Has anybody else seen this show? It was an hour-long roast of Carson Daly. I watch about five hours of MTV a YEAR, but Mrs. JJD flipped to this right at the beginning and it was the damned funniest show I've seen in a loooooong time. Seriously, I was doubled-over in pain some of the stuff was so funny, especially Jimmy Kimmel's part. And Nelly. (Just trust me on the Nelly thing.)

Carson Daly is the chief reason why MTV sucks today.

That may be so (although I thought it was because I'm old and clearly not in the target demo for the shows the run IN THE 10 SPOT) but do not let that dissuade you from checking this show out.

I saw this the other night and it was a mostly enjoyable 60 minutes. Not quite Chevy Chase roast quality, but still entertaining enough. I enjoyed Madonna's pretaped bit. And Sara Silverman is quickly becoming my favorite female comic. I always thought her SNL days were cut tragically short.

I can't stand Daly. And I jumped on that bandwagon back in the KROQ days, and hated their deal with MTV (mostly because MTV ruined Kennedy for me when she was one of my favorite KROQ jocks). I watched this last week, and thought it was hilarious. My one question, though, was Who was the fake Tara Reid?

They had her in the credits as "Fake Bride" or something like that, and I don't know who she was but she was HILARIOUS.

I can't understand how Carson Daly and Jimmy Kimmel are passed of as being "entertainment". Kimmel was good on the "Man Show" but his talkshow sucks, the guy has really bad comedic timing. At times he can be really funny, but most of the time he comes of as a retard. And Carson is so plain and dry, and he is the biggest suck up ever. Though Sarah Silverman is a freakin riot, she has killed on everything I've seen her appear on, and she is a hottie.

The show was good, but there isn't enough to rag on Carson about (amazingly enough). At about the tenth "He likes to go to strip clubs" and "he dated both JLH AND Tara" joke, I was getting bored.

Nominees for the next bash- Wanna Be a VJ Jesse or Kurt Loder

Molly, Stacy and Daffney all in WWE? I suddenly lost all my will to complain about anything regarding the WWE. Hope I don't lose my street cred for this.

TS, the greatest Wiener rated 6.4948 ever to live!! Oops, I mean 5.5...4.5?? Oh, dammit! I guess Notorious FAB was right.

That was why I found the Nelly bit so funny, because it was more about his silly behavior while VJ-ing than all of the stripper/player jokes.

Carson's line about JLH was great: (paraphrasing) "I loved the fact that we dated, back when you were famous."

"Bash" picks up where the Friar's Club roasts left off; I'd say the only funny bits were Ross, Silverman and Kimmel. Silverman's "Thanks for the herpes" comment to Jimmy was AWESOME.

To me, nothing beat the Drew Carey roast only because it was fresh, and it was the first time for me seeing comics like Ross and say, Dave Attell. Who's he again?

EDIT: On second thought, Nelly's diatribe about Carson and his interviewing skills, albeit TelePrompted, was dead on.

Teppan-Yaki: Dave Attell. Host of Insomniac on Comedy Central. Consequently, has the greatest job ever. Half the show's just going around cities, getting drunk.

I don't find Carson Daly all that bad. He's kinda bland, but I'd take bland anyday over in-your-face unfunny (i.e. Kimmel). Besides, what talk show hosts aren't suckups?

I'm offended that a summer event called the Bash featured neither Ric Flair nor Ricky Steamboat.

To steal a line from The Sports Guy, watching Carson attempt to interview Tori Amos about a year back rated about a 96 out of 100 on the Unintentional Comedy Scale. And she was being NICE (ie, "normal"), on top of that. You almost felt bad for the guy...he was lost.

well thats funny because I remember in the years before the Death Row explosion in 1993 the only black artists in regular rotation on MTV were Run-DMC (and only then with Aerosmith) and Micheal Jackson. And he was only "Black" till about 1986....

I'm all for changing things to fit into a movie (Wolverine in Yellow Spandex would have been quite scary.) but that's just lame! This is one of the few situations where I would rather see the mask with a bullseye on it and I hate that mask!
