Zims, we have a small problem. I attempted to paste a rather long HTML link into a post earlier, and the board construed some of the punctuation in the URL as a smiley and slapped the IMG tag right in the middle of my link. Would it be possible to have the code ignore the stuff in between the < >'s?

I'd suggest enclosing them in [link] and [/link] tags on the rare occasions that happens.
(If I find your link later, I'll do a workaround using ampersand codes, though)
That's ok, I fixed it myself. does the <a href= tag allow me to make my own words up for the link? If it just uses the URl, then that won't work too good, because the one in particular I was using was 3 or 4 lines long.

Actually, in defense of the code, it did what it was supposed to do. [link ] IS supposed to be substitued with the <A href= that appeared.
So, to answer your question now that I understand it [link ] just uses Click Here because it was a huge pain to try to make it let you enter the name of the link (and would have required a third code - which blew the ease of using [link ] and [/link ]
maybe i missed it, but now none of my smilies work, like in some of the other threads...[it works in this one]
maybe i should go read the FAQ and see if the codes have been changed...

The Banished folder used to be a guilty pleasure of mine. It was the occasional fuck-up thread or a thread that ended in a ZIM clever remark. Now it is just full of crap that used to be deleted and forgotten with no fan fare.
