OK, freaking out a little bit here, and I need help.
I was just doing some stuff on my computer and I noticed that all of my pictures were listed under OneDrive, despite the fact that I don't, to my knowledge, use OneDrive, and I never, as far as I can recall, set up anything to go there. I don't want the photos on my computer to be on the cloud, so I deleted the folder.
Well, Windows apparently decided that if I don't want them on the cloud, I must not want them on my computer, either, because now everything's gone. PLEASE tell me there's a way to get them back. And if not, please kill me before I find out. Thanks.

It's got many of the pictures, but missing most of the pictures in subfolders--and everything recent, which makes it useless, because anything that's not recent I have backed up on an external HD.
So now that's two questions: is there any way to get back the last few months of pictures? And, can I delete all of that stuff from the cloud without doing so one-by-one? (Actually, I can't even figure out how to delete any of them. And when this is over I want to shut off uploads to the OneDrive completely.)
well, unless you emptied it, it's probably sitting there in your recycle bin.
to get rid of the cloud you have some steps.
1 stop syncing right mouse and pause to start 2. move what you want to save to your hard drive or a external 3. go to settings then choose backup - choose what you want to back up. Delete the sync tp the directories you want to stop. for example, mine includes my pictures directory 4. sign out and uninstall one drive from your PC. 5.go to the link and sign in there. Delete away. at the top there ought to be a "file" area where you can delete faster
