We do one of these lists every week! This week you can tell we're in the middle of summer because there's ALMOST NOTHIN' OUT. A mere 117 DVDs and 24 Blu-rays comprise this week's list of new releases.
Hovering over a title will give you Amazon's price - pre-order prices are almost always the lowest for new releases, so don't wait until Tuesday! You can click on a title to order (and we'll get, like, a nickel). If you'd like to learn more about a particular title, where applicable we've provided links to Internet Movie Database entries, tv.com episode guides, film websites/MySpaces/Facebooks/YouTube trailers AND/or links to distributor information - all links SHOULD open up in a new window so you can come right back whenever you're done getting tangentially distracted!
PICK OF THE WEEK Look Around You: Season One (The W at Amazon) (BBC, 2002) Funny sendoff of educational programming also airing on Adult Swim finally gets a Region 1 release - Kim already owns the UK releases and they're all so well done - probably includes unaired pilot, extra music and bizarre CEEFAX pages - worth your twenny bucks!
RUNNER-UP: MOVIE STARRING GAIL KIM OF THE WEEK Ninja's Creed (Royal Kill - 2009) Gail Kim, Pat Morita, Eric Roberts - Jimmy Yang sighting! Nora Greenwald sighting!
MOVIES OF THE WEEK
THE BIG ONES
The Losers (2010) This came and went back in April and I can't remember ANYTHING about it - probably because unlike every other comic-derived property, no thread was started here on it - Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Zoe Saldana, Chris Evans, Idris Elba The Losers (Blu-ray/DVD Combo + Digital Copy)
Just Another Day (2010) Wood Harris, Jamie Hector, Clifton Powell, Lil' Scrappy, Inny Clemons - I'm not sure who ANY of those people not named Clifton Powell are - maybe we can find out together at Image (image-entertainment.com) - or just watch the trailer Just Another Day [Blu-ray]
Cats & Dogs (Mcsh Ws) (USA/Australia, 2001) Yes, a sequel is coming at the end of the month, so here's this again - they even attached some movie cash to it for you Cats & Dogs [Blu-ray] I think the Blu-ray is new at least
This segues nicely into
EXPENSIVE VERSIONS OF MOVIES YOU ALREADY OWN - NEW TO BLU-RAY
Programming the Nation? (2009) The usual suspects weigh in (buy it) on sublminial advertising (buy it) in pop culture - yes, you can catch epilepsy from their website, so don't say I didn't warn ya:
The Professional (Le Professionnel - France, 1981) Jean-Paul Belmondo Taking Father Home (Bei Yazi De Nanhai - China, 2006) May 18 (Hwaryeohan Hyuga - South Korea, 2007) No, July 20!
A Town Called Panic (Panique au Village - Belgium/Luxembourg/France, 2009) A triumph of stop-motion animation (or so I'm told)! Here's their English site:
Ekti Tarar Khonje (India, 2010) JUST came out in India - not in IMDb yet
The Last Days of Frankie the Fly & Search & Destroy (1996) (1995) A Dennis Hopper double feature - don't ask why, just accept it - rescheduled from 7/6 I Do & I Don't (2007) Jane Lynch (is probably the reason you're seeing this released), Bryan Callen, Alexie Gilmore, Matt Servitto - more info and trailer at Phase 4 Films (phase4films.com) X's & O's (2007) Hmm, I listed this a year ago with the same ASIN, but with a different distributor

My Boys: The Complete Second and Third Seasons (TBS, 2008-9) I know, I can't believe they're starting a fourth season either - even scarier, THIS is the top selling TV series of the week as I type this
Super Friends!: Season One, Vol. Two (ABC, 1973) Second half of the season - Wendy, Marvin & Wonderdog completits may now rest easy (right after purchase)
BRITISH TV OF THE WEEK Being Human: Season 1 (BBC, 2009) Sexy vampire, check. Sexy werewolf, check. Sexy ghost, check. I ain't watchin', check. Apparently also aired on BBC America Being Human: Season 1 [Blu-ray] (BBC, 2009)

EN ESPAÑOF THE WEEK
It ended up down here because it's mostly TV anyway
WWE Fatal Four Way 2010 Geez, talk about using a cover as a SPOILER ALERT - price is actually better than WWE Shop (wweshop.com) - by the way, there WAS a Blu-ray Royal Rumble promised for this week, but it's been pushed off AGAIN
Check back later for the post-publication changes and if you're REALLY ambitious, craft a reply to keep this post from feeling lonely! THEN, tell all your friends to come read this and maybe the web spiders will love us again.

It's been out for months in Canada. I got it, Wrestlemania, and that best PPV matches of the year collection, all in Blu-ray.

You're in luck - it's also out 7/20 over there (The W at Amazon.ca). ;-)

Interesting. Like I said, RR is currently showing unavailable, and PPV matches of the year isn't scheduled until 8/24 (The W at Amazon). I guess Paradox is doing a better job with Blu-rays than Vivendi....?

Either I'm saving you money by showing the unquestioned highlight of the series... or I just sold it to you.
You wanted the best, you got... the Out of Context Quote of the Week.

Well I guess I probably should have then. Never read the comic, but the movie was ten kinds of awesome.

There was a thread for the trailer, which I started, but yeah, I guess I didn't start one for the movie itself. I liked the movie. It was fun.
(The Losers is the first review I wrote since abandoning giving out star ratings - Useless Trivia.)
Hardly anyone saw The Losers. More people, but not enough, saw the similar The A-Team. I guess all the dudes are really just waiting for The Expendables.
If hardly anyone saw The Losers, and they didn't, NO ONE saw The Runaways (except me). I hear The Runaways is one of the most sparsely attended theatrically released films of 2010. But I liked it a lot.
Thread ahead: RIP James Gammon (1940-2010) Next thread: Damages returns (no, really) for TWO more seasons (no, REALLY) Previous thread: Fantasia 2010: We Are What We Are (2010) Mexico
