The AFC South # 2 at AFC North # 1, with a three-win difference between them doomsday scenario is going along just fine....

Incidentally, the last time a division champion had fewer wins than a team in their conference that missed the playoffs was 1985 when Cleveland won the AFC Central at 8-8 and Denver missed the playoffs at 11-5. There were a couple of times where a division champ had as many wins as a team that missed the playoffs, or fewer wins that two wild-card teams, but it's been 18 years since what will probably happen in the AFC this year has happened.

How does New England not get a first round bye?

Indianapolis, Tennessee, and New England are all 8-2. The tie for the AFC South title goes to the Colts because they beat the Titans in their only meeting so far this year.

That leaves the Colts and Pats, who haven't played. The next tiebreaker is best conference record. LAST week they were both 5-1 in conference games and the Patriots won the next tiebreaker. However, this week the Colts beat the Jets and the Pats beat the Cowboys, giving the Colts a 6-1 conference record vs. the Pat's 5-1 conference record.

Goddamnit people, will you please stop jinxing my teams?!? You mention your high hopes for a team on the Wienerboard sports forums, and they go down in flames. The Donkeys deserve better than that.

I fear you are forgetting the shitty hand that was dealt the Eagles by the God of late season scheduling.

As it stands we've got just one game against a losing team (Redskins) and a shed load of travelling to 'look forward' to over the next six weeks.

I'm really getting a kick out of Cincinnati (BTW I guess Marvin Lewis is a good head coach for all the teams that passed on him over the years), Well The Natti is in first place even though it is a weak division. Home field advantage with a 500 record and 3 games behind the team that's going to visit them LoL

On the NFC side who would have thought who came out of the NFC North (Minnesota) would be the lowest ranked division leader. Not me.

Hey, these two teams played earlier in the year and the Rams only won by 7. This could be closer than anyone thinks... Great to see the best Defensive coach in the league versus the best Offensive coach. Could be quite a chess match...
