    HIROKO
    The Bashams

    Scotty 2 Hotty
    Tyson Tomko
    Rosey
    Marky Henry
    Garrison Cade
    Chris Nowinski
    Val Venis

Really, anyone from that list better be hoping they dont get any calls from management in the next few days. This is gonna be interesting with who they use on the B shows now. Maybe this means more upper card wrestlers on Heat/Velocity?

That's exactly what I was thinking in regards to better Heat/Velocity matches. We've been getting more and more upper-tier talent on those shows (especially Velocity) as of late. Maybe this is their way of boosting the ratings for those shows and having them actually mean something.

The only one on the release list I'm hurting over is Stamboli, but I always had a soft spot for him since his feud with Terry Funk in WCW.

The rest, well they're competent... but just that:

-Gail was Molly's lackey and no much more..
-Chuck hasn't done anything since Chuck-a-billy..
-Rodney Mack wasn't anything special and teaming him up with Jazz and Teddy long didn't do anything for him either.
-Jazz was good, but doesn't fit the WWE diva model and was nowhere near Chyna in the beast department.
-Nidia's best moments were with Jamie Noble, who's already gone.

Ya know, I'm starting to see a pattern..

Chuck/Billy(Chuck-a-Billy)... gone!
Mack/Jazz (worked together with Teddy Long)... gone!
Nidia/Noble... gone!
A-Train/Test(T and A)...gone!

So if we follow this pattern...

Stamboli/Nunzio... gone!
Gail/Molly... gone!

And the coup de grace...TEDDY LONG

Now that would totally suck! Ya hear me playa?

As for Kane's list, I agree with everyone but Mark Henry. They've had years to release him from that ludacris 10 million dollar contract and have NEVER done it.

I almost want Val to be released, so he can actually be utilized by SOMEONE. He has to be one of the most mishandled wrestlers in history. He has the look, he has good mic skills, he's a good/great wrestler and they stick him in a freakin' towel! Morons!

You know if TNA had some money and brains, this could be bad for Vince. However, since TNA is all about mid-carder for life Jeff Jarrett, he'll be fine. Its just the wrestleres who didn't get a $70 million bonus this year are the ones you have to worry about.

I'm really going to miss both Gail and Nidia. I've been a committed Heat/Velocity watcher for a while (they often have better matches than Raw/Smackdown) and the ladies have been tearing up Heat for a while now. Nidia especially was impressing me. Gail has always been solid. This is a big loss for the women's division, which doesn't get much respect despite outwrestling the men half of the time.

I won't miss Chuck though.

As a women wrestling fan, this is not good. You know Senton you say women wrestling is all about being pretty. I say BS to that, example look at SD. All pretty faces with no substance at all. How much sustained presence do the SD women have compared to Raw women. Raw women had a major role on their show because they actually have talent... Agree with Omega, Jazz was part of the 4 cornerstones of women wrestling with the names he mentioned in 02-03. Not because she's pretty but she can get it done in the ring & work with others. Sure 2004 is a down cycle for women wrestling, a lot of it has to do with horrible booking & planning and some of it has to do with establishing new girls, which brings us Nidia and Gail.

I'm saddened about Nidia as well, as they are wasting a million dollars for more green hosses on Tough Enough. I would say Nidia was the one who had most success from the TE winners. Maven has his yearly push and stop & lets not even talk about TE 2&3. Nidia had a sustained presence on SD as her character with Noble. She's the only woman on that show at the time that was interesting... Moved to Raw & took a few months to figure exactly what she's going to be. I saw so much promise in her encounters with Trish. Their real funny backstage interview exchange involving Nidia speaking "German" & throwing Orange Juice at Trish. They had a good match on Raw as Trish with a smart ending that they could have build on. Nidia wasn't very polish in the ring but gave a lot of effort & bumped well and you can just tell she wanted to improve and wrestle hard.

