Didn't catch most of the first couple days, but I could have sworn Blake Griffin was going to land on his head or his tailbone during the car dunk like a good Clipper boy would. I'll bet their entire fanbase was holding their breath during that one.
After he nailed that, there was no way McGee was going to catch him. Hey, how come McGee didn't get a car or something?
EDIT: Also, though I'm no Heat fan, I found it hilarious that James Jones beat Paul Pierce and Ray Allen in the three-point shootout. Quite frankly I think either one or the other of Pierce and Allen should have competed in the contest, but not both.
The NBA should make a greater effort, I think, to make sure that every team has some kind of representation in All-Star weekend.
And as a Pacers fan, I think a Shooting Stars team of Reggie Miller, Danny Granger and Tamika Catchings would smoke everyone else.

This entire weekend has been The Blake Griffin Show. The dunk contest was great, but that alley-oop bounce pass from John Wall during the Rookie/Sophomore game is still the highlight of the weekend for me.
I usually don't get too impressed with the dunk contest because it seems they got so contrived in the dunks the last couple of years. But damn, this was amazing to watch. My favorite dunk was the one by Griffin when he stuffed his whole elbow into the net like Vince Carter and just hung there for a good minute. I'm still looking at that wondering how that doesn't hurt more than what he was showing. Really though, all of his and McGee's dunks were sick. Arguably the best dunk contest I have ever seen.

Pierce is was the reigning 3-Point champ, and Ray just broke the all-time record for 3-Pointers ... Seems logical to me for both to participate ;)
As for the Slam Dunk competition, I'm sure some people were put off by the gimmicks (Ibaka had a whole damn skit planned out with lines for the little kid and everything), but All Star Weekend is supposed to be just for fun and not to be taken seriously, so I enjoyed it ... Although the setup for Griffin's "car dunk" may have crossed that line and been just too over-the-top; I agree with Barkley, the choir singing and Kenny Smith preaching was all building up to what turned out to be just an average-looking dunk (all sizzle and no steak, as they say).

He slammed his hand into the backboard on one of his 360 attempts in the first round. I was sure he broke something there, but I guess he's OK.
I'm guessing the plan might have been for him to dunk over the roof (and Baron Davis), but played it safe and went over the hood when he knew he had it in the bag.
What was up with Cheryl Miller grabbing that kid by the neck?

It's my understanding that the NBA rules typically only allow one member from a team to participate in any of the All-Star Weekend contests but they made a special exception here. I wish they had done the same thing for DeAndre Jordan and the dunk contest!
Speaking of the dunk contest: WOW! That was pretty cool. I've been fearful since the day he announced he'd be in it that Blake Griffin was going to maim himself. Glad I was wrong. Pretty great performance but the showmanship and build-up surrounding the car dunk was better than the dunk itself. Which is fine, because if he tried to dunk over the passenger compartment then he would have broke his neck. Personally I prefer his very first dunk which looked to me to be a Statue-of-Liberty-into-a-360 which I thought would have been impossible. If he had hit that on his first attempt the building would have exploded.
Having said all that, Serge Ibaka was robbed his time in the spotlight. I can count on one hand the number of people who have attempted a free throw line dunk and made it without completely going past the line: Dr J, MJ, Brent Barry, and Serge Ibaka. I guess the free throw line dunk attempt is just too played out at this point to get much recognition. It's certainly the least creative dunk contest idea in existence these days. DeMar DeRozan's second dunk also should have gotten more love.
