does it seem like the WWf keeps booking itself into more and more corners?

Insert clever comment.

Dr. Unlikely, when I read your post, it made SO much sense to me. That's really a great way to go about things. Well played.

Am I the only person who sees a possible double-turn at WM 18? It may turn out that Stephanie and HHH are STILL in cahoots, and the aftermath will be a face Jericho chasing a heel champion HHH during the summer in the split division that doesn't get Austin, Rock and the NWO.

At the very least, Jericho will dump Steph on the RAW after WM, leading to a huge face pop for him. Maybe he can blame her for his loss.

The only other scenario that might work with the way they've booked things is that Jericho retains the titles at WM, and then kicks Steph to the curb the next night. This is highly unlikely, since it would still get him a face pop, and I don't think the audience will buy Stephanie as a sympathetic character.

The dream scenario--Jericho dumps Steph on this week's RAW, and she vows never to return to the WWF again. Not gonna happen, but if you're going to dream, dream big.

Oh, and if the divorce does wind up as a fifty-fifty split, does Hunter get one of those big ole boobies?

I, personally, don't find anything wrong with Stephanie. She's good at what she does, is all. I don't understand this seriously vicious reaction that's coming from the online wrestling community, because you all know it's an act. I mean, for instance.. I hate Spike Dudley. I feel that he has no place whatsoever in the ring or in the WWF, period. -Maybe- he'd be plausible as a manager, but since we don't really /have/ male managers anymore, he's useless. But, however much I hate the scrawny little shrimp, I have never said he should be off the TV. [shrug]

Maybe it's just me, but even though every wrestling company has had really dumb angles and made a lot of mistakes.. they obviously have a reason for him being there. I don't have to like it one bit, of course. I'm just saying that maybe the reason you hate her so much is because she works really hard to -get- you to hate her. If you'll remember back when she was face, she didn't have that 'annoying' voice, as a lot of people seem to call it. (I think she's got a nice voice.) Just compare face-Stephanie to heel-Stephanie and draw your conclusions from the likenesses and differences between the two.
