RETURNING MID SEASON Chuck, Celebrity Apprentice
PREMERING IN FALL The Jay Leno Show - What more can be said? This means five less hours of prime-time programming a week that NBC has to do. Universal Media Studios.
Trauma - medical drama set in the world of first responder paramedics. Universal Media Studios.
Parenthood - Adaptation of the 1989 movie. This covers the goings on in the Braverman family as the 4 siblings each struggle with beng parents. "The star-studded cast includes Peter Krause, Maura Tierney, Craig T. Nelson, Dax Shepard, Bonnie Bedelia, Monica Potter, Erika Christensen and Sarah Ramos." Universal Media Studios.
Community - Ah yes. "A comedy series about about higher education - and lowered expectations." Joel McHale is one of the main characters, a lawyer who has had his degree revoked and is forced to reattend college. Also Chevy Chase. Universal Media Studios.
PREMERING MID SEASON
Day One - Residents of an apartment building attempt to remain alive while rebuilding society after a global catastrophe, while at the same time unravel the mysteries of what happened. Universal Media Studios. Gee, why haven't they ever tried a show about about the survivors of global apocalypse before? It sounds like a sure-fire hit!
Mercy - medical drama focusing on nurses. Universal Media Studios. If anyone has any other ideas for a part of medicine that doesn't currently have a show about it, please send your ideas to NBC.
The Marriage Ref - celebrity judges settle marriage disputes.
100 Questions - formerly "100 Questions for Charlotte Payne". Charlotte takes a 100-question dating compatability test, and each one leads to a "poignant and humorous time in her life." Part "How I Met Your Mother", part "The Ex-List"? Universal Media Studios.
What the hell is the point of switching Chuck and Heroes around? Last I heard Heroes had 18 to 20 episode commitment. This Chuck show has been a pain before, but now I am going to pray it gets canceled.

NBC's Thursday marquee comedy night will begin with the only live comedy between 8-10 p.m. on any network, "Saturday Night Live Weekend Update Thursday" (8-8:30 p.m. ET), followed by "Parks and Recreation" (8:30-9 p.m. ET), "The Office" (9-9:30 p.m. ET) and the new comedy "Community" (9:30-10 p.m. ET). After "Saturday Night Live Weekend Update Thursday" completes its multi-week run, "Community" will move to 8 p.m. and "30 Rock" will debut at 9:30 p.m., enabling NBC to feature more original comedy than ever before.
THURSDAY 8- 8:30 p.m. "SNL WEEKEND UPDATE THURSDAY" (multi-episode run) 8:30-9 p.m. "Parks and Recreation" 9- 9:30 p.m. "The Office" 9:30-10 p.m. "COMMUNITY" (moves to Thursdays 8-8:30 p.m. after multi-episode run "30 Rock" returns) 10-11 p.m. "THE JAY LENO SHOW"
-Community will premiere in the 30 Rock timeslot until SNL Weekend Update Thursday airs all of its episodes. Then, Community moves to 8 to make room for 30 Rock at its normal timeslot.
-Heroes will get its 18-20 episodes. And you'll get them with no breaks in between, because it will finish right before the Winter Games begin on Feb. 12, 2010. Chuck premieres after the Olympics. No need to complain here or blame Chuck. :-)
* NBC has pulled the plug on My Name is Earl. The show's sidekick, Ethan Suplee, confirmed the news via Twitter. "Just got the call that My Name Is Earl has been canceled," he wrote. "They sure did take their time with that decision -- or rather informing us of it." An Earl insider says execs at 20th Century (the show's producer) are in discussions with Fox and ABC about picking up the four-year-old comedy.
* NBC has passed on ordering another season of Medium. However, CBS, which owns the show, is expected to pick it up and pair it on Fridays with Ghost Whisperer.
Here's the schedule:

It's their great annual plan to always keep a long buffer between 30 Rock winning the Emmy and the show actually being on TV. But I'm pretty sure there's no presidential election this year so at least Tina Fey won't capture everyone's hearts this year during the same timeframe.
Asked for his take on NBC's unceremonious cancellation of his single-camera comedy today, Garcia didn't miss a beat: "It’s hard to be too upset about being thrown off the Titanic."
There's a few other not-so-positive comments from Garcia in there as well. Both he and Jason Lee are open to moving to another network, so this might not be the end of it.
We all have ways of coping. I use sex and awesomeness.

Originally posted by John OrquiolaHey, what the hell? Besides no 30 Rock in January, are we not getting Friday Night Lights on NBC at all until fall 2010? That's some bullshit, man.
Sorry for the mistakes everyone. I was hurrying to finish it. 30 Rock is coming back. I also read something in the press release about Friday Night Lights airing in the summer. I assume that meant summer 2010.

I'd go see that!
Have we had any podiatrist shows?
How about a traveling one? Call it "Toe Truck". (groan)
the Thursday comedy block and SNL are the ONLY NBC shows I watch at all these days. And most of the time I'm catching up with the comedies on HULU as I'm usually out Thursday nights.
