Hey CRZ...notice you've been doing a lot of editing to create links lately.

How about giving us non-HTML using morons a tutorial to save yourself the trouble...

Two ways to do it...

1. You can use the [link] and [/link] tags to create the "Click Here" automagic link (which opens a new window if clicked)

2. You can also use the raw HTML - here's an example using a dummy link: <A HREF="http://link" TARGET="_blank">http://link</A> would create http://link. The TARGET="_blank" basically says "create a new window when I click;" you can leave it out and clicking the link will open it in your new window.

If you need more information, feel free to PM, IM or email - or go check out w3.org ;-)

Let's see if all that came through...

So THAT'S how you open a new window on that.

I had just been doing the raw HTML (since I knew it), but I'll start adding in the new window stuff now.

Thanks.

I use the [ link ] tags, and go in and edit it to say what I want it to instead of Click Here, since I am HTMiLliterate.

Okie -- so I've linkified in the past, but in the html code, how do you make it so that the link is worded other than the link itself (i.e. "Click Here")?

If you're using the A HREF and /A tags, whatever you put between them is what shows up on the screen as your link.

Another example:

<A HREF="http://CRZ.net/">My home page</A>

becomes

My home page

Hope this helps!

RDZ -- He did put that in the first... he just dummy-proofed it in the second one.
Gracias, and I'll be sure to linkify in the future.
