Looking through the standings in the NFC East, I am shocked.
Philadelphia 5-2
Washington 3-4
New York 3-4
Dallas 3-5
The NFC East is the worst conference in the NFC for the first time in nearly a decade. You have Washington, NY and Philly close together, and the Cowboys close behind. All of these teams were competitors a couple of years ago (Barring the Cowboys), so why the mediocrity now? Two wins by any of the teams on bottom could concivably put them on top. I doubt there will be much seperation either this year. Come playoff time, this division will be very interesting to watch, in that "nasty street fight to the death" kind of way.
Green Bay: 6-1 Minnesota 2-5 Chicago: 2-5 Detroit: 2-5
Gee, I wonder who's going to win?
The NFC East may be a battle for "Who can be the worst team to make it to the playoffs from the NFC", but The North is easily the worst division so far.
Hopefully that doesn't continue to be that way, though...
I should have listened to spf2119 about HHH because he is the smartest Wiener around.
Since everyone else is doing it (ok, not EVERYONE, but...)
Vikings (2-5) - It's time to sweep! 11-5 baby! (Okay, maybe not.) Badgers (6-3) - Well, we won one. Thanks for playing poorly Michigan State! Buffy 7.5 earns a 9 out of 10 because Anya is really damn cool this season. The flashbacks were funny (another musical, Joss?). The continuity from past seasons was tremendous, and just about everything else clicked for me. Plus! Barely any Dawn!
I think part of it comes down to the new interdivisional schedule. The Eagles, for example, have played half their interdivisional schedule and won all of them. That gives them a huge advantage, not just in the basic record but also in the interdivisional tiebreaker. If they win the last 3 games, they will be 6-0 in the NFL East and the best anyone else can do is 4-2. Those 6 wins go a long way towards earning home field advantage in the playoffs. If you just go .500 in your 10 other games you will finish with 11 wins. I think the good teams realized this and put a premium on winning those interdivisional games in order to lock up the division and put themselves in good playoff position.
There are other factors in the NFC East like the Redskins offensive carousel, the Giants coming down to earth, and the Cowboys distraction with Smith's chase (I give him his props but where did Troy Hambrick disappear to this season. Last year they were close to splitting the carries with Hambrick gaining a about 5 yards per carry.)

how the mighty have fallen...i fondly look back at the 80s and early 90s where the NFC, save the cards, were feared...
LT's giants the Posse of the Skins the Eagles killing all 3 skins QB's on MNF and forcing Bryan Mitchell, a Rb and current Eagle, to take snaps... and who ever the satanic cowboys had...
I missed Raw, but I heard it rhymed with ass. I missed Smackdown too. It made me all shades of ambivalence. WWE is starting to suck again. The crops? Jeezum Spice! Someone stole my crops. What in the ham fat is going on. That's just poo-doo! That's just my 2.4856 Yen.
Combined record of 11-18-0, 5-13-0 against opponents outside of their division.
Granted that Pittsburgh has got their act together as of late, the division leader is only half a game above .500 with a little over half the schedule to go, Cleveland is only at .500 right now thanks to facing division doormats Houston and the NY Jets, Baltimore has been mediocre this season thanks to a decimated defense and a below average QB, and of course we know all about the Bungles.
The sad part of this new realignment and playoff format is that there's a greater possibility of a division champion qualifying for the playoffs with a record that would put them in 3rd place in most other divisions while a team with a better record but in a tougher division may not even make the playoffs. If that happens, watch for an outcry much like the one concerning the B(C)S.

Unfortunately there was no way out of it. They had to do something with the division alignments cosndiering that the 5-5-6 alignment of the AFC from 99-01 was extremely bulky when you account that AFC Central Games played ten games within their division.

I doubt you'll have to worry about all of that. The wildcards will probably come from the West(STL) and the South(TB).
I actually like the 4 division alignment. It makes for easy scheduling and magnifies the interdivisional games. Yeah, you may have a year where a .500 team wins a division but you can be sure the other 3 teams will be active in the offseason knowing that the division title is within reach.

Black Friday was the UFL Championship game - anybody remember to watch it? I sure didn't! After the first overtime in league history, the Las Vegas Locomotives emerged with a 20-17 victory over the Florida Tuskers.
