The Nets announced the move Sunday shortly after ESPN.com's report that Frank would not coach the Nets in Sunday night's road game against the Los Angeles Lakers, when New Jersey tries to avoid matching the worst start in NBA history.
Nets assistant coach Tom Barrise will coach the game in L.A., but the Nets' announcement said that Frank's permanent replacement has not yet been chosen.
It's WAY too early to say for sure, but never to early to speculate. Are the Nets already tanking for next year? Considering they're well under the cap, you have to wonder if they're also trying to land the #1 pick to entice LeBron James in the offseason. (End conspiracy theory)
I would welcome the Nets into the Futility Hall of Fame, but the Lakers can be pretty bad when they sleepwalk through a game like this. And they WILL sleepwalk through this game. Maybe the Nets can win tonight.
And godspeed Lawrence Frank. You will never coach in this league again.
Nets were playing with 8 healthy players for most of the season, and they were picked to be a low 20 win team when healthy coming into the season, so it is less tanking games and more they suck.
These uniforms are supposedly similar to the Cavs' uniforms from back in the 60s or something like that. I think all they really cared about though was changing to ANYTHING else.
