Do you dudes still think Daniel Bryan is supposed to be a heel?
Maybe there will be a swerve and the storylines will sync up and Bryan will end up winning the competition. Or maybe the competition is [joke about ending of Lost] and Bryan [joke about ending of Lost] a couple of months ago in his match with Great Khali.
Season finale already? When do we meet the cast of season 2??
The shot of evil smirking Michael Cole needs to be inserted into the "What the world is watching" intro thing they do before all of the shows.
In fact, rehire Ric Flair to put together a video package of the history of the WWF to the tune of a shitty Kid Rock song - but put evil smirking Michael Cole, naked chicks, and a giant explosion at the end.
I love it...the Daniel Bryan pseudo-shoot stuff reminds me of the good ole Matt Hardy/Edge stuff a few years ago. Striker's commentary of the replay of Miz getting punched was a nice touch as well.
I spent the whole show wondering who else besides Punk was missing as the Pros...I completely forgot that Carlito was one until about 2 minutes left in the show. Way to go.
Originally posted by thechiefI found it hilarious that "Season Finale" wasn't mentioned until the very last segment of the show. Pretty much sums up this whole show in a nutshell.
I think they mentioned it in the first segment as well.
Wade Barrett should win NXT just for calling Heath Slater the "Ginger Ninja." Awesome.
Slater going home was no surprise.

So this is definitely a face thing, right? The crowd went nuts for it, and Cole was a total heel. I hope they pull that Cole across to Raw.
The five rookies that appeared tonight all deserve some kind of role on the main shows. Barrett and Danielson in a major way, of course, but the other three would make good midcarders at the very least.
Regal's awesomeness can never truly be quantified, did you see the look of disgust he gave Hardy when he thought he had bumped his left suit sleeve into Hardy's sweaty arm?
Barrett's the winner, and I wouldn't be surprised if he is inserted into a Fatal 4-Way for either the IC or US belts.
Or he asks for a Unified Tag Belt shot as a gift to Jericho.
In-ring Gabriel looked better and Otunga bounced around and sold pretty well.
Lastly, Hardy's trailer park backyard wrestling attire has to go.

Ah, don't worry about his outfit, just let the whole man go. I think it's about time. He could do a TNA reunion of that big tag team he once was a part of together with .... Shannon Moore?

This was my first thought too. Not so much that Cole was better than Mcmahon was back in 97/98, but god damn if he didn't pull off the best impression of Vince I've ever seen. Everything from his attire to his facial expressions to his speech inflections (especially noted when he said lo-ser) all just ooozed McMahon.
This just reaffirms my belief that Cole has been extremely bored the last five years, and just needed something creative to light a fire under his ass. I still think he should leave the booth and take a different role for a while. By the way Josh Matthews ran circles around Striker last night, he seems ready.
Not a bad show to follow up on last week's Daniel Bryan attack.
I am finally relieved to see Heath Slater gone.
For the second week in a row, Daniel Bryan snapped and attacked Cole and I am liking the new nonsense type Daniel Bryan (why couldn't have we seen this Daniel Bryan sooner?)
Michael Cole is a bit more entertaining as a heel which confuses me why on NXT he is a total heel but on Raw, he turns more towards face (except on Bret Hart when he won the US title).
And as for the 'season finale', I am not so sure about another season as I would call it a 'series finale' if anything. This week's and last week's episode were good and entertaining but it doesn't make up for the ratings NXT has received in the past few months.
He's a whiny guy complaining about how management is unfair to him, while Michael Cole is absolutely correct in pointing out how big a loser Danielson is.
Still don't think they've worked out what they're doing with Miz.

To engage in annoying smark fantasy booking, I'd love to see this lead to a tag match with jericho/miz vs danielson/regal and there being a horsemen beatdown on miz.
miz - face turn (is it possible for him to be a face) super smark heel stable of jericho, regal and danielson (and maybe even barrett)

Are you saying that Danielson is a heel according to the WWE creative team or do you personally think he's being a heel and there's just a discrepancy between WWE booking and reality (like when all the faces picked on Molly Holly for being a virgin and having a big ass)?
re Danielson: The fact that we're continuing to have to discuss who's the heel in this case indicates that the whole plotline is fumbled. I don't know whether creative has muddied up the situation, or whether Cole & Danielson aren't talented enough actors to run the plan, or both. But whatever they're trying to do isn't resulting in me being either sympathetic or invested in either one of them, or generally giving a crap about what's going to happen next.
re Slater: I still think he's the one who most looked like he belonged in a WWE ring, working with arbitrary other WWE guys. He had good, solid matches with a whole gamut of guys, & always worked well & never looked lost. Barrett's my #2 -- he does promo very well, works big-man decently & has the blessing of being with Jericho. Otunga is not good in the ring at all. And Gabriel is darling & personable, but not ready for prime time.

Judging by the last two weeks' segments, I'm assuming that Danielson's clearly the face. He's the self-made man, someone who's trying to succeed in WWE in spite of management's meddling, etc. Between that and Cole's reputation with the fans as a massive tool, it doesn't seem all that muddled to me. Maybe they're just giving themselves some flexibility with Danielson, making room to spin him off into a heel down the road. It certainly wouldn't be the first time the face wasn't exactly the most noble and upright guy, nor was the heel making good points.
You wanted the best, you got... the Out of Context Quote of the Week.
"...you are not a Meat Loaf mark; you're a member of the Meat Loaf Universe. (CRZ)
Dang, Michael Cole is finally getting over the fans... I think him turning heel is great. He's also got great potential to be a future Raw GM in my opinion.

Cole is being a dick.
Danielson is being a whiny baby.
It wouldn't be the first time the heel was correct (HBK/Jericho being one of the obvious examples of the heel being 100 percent right but being a heel anyways)
Danielson is definitely the face. Cole's been picking on him since day one for no real reason.
