This fight was a joke. Mayweather did nothing but dodge punches and run all night. I just did not see it as huge as it was on the judges scorecards. But, I guess it just wasn't what I was seeing.
Catch the rematch, LIVE, New Year's Eve 2015! Will Manny stop swinging at air? Will Floyd throw a punch with force behind it? Will people smarten up and stop spending ridiculous amounts of money to watch two men shuffle and slide for 36 minutes? FIND OUT THE ANSWERS TO THESE QUESTIONS AND MORE FOR ONLY $149.99! Don't miss out on the BIGGEST PARTY OF THE YEAR!
Also, I figured there would be no chance at a rematch since Mayweather convincingly won the fight. But now there's Pacquiao saying his shoulder was injured before the fight.

I guess I'm spoiled by the UFC using AGGRESIVENESS as a judging criteria in scoring. Mayweather ran, danced, evaded and hugged. Sure that's "boxing", but "boxing" is fucking boring to watch.

Boxing uses "effective aggressiveness." The fact is Floyd both threw AND landed more punches than Manny, so it's hard to argue Manny was being effective at much of anything other than in spots.

Boring matches are boring to watch, whether they are UFC, boxing, WWE...boring is boring. I realize it's going to be the thing for "UFC RULEZ" guys to act like there have never been two guys dryhumping all over the mat for five rounds and getting shat on by the house, but it happens.
This was a typical "Floyd Mayweather Fight." There will never be a Hagler-Hearns classic with Floyd's name attached to it. I saw a tweet from Dan Rubenstein of SBNation.com (it's a website) that compared Floyd/Manny to the 9-6 Alabama-LSU rockfight from a couple years ago and I thought it was a good comparison.

True. Not sure what that has to do with this match, though, since both guys have demonstrated (either by their words or their actions) that they are bad guys.

Can't think that Manny's done much that would mean he would be considered a bad guy. I know he cheated on his wife, but that's not exactly unforgivable, and certainly much better than beating the ever-loving shit out of her.

According to the Unified LOLNO12TO6ELBOWS Rules of MMA, judging criteria is based on effective striking, grappling, aggression, and cage/ring control, in order of descending importance.
Judges who prize aggression before effectiveness are idiots who don't understand how to do their job but do love them some Diego Sanchez and Leonard Garcia.
And people may hate to watch Shields/old school Fitch/original run Askren/cuddle mode GSP but their ability to shutdown the striking of opponents with effective grappling is literally more important than how bad the other guys wanted to "just scrap" according to the rules.
Hell on the striking tip, I don't like Bisping and am big fan (and former student of) Leben but no matter how much harder you hit or how much more you want it while he's on his bike, if he hits you three or four times for every one time you hit him, you win. Aggression and pillow hands be damned. Forward movement be damned. The nebulous idea of control be damned.
Not an expert on boxing, but it's mostly the same there, Pac Man is the better human being by a (whole freaking) lot from what we know, but whether you're moving forward or backward it's about how many times you're landing or how well.
It's neither a street fight nor the Tenkaichi Budokai it's a sport. And them's the rules.

Well, he's also a renowned homophobe. I suppose that doesn't bother some people, but I could do without.

By "renowned homophobe" do you mean "Manny adheres to the teachings of the Catholic Church, which has been consistent on this issue for 2000 years"? And by that I mean what the Church actually teaches versus what people thinks it teaches?
If you take the time to read it, it's a hell of a lot better than a wife beater.
EDIT: dmr beat me too it, although much less sarcastic than me.

Nous ne nous pouvons pas sortir. I think StingArmy was just listing additional flaws of Manny's rather than implying anything Pac Man's ever done is on the same level as Mayweather. I hope.

Let's hug it out.
Correct. I'm not in the business of doing comparison shopping on individuals' hatefulness.

I was expecting a lot less than I got tonight from this show. There were some pretty entertaining moments, and even the main event going down the way it did (which pissed me off to no end)
