I think it's much better WITH the pros. They seem to have more of a desire to win than the NBA players tend to, but that might be because they (the hockey guys) are used to playing World Championships every year.
The Olympics is the greatest hockey tournament there is. It only seemed lackluster by comparison this time because the USA and Canada teams' management put flawed teams out there in comparison to the others.

There is no way that the Canadian team will be down for 2010 on home soil. I guarantee a win right now.
Haz, you can add Doan, Bertuzzi and Pronger to the 'played like crap' list. I knew from day one that Bertuzzi was bad karma, and Doan only made it due to his Phoenix connection with Gretzky.
For the next games, Canada needs a GM with no ties to a current team to avoid a situation like this.
