Vancouver-St.Louis
Minnesota-Colorado
Toronto-Philadelphia

At least there's no lack of entertainment so far in these playoffs...I really thought Minnesota was going to lose last night after blowing that 2 goal lead so late in the game.

Minnesota deserved to lose after blowing a two-goal lead with minutes left in regulation. But hey, that's why they play the game.

And Toronto...jeeeeeezus. Is it just me or does anyone else think that Toronto is a loaded team that lacks a certain "killer instinct" to put a game/series away?

It's going to be catastrophic for the NHL if both the Red Wings and the Avalanche lose in the first round, considering that none of the other teams have the national presence both of those teams do, so the ratings would probably be in the shitter. That said, the only thing left that would please me about the Western Conference side of the playoffs would be both the Avalanche and Canucks losing in the first round.

Thats the problem with the NHL, they only highlight the "top 5 teams" all the frieking time. While Detroit is great, do we really need to see either them, or Colorado every fucking saturday on ABC? Cant a Toronto v St Louis game be exciting? Cant the Mighty Ducks have a terrific game? Tampa Bay has shown they can defeat Jagr and the Caps, but I never saw them on TV until the post season. At least the NFL will show EVERYBODY play, just like Baseball.

I would LOVE to see a Mighty Ducks v Tampa finals. Quality Goaltending, intense play back and forth, some high scorers on both teams. To me, that is more fun than watching Colorado beat on some poor east conference team, or Detroit spending 100 Million on old talent, and having to watch them get ALL the calls.

GO WILD!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Wow, if only it wasn't the Avalanche they had to beat. Oh well, even if I cheer for four teams, there can be only one.

This year, let's go WILD!!!!!!!!!!!

Agreed. It's a lot easier to get over a 6-1 loss than it would be had they lost in double or triple overtime. I was already doing something else mid-second period.

Those were the three teams I was rooting for, but I really didn't think the Wild would pull off the upset, and I had my doubts that the Flyers would avoid their annual first-round collapse.

Somewhere in a hotel in Canada, some of the Flyers are gingerly approaching Roman Cechmanek and asking "Roman, what are your plans if we don't score for you THIS year against Ottawa?"

I'm delighted to say that my faith in the Canucks was completely justified as they owned the Blues last night. Great game...my throat is raw from screaming and my head hurts from post-game celebrating. Once the 'Nucks established the forecheck in game 5 the series completely turned their way, to the point that the Blues' defence looked tentative going into the corners to get the puck. Bertuzzi's hit on Salvador last night might have been the hit of the season. Best of all, on his 27th birthday Dan Cloutier erased the demons of last year and prved that he was a clutch goalie. After the Blues scored one minute in Clouts shut the door, stopping four golden chances in the next 7 minutes and preventing a repeat of the game 1 meltdown

Watching the game here in St Louis on the local WB affilitate, they gave Vancouver NO RESPECT. I am not a blues fan, so it didnt bother me to see them lose, but, to collapse after a 3-1 lead in the series, it shows they just dont have the killer instinct. Hopefully Osgood will stick around next year. He may be TERRIFIC if he plays all season here.
