Sidney Rice's fantasy value has dropped to zero with his signing in Seattle. I realize he wouldn't have gotten much with McNabb anyway, but watching Tarvaris Jackson sail passes over his head all season is going to be aggravating.
The fact that Matt Leinart opted to sign with Houston as a backup tells me that he and Pete Carroll didn't like each other very much. You can't convince me that he couldn't have beaten out Tarvaris for the starter job.
What the hell is going on in New England? Has anyone seen the real Bill Belichick?
I can appreciate Cincinnati giving Marvin Lewis one more year, but the least they could do for the guy is not blow up the team! Take away his QB, two best receivers, and RB and OF COURSE he's going to finish below .500 again!
Originally posted by StingArmyI see talk about fantasy leagues and the lockout ending, but NO ONE has anything to say about player movement?? That's just a small sampling. Big, big names changing uniforms this year. There's so much going on it's hard to keep up with it all!
What do you guys and gals think?

I think many of the names that have changed at this point amount to fantasy football. It's a fantasy if many of them will have an impact, that is. I daresay none of those 7 players you mentioned will be Pro Bowlers this year.
I think the Haynesworth and Ochocinco pick-ups are great moves by the Patriots. They needed help at both positions and there isn't much downside risk with either guy. Ochocinco and Belichick seem to be oddly matched BFFs and if Haynesworth decides to be a prick (which I don't think he will be) they can cut him and move on.
With Reggie Bush going to Miami and Asomugha (maybe) headed to the Jets there's an arms race of sorts going on in the East. Nobody told Buffalo. Poor Buffalo.

For DRC *and* a second rounder. We like. Rodgers-Cromartie might have had a down year last season but he's still young and Dimitri Patterson set the bar for CB play stunningly low so unless he forgets to turn up on Sundays he can't fail to be an upgrade.
Kolb should do fine with Arizona as well so I think it's a good move for both teams.
Vince Young released, rumored to be heading to Philly
I'm a little less keen on this rumour.....
Brett Favre also rumored to be heading to Philly
And this one can fuck right off. Thankfully, and without wanting to tempt fate, it doesn't seem likely to come to anything at this stage.

Tarvaris edges him in career completion %, TD-INT ratio, total passing yards and yards per attempt, and he killifies him in rushing yards.
Tarvaris had better support from his running game and D, but Leinart had Fitzgerald and Boldin to catch stuff and got to play in the mostly shitty NFC West.
If this sounds like I'm making a case for Tarvaris being a good QB, I'm not. Both guys suck. Tarvaris probably gets the nod by virtue of not being a tosspot.
Being a Steelers' fan, its hard to take free agency seriously since the draft is where all the action. We even got Bettis during a draft and that was one of the big deals for the Steelers in the last 20 years. I am not a big fan of re-signing Ike Taylor. I would have liked to get into the Nada sweepstakes, but its better than nothing. If Rashad, Hines and Harrison hadn't gotten into trouble during the off season, I say Plexico would be a good fit, but this team doesn't need to turn into the villains of the NFL. Even though, I am sure Goddell would like nothing more than that. I would like to see a legit O-line guy, pass rusher and another RB. Yet, they are 10 million over, so I doubt that will happen.
The Pats legit scare me if Billy Boy can light a fire under each one of their asses. Cleveland is now the third best team in that division and could be number two depending on if the Ravens can't fill their self inflicted holes. 49ers still need a QB. My Philly friends are very anxious about the trade and even more anxious about who the back will be.

It's going to be strange rooting for two guys I have never liked in Haynesworth and OchoCinco, and yet they now wear the right laundry so that is exactly what I shall do.
I'm really curious to see how Sidney Rice does in Seattle, considering that he really only had one productive year here, which was due mostly to Favre, and he's basically operating with one hip these days.
I'm not saying that he can't bee a good player, because he's got a good skillset, but even I haven't seen much out of him that would make me want to sign him to a big money contract.