Gail started out on the wrong foot. Giving her the title on her first day in, it was just too much pressure and she just wasn't ready for it. Took them only a month to figure it out and the pulled back... 2004 you can make a case for her for being one of the top 3 overall most improved in ring wrestlers in the E. She still didn't find her catch or hook yet but the submission specialist was a good start.

As for the guys, Rodney Mack looked like he was having so much fun out there with his girl Jazz. They were out their like this hip thuggin and buggin duo. Seriously best Heat act since Stevie Night Heat... Palumbo, not to say anything bad about the recently released but IMO was one of the worst overall acts & wrestlers. Ever since his gimmick change to guy in sneakers his work looked pretty bad. Should have gone with the hobo character. His former FBI teammate did even worse since the FBI split. I did like FBI, their characters were really funny because well Italian stereotypes are kind of funny lol. I loved how they dressed & different types of Italians (Palumbo was always the best in his horrible jump suits). They were a crazy Italian chick (Dawn Marie!) away from being a real fun group.

Surreal. Has the 'E been reading my posts or something? They're actually getting rid of just about all the people I wanted gone. I will not miss the stunningly overrated Kim, and useless Nidia. I never thought much of Palumbo either way, wasn't necessarily offended by his presence but hey, if they've got nothing to do for the guy why keep him under pay?
Now if they'd just can Hardcore Holly, Mark Henry and maybe Stacy then things might come close to perfect. Either of these two guys would have been better than Palumbo come to think of it.
Can't help but wonder what the motivation is behind these clean sweeps, though.

Edit--Damn me for not finishing the whole thread before posting. Jazz gone too? That sucks, she was either the best or second best worker in the division. Why couldn't they keep her out there wrestling? It was what she was good at.
Stamboli didn't have much to offer, though he was funny with Nunzio in those backstage skits. PLEASE don't can Nunzio, btw. Mack too, was a bust unless he improved on Heat..as I don't watch the show. Overall I think the WWE is doing the right thing if they feel the need to trim things down and cut costs, but its a bit surprising. I don't recall them ever cutting so many people within a short period during my 6-7ish years as a fan. Oh well.

Man, this really sucks. These cuts seem to be getting mroe and more random. The first three guys were injured and, even if they had talent, it was kind of, "out of sight out of mind." Palumbo, Kim, etc. were expendable but shouldn't have been released. And now Stamboli and Jazz? Jazz can work and Stamboli was VASTLY underutilized. Vince has a hard on for big hosses, and Stamboli is better than anyone of the big guys. Well, at least WWE can get down to business and build to money matches like Tomko v Snitzky or Heidenreich v Anybody. Friggin morons.

*Ahem* There goes Rico aswell..... does anyone think this might be a practical joke? I thought that maybe most of them were rightfully let go, as some didn't set the world on fire in the past year (or years) or had various problems. However, some were not rightfully let go, I could have easily stood A-Train and his various bellows, or Johnny Stamboli, because now Nunzio is alone. F.B.I is no more, which makes Nunzio just some Italian wrestler. I think this has something to do with WWE apparently wanting to take on more 'big' wrestlers. They're just cleaning the room out for the hosses. (Which sorta defeats the point of Test and A-Train being released)

Oh god, RICO'S GONE?!?!?!?!?

This is, by far, the biggest tragedy of the roster-cuts, as he was a really good worker, and had a very entertaining gimmick.

Please, let the bloodletting stop!

I think you misunderstood me. I wasn't trying to bash on women's wrestling; I was trying to say that it wasn't surprising that Jazz got cut because what the WWE SEEMS TO VALUE is T&A, and she is not that.

The body is ten and maybe rising. I thought they were going to do the heel Haas angle with him dumping Jackie and then having Rico make the save. At least, that was one of the rumors, I heard. Man, this is bad, but CRZ's quote/picture are funny, so I don't even know how to feel.

Damn. I'm bummed about the Rico cut. He had a different moveset than most WWE guys (spinebuster, punch, chop, repeat), and as out-there as his gimmick was, he played it perfectly.

