Well, we'd usually put it up around the 27th of the month and take it down like a week later. When I got another job, I kinda stopped putting it up again. I thought it was available in some other thread but I got tired of searching, so here it is again. Hopefully, the search engines will answer with this thread next time I do a search on "Paypal site:the-w.com"
Failing THAT, you can always plug "chris@kzim.com" into PayPal (which is pretty much all the button does).

For me to answer that would be to invite all sorts of evaluations of our hosting deal, so you'll understand when I decline to give you a REAL answer. Suffice it to say it's more than "free" and less than "we couldn't possibly afford this."

So, then...for those who don't have access to Paypal, or for those who choose not to use the service, how can we go about donating to the W?
And how has the donation drive gone so far?

Uhh...you could snail mail us, I guess.
And how has the donation drive gone so far?
My policy is to never answer these kinds of questions publicly. As far as I'm concerned, whatever happens anonymously will stay anonymous unless the person making the contribution wants to out themselves. General policy is "nobody but the admins knows what's coming in or going out." Hopefully, that helps to mean nobody has any regrets down the road.
Of course, if anyone wants to donate six or seven figures, we would probably say something then. :)

Originally posted by AmazonIs my payment refundable? Yes, because of the voluntary nature of Honor System payments, you may use Amazon.com's Unpay function to cancel a payment or get a refund up to seven (7) days after you make a payment--with no questions asked. To use the Unpay feature, go to your Amazon.com retail account and locate the Your Orders and Transactions section. If you are not signed in, you will be asked to do so. Click the appropriate status link, then click the "Transaction #" link of the payment you want refunded. Click the Unpay button for final directions and we'll send you an e-mail confirmation that your payment has been refunded. Because Honor System payments are voluntary, the person or organization you paid may not contest your refund request.
The person or organization you paid may also initiate a refund of your payment to you. If this occurs, we'll send you an e-mail notification. Return to help index.
Is my payment tax deductible? Neither Amazon.com nor the Amazon Honor System is a charity. Moreover the Amazon Honor System was not designed for charitable use or the solicitation of funds for charities. As a result, we cannot say whether any payments through the Amazon Honor System would qualify as a tax deductible contribution. With respect to payments that you might make through the Amazon Honor System, we suggest that you consult with the recipient site and your tax advisor. Return to help index.
Does it cost me anything to use the Amazon Honor System? No. There are no fees for making a payment to a participating Web site. To cover our administrative and processing costs, Web sites collecting money with the Honor System are assessed 2.9% of your payment plus a fixed cost of $0.30 per transaction. Return to help index.
(edited by Guru Zim on 17.3.05 1422) Willful ignorance of science is not commendable. Refusing to learn the difference between a credible source and a shill is criminally stupid.
I was going to put the button back on the index page for the last two weeks of the year, but it's really ugly and doesn't seem to be formatted in such a way that I can put it in our tabels and live with it. Nonetheless, because we ain't too proud to beg, I'm bumping this thread and reminding everyone that we will totally waste anything you wish to gift us with on popsicles and/or cocoa (depending on our internal temperature). You ALREADY tip all sorts of people who don't deserve it; give US a slice, JACK.
PLEASE let us know who you are if you make a donation using an email address and name we're not going to be able to tie to an account here. Yes, you can stay anonymous, but that will really drive me nuts - which may be your intention, I dunno. :)
