Craig Ferguson (cnn.com)

I thought the job was basically Michael Ian Black's, but I guess not. I didn't watch much, but I really liked D.L. Hughley when he hosted. Ferguson is a likable enough guy, though. I really don't think I'll be pulled away from Conan, however.

Man what were the odds that Mr. Wick gets to be a late night talk show host? I don't think I will be watching but the whole process was really neat and almost like a reality show in setup. I too would have gone with D.L.

Good call. I've been watching all of the guest hosts....and he was easily the funniest one. Kinda seemed like he was the only one who wasn't trying to be just like Kilborn. He seems really comfortable hosting.

I seriously doubt Hughley was trying to be Kilborn, seeing that he's easily twice the star Kilborn ever was. Why would anyone want to be like that idiot?

This guy should be okay, but Conan winning every week until he takes over from Leno is virtually a foregone conclusion at this point. He's got ten years of goodwill with the Late Night audience and the added endorsement of taking control of the biggest show there is in 2009, so unless Jesus Christ returns and wants to be on CBS for some reason, I can't see them winning a single week.

Haven't seen any of the shows as I'm watching Conan at 12:30. However, I must say that I love D.L. Hughley from what I've seen of him elsewhere. He's appeared a few times on Bill Maher's show and always blows me away with both his knowledge and his humor.

I haven't seen Craig Ferguson anywhere besides Drew Carey. However, I always thought he was one of the stronger characters on the show (I mean, the show died pretty fast when he was removed (although it started dying before that anyway (first few seasons were great, but man did the show go downhill in the later seasons (but I digress...)))), so I'll definitley check him out and see how he is.

The answer to WWE's financial problems...

Never 'Wiener of the Day', and is actually quite bitter about it.

Touche. I really thought M.I.B. was trying to be too much like Kilborn, and generalized. DL was good, and was my second choice, but when I watched him, it didn't entertain me as much as when Craig hosted. The audience really seemed to respond to Ferguson too, especially after his first stint.

Saving Grace was a pretty smart movie. Sci-fi geeks will remember him as Confidence in the Confidence & Paranoia episode of Red Dwarf. He almost landed the Lister role.

X-E's co-Worst Poster of all time! JKyle.com says:

Craig was the greatest guest Conan ever had. Or at least one of the greatest. Wicked sense of humor, brusque Scottish accent...

That he's now COMPETING with O'Brien is almost as good as if Corolla had gotten the job.

Has there ever been a British talk show host in the U.S?... I think I remember a day-time chubby British accent host but that show was more of the "Murray Povich/Montel Williams" variety.

smark/net attack wienerville advisory holds at ORANGE alert - High (JBL is STILL WWE champion and now smarks arch enemy HHH is the World Champion. Major red threat, but the undercard seems okay. The alert holds... for now)- 9/19

Does Graham Norton's run on Comedy Central count? (That's not still on, is it? That lasted like a week or so.)

Graham Norton STINKS! And I think Jim Norton should have his own show.

Well, there was Ainsley Harriet, whose show ran on NBC back around 2000 or so. He was a tall, British, black man who was also a chef and would cook for his celebrity guests. Then he'd do this dance that reminded me of Phil Collins dancing with Phillip Bailey in their "Easy Lover" video...

It was a forgettable show though, I don't hold it against you. It only lasted one season and I only watched it between classes, that's how I remembered it.

As far as Craig Ferguson, I always found him funny on the VH-1 "I Love the (decade here)" shows, so I might catch him on the show, when I can stay up that late. I kinda saw the writing on the wall for Michael Ian Black when he did a whole show donating blood... I didn't find that remotely funny and kept wondering how low in the barrel of crap did they dig to come up with that.

Meg: Being a single mother is hard, but the real challenge is having a baby that's addicted to crack. Right Stewie?

Stewie: What's that? Oh yes, yes, I love crack. I'm absolutely cuckoo for crack.