Now I'm a bit ticked. Rico is a great guy, was always doing all the autograph-signings, was willing to do with the gimmick they gave him and play it to the hilt, was always hustling and does an absolutely beautiful moonsault.

I've enjoyed his work since the first time he showed up in OVW back in '99. You could tell he was a guy that LOVED what he was doing and it showed in his performance.

Okay, this is getting ri-God-damn-diculous. The women's division now consists of Molly, Victoria, Trish and Lita, and on top of that both Nidia and Gail went through some sizeable surgery almost exclusively for the company in the past twelve months. Nunzio and Haas-plus Jackie-have lost their partners with what I'm sure will be no explanation whatsoever. A-Train was solid, dependable and very, very unique. "Custom" Chucky P fights thru a dumbass gimmick to have a BOSS singles match on, Heat then gets FIRED the week after. Who the fuck are they gonna plug in all these fucking great holes? If explanations and/or rationales aren't forthcoming, I can feel this becomnig a straw that broke my camel's back. Or something.

Once upon a time in China, some believe, around the year one double-ought three, head priest of the White Lotus Clan, Pai Mei was walking down the road, contemplating whatever it is that a man of Pai Mei's infinite power contemplates - which is another way of saying "who knows" - when a Shaolin monk appeared, traveling in the opposite direction. As the monk and the priest crossed paths, Pai Mei, in a practically unfathomable display of generosity, gave the monk the slightest of nods. The nod was not returned. Now was it the intention of the Shaolin monk to insult Pai Mei or did he just fail to see the generous social gesture? The motives of the monk remain unknown. What is known, are the consequences. The next morning Pai Mei appeared at the Shaolin Temple and demanded of the Temple's head abbot that he offer Pai Mei his neck to repay the insult. The Abbot at first tried to console Pai Mei, only to find Pai Mei was inconsolable. So began the massacre of the Shaolin Temple and all 60 of the monks inside at the fists of the White Lotus. And so began the legend of Pai Mei's five point palm exploding heart technique.

I'm pretty certain that his contract is guaranteed, because otherwise I can't imagine why he'd still be around.

Well, that's it. I am officially boycotting Smackdown. And RAW might not be too far behind, either. The final straw for me was Rico getting canned. I have no need to watch Heidenreich anally rape someone else or see the ever-boring Mark Jindrak be given a push based on the sole merit that he's Golden Boy Randy Orton's buddy. (Not that I don't like Orton, but let's call a spade a spade and Mark Jindrak should have been cut long ago.)

It's frustrating to see good wrestlers like Angle and Guerrero get shoved into makeshift stables and lame feuds because it utilizes some less-than-stellar players and gives them face time. I'm also sick of seeing more lame hosses like Luther Reigns and the newest set of goofs from Tough Enough trotted out sucking up 20 minutes of Smackdown. With that said, Au Revoir Smackdown!

Rico? What....??

Ok, I don't claim to have any inside knowledge about any of this, but there absolutely HAS to be some explanation. I simply cannot imagine that the WWE would venture to release upwards of 12 wrestlers and not expect it to have a very negative effect on the company for the forseeable future. They have no roster depth now, and from everything that I've heard and seen, there is no one in OVW that is gonna step up. Is it possible that these guys who were released will be resigned in the very near future for a lower salary? That can't be right though, can it? I just think that something big has to be going on for this to be going on. It can't just be trimming the fat because if it is I think that WWE has seriously miscalculated something.

Rico is surprising.
Meltzer is reporting that there are at least 2 more cuts to come.
I think WWE is trimming payroll and getting rid of people they have no plans for. Probably a smart move. Maybe TNA will capitilize on this.
They just introduced 3 more stars this monday on RAW and I'm sure Matt Morgan & Matt Capotelli aren't too far behind.
So I don't see them ending the split. None of the people cut really made them any money so I can see the reason for the roster trimming.

and thats all i have to say about that!
