I'll probably start doing this on a weekly basis. Let me know if it's worth it or not - or use these releases as a jumping off point for your own commentary - or spend money! We accept all emotion!
MOVIES PEOPLE WATCHED: (The W at Amazon) (also available in Blu-Ray) (also available in Fullscreen)
Oh man, when this movie was released, my then-girlfriend dragged me to see it about seventeen times. Funny thing: the house that Toula's family lived in was about ten minutes driving from my old apartment building in Toronto, and while it had the columns in front of it, in reality, it lacked the Greek statues and the painted garage door. Funny when you see stuff like that.
The Amazon page really doesn't explain why this is a two disc set. Or did I miss it?
(edited by Oliver on 2.1.07 1120) You're kidding me!
It is a good idea. Only possible tweak would be to tell us what is coming out the next Tuesday instead of the current Tuesday so that we could pre-order something of interest.
The Horsemen DVD is 3 Discs and 9 hours. Let Us Rejoice and Sing Its Praise.

You could always try IMDb, they usually tell you 6 to 7 weeks ahead of time.

Wellllll I thought about that, but even with a pre-order there's no way Amazon will get it to you on the day it comes out (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong), but I may make it a weekend post since weekends are usually kinda dead anyway (and I usually have more free time when I'm not at work, or so the theory goes)
But what about including notable music releases as well? While I usually know about the major album releases hitting the shelves, every so often there's a "Best of (insert artist name here)" that flies under the radar.
Now, if someone can point me in the right direction to finding the release dates of Scrubs Season Five and The Shield Season Five, I'll be happy happy happy.

Shield: 3/27/07 (US & Canada) Scrubs: Previews available on some current releases promise "Spring 2007" - I would guess May? (That's when S1 and S3 came out)

I haven't received it on the release date by pre-ordering but I've received it within 48 hours of release even using the free 5-9 business day method of shipping, with a price adjustment in my favor due to getting the lowest pre-order price. If I waited for the release date, it would easily be at least a week later receiving it when factoring in the processing time. The weekend is actually a good idea as it provides processing time, and, if you are desperate to get it the day it comes out, you know in advance rather than finding out that afternoon.

Awesome, CRZ. I googled both up until a week ago and got nothing. Were those on IMDB?

www.tvshowsondvd.com has a release schedule as well (through April at this point), and daily updated news bites on tv shows coming out on DVD.
I'm pretty sure that the show had pretty high ratings during its run. That is, of course, until Lawrence allegedly started abusing drugs and Arnold sued him for sexual harassment. Sorta went downhill from there.

Martin was a pretty great show the first 2 or 3 season and had tremendous ratings. Brother Man was best. It started sucking near the end, like most shows do. And I thought it was Tisha Campbell that sued him for sexual harrasement. Arnold actually is playing his wife in Wild Hogs, so I doubt it was her.
(edited by DirtyMikeSeaver on 3.1.07 1554) Kevin Kelly: "Mr. Austin, would you like to comment on Wade Keller's Take that endorsing the XFL hurts your anti-authority character?"
Steve Austin: "Oh shit, he actually said that? I thought the boys in the back were ribbing me!"
Kelly: "No, he really said that. Did they tell you the part about you sitting in the stands, looking all skeptical?"
Austin: "AHAHAHAHAHAHA. Yeah... oh man that was too much."

100% correct DMS. For some reason I had Tichina Arnold's name in my head even though "Gina" was the person I was thinking of.

I'd kill to only had to have watched this seventeen times. Her dad is my landlord, so you can imagine how versed you have to be in the movie to have a conversation with the guy (regardless of the starting topic, btw).
Super nice guy, not really accurate in the movie at all, but I guarentee you if the special features are anything worthwhile I'll know about it shortly.
There is, however, one IMPORTANT release you missed. This is because I saw it at Target and had to buy it. I bought the first volume of the Super Mario Bros. Super Show. They had both volume 1 and 2 on display for this past Tuesday.
But now after looking at that www.tvshowsondvd.com site, I'm confused. This is definitely the first week it was available from Target, but the site lists both volumes as having come out earlier last year.
I just had to watch the Legend of Zelda cartoon once again, so I think I made a great, if incredibly cheesy, purchase.
