Some will rejoice, but some will vomit. Here it is:

------------------

WWE creative has crafted a long term plan to bring the Four Horsemen to Raw.

As of now, the plan is to have Triple H as the leader (Flair role), with Flair as the elder statesman (combo of Tully Blanchard and JJ Dillon).

In addition, WWE would add Randy Orton after he turns full heel (in the Barry Windham role) and Batista (in the bruiser/enforcer role of Arn Anderson).

No word on the timing of the angle, or if Arn Anderson would be involved with the new Horsemen. And with everything in WWE, it could change at any time.

Well, they haven't brought the Flock back yet. The Corporation, the Ministry of Darkness, and the Union remain in their respective graves. The Nation of Domination likewise molders quietly on the junk heap where it was flung. So it's not like the WWE is running around madly reassembling old stables.

Oddly enough, the only stables that seem to keep cropping up are the ones that involve the Clique -- namely DX and the nWo. Gee, wonder why.

As for the new Horsemen, I have nothing against the idea in principle, and it's certainly not the worst lineup the Horsemen have ever had. But still, I can't see it drumming up too much interest. It's the same thing that keeps tripping up the nWo and DX: everyone considers the original version the "real" one and anything that follows an inferior imitation.

I think this would be better without Triple H. He drowns everyone else out in the group, and I doubt any of them will be able to win matches without him.

With poison running through your veins, and death marching solemnly towards you, heroic acts become more of a necessity as you see your time dwindling.

Vanquishing your enemies, making amends to those you have wronged, and leaving words of love and kindness for those around you become second nature as your own mortality looms

However, true strength lies not in these last desperate acts, but in the actions of one who has to get out of bed the next day and face the consequences of doing that which you believe is right.

Well, with Big Show, Haku, and Bill DeMott (Hugh Morrus) on the roster, they can always start rebuilding the Dungeon of Doom. Or maybe not.

Randy Orton is supposed to be out for about 4 months with an injury, so I wouldn't expect this to happen for at least 3 months.

I guess I don't really mind Orton in the Windham/"Who was the other one?" role, despite my double reverse smark backlash against him. He's already jumped into the "say shit about the hometown crowd" type of heel, which I for one have had fucking enough of already. Everybody does it, Edge and Christian mastered it, let it die.

It's pretty obvious that Batista The Monster and Brock The Monster are going to be two very different things, so my hope of him getting a push like Lesnar's are long down the drain, but fuck, is Batista really so weak that he can't go it alone at all? Are they afraid to even give the guy a chance? While I am comfortable in realizing they have no faith in him, is this just another way to keep the new big scary guy away from HHH yet again, this time by being his buddy?

Bleh.

EDIT: Marty beat me to the DOD ref while I was writing. Curses.

The Corporate Ministry (Oh My God!) was fun till Vince revealed himself to be the higher power.

Also the Corporate Ministry's theme was a guilty pleasure of mine.

The Union couldn't hold the boots of the 4 x 4's, Hacksaw Jim Duggan's Survivor Series team. Seeing Duggan, Bret Hart, Hercules, and Ronnie Garvin doing Marine Corps inspired theatrics with 2 x 4's fucking rocked. Can any of you new fans imagine Bret Hart marching around with a 2 x 4 like it was a rifle? Gold, I tell ya, gold!!

Hey, now, wait a sec. You've got Ron Simmons, Mark Henry and D-Von on the same show...and they HAVEN'T tried the Nation yet? Wow.

Benoit & Angle vs. Eddie & Chavo. There is no way in hell that this could possibly suck.

And, Rock for that matter, whenever he's around.

Frankly, I don't mind a Horsemen revival, as it pretty much fits the gimmicks of the guys involved, and heel stables have always been a favorite of mine.

But, really the only old stable that came back to life was the nWo. The DX thing was only one segment, and that was only to set up a HBK/HHH feud.

Plus, Long Term Booking. Isn't this what we've been clamboring for?

Since everyone else is doing it (ok, not EVERYONE, but...)

Vikings (1-4) - A win is a win.
Badgers (5-2) - Indiana? INDIANA?!?! *sigh*
Twins (OUT) - Oh well, if we're still around next year...

What? We're like 10 replies in and no one has mentioned either the DOA or Boriquas, the dominating forces of the Gang Wars 97. What about the Truth Commission? Oddities? LWO? Triple Threat? or even though they weren't officially a stable my personal favorite was team RECK (Rhyno, Edge, Christian and Kurt).

One thing about stables though, I always thought they did very well with DX. It was the only stable I can remember that had a full story arc with it. It started out with three, then they dropped dead weight and got stronger and quickly became fan favorites. As they got further along and they were beginning to get stale, some members of the group looked onto bigger and better things. In fighting ensued until a reunion as heels. And finally most of them just withered away into nothingness.

Much like most succesful rock bands.

I've got some tapes like this...I actually have Superstars from Superbowl Suday with a Fatal 4 ways tag elimination match involving the Godwinns, Body Donnas, Owen/Davey, and Doug Fernus/Phil Lafon I think.