The Jaguars have been one of the more active teams, agreeing to terms with LBs Paul Posluszny and Clint Session, G/C Jason Spitz, and P Matt Turk.
-I wasn't a huge fan of P Adam Podlesh, but losing him to the Bears was a surprise since I know the Jags wanted him back. That said, it's still a mighty downgrade from Podlesh to Turk.
-Poz and Session immediately upgrades the LB corps, as they let Justin Durant walk, and will presumably do the same to Kirk Morrison (who I thought they'd re-sign until the two big signings). Adding Poz and Session with Daryl Smith gives them a pretty good three-man combo in the middle of the defense, something they've been lacking for a while.
-They lost out on S Eric Weddle (and I'm glad they didn't break the bank on him), but sounds like they'll be getting S Dawan Landry. They need someone, as the safety play was the biggest problem for them last year, and they didn't address it with immediate help through the draft.
-Spitz looks like he'll replace Vince Manuwai, who came to camp out of shape and was waived. He could replace C Brad Meester in another year when Meester retires. I'd like to keep Spitz at guard and hope last year's UDFA John Ests could take over at center.
-They also released DE Derrick Harvey, their '08 first round pick. No surprise there, as I didn't think he'd make the team out of camp anyway. What a tremendous bust.

Isn't this their deal? Corey Dillon, Randy Moss, Brian Cox, etc

okay so the plan was to let our one good corner walk and then maybe pay a ton more for Asamanangnsghk for more interceptions, less tackles, and the same amount of good cornerbacks (1)?
I would like to see a ... pass rusher
to play where? Harrison and Woodley are the pass rushers on 3rd and long, they have like a million sacks. then they have two first round picks at DE ... in a rotation with two Pro Bowlers.
I say Plaxico would be a good fit, but this team doesn't need to turn into the villains of the NFL.
Plax needs to come back to show Jagr how to be a prodigal son.
I'd love it too if I was a Saints fan, because you got something for Reggie instead of cutting him, but signing Sproles was particularly inspired. You get a smaller, cheaper, healthier Reggie, and possibly a *better* Reggie. Plus, if all that talk about how important Reggie really is to the offense (decoy, etc.) is true, then you don't really miss a beat.
Hooch is crazy.
Go Pack Go! (Champs!) Let's Go Riders! (1-3, 3rd West)
Ike Taylor gets beat on a lot of plays. I don't think Nada is going to get as smoked as Taylor often did. If anything they need another CB. Rodgers threw on them at will in the Super Bowl and they were lucky to put 24 on the Jets in the first half before Sanchez starting figuring out our CB tend to suck. I appericate the new DE, but I would like to see another weapon mainly for the reason that Harrison is getting older and instead of hoping for a draft pick to work out which 85% they do, I'd rather someone with some experience as the back up. Second, on Jagr.

Agreed and I'm ecstatic that I don't have to watch Dimitri anymore. Wow, DRC and Asante - what a CB combo...wait, what... NNAMDI ASOMUGHA!?!? (espn.go.com)
Was just talking to a co-worker this morning about how the Cowboys were trying to sign him. Dear lord.
Offseasons in Philly are pretty awesome. Now I'd like the regular and post seasons to be just as awesome.

Currently protecting Michael Vick's blindside - King Dunlap. That's borderline culpable homicide. Hoping Winston Justice gets healthy is not a good feeling.
Also, if any non-eagles fan could name two of their starting linebackers without hitting Google I'd be pleasantly surprised.
But who cares about that shit. Mostly I'm thinking NNAMDI! And the stuff Mr Shh said.
I really hope KC hurries up and picks up a nose tackle since both guys they had signed elsewhere, leaving a 6th round rookie at the position. Franklin from SF is the only FA that plays the position I know. Is Cullen Jenkins a NT?
I did like the Breaston pickup. Bowe, Breaston and Baldwin could be a nice recieving corps if Baldwin is any good. At least it has to be better than Bowe, Chris Chamber's corpse, and random guy I've never heard of from last years team.
