I am pretty much in agreement with grades except I would give Carolina an A since they were supposed to be in last place this year, and I would give Indy an A+ since they are the only team I can see competing with KC right now. I think Denver deserves higher than a C because if it wasnt for injuries, they'd probably have one or two more wins. I also think an A- may be a little high for Baltimore.
Mr. Burns: You are of course familiar with our state usury laws? Homer:U-sur-y? Mr. Burns: Oh silly me, I must have just used a word that doesn't exist.
I'm also in agreement with most of the grades. I also think Indy deserves an A+, but I also think New England can definitely compete with Kansas City due to the incredible job done by Bill Belichick this year. D+ is low for Chicago since they're slowly turning things around, even if it's against weaker teams. C for Miami is also low; they probably deserve somewhere along the Bs. Everyone else ESPN pretty much has fairly graded.

Injuries or not, Shanahan has earned his team's C for them with his coaching in the last two games......and Deltha O'Neal has earned himself a one way ticket to ArenaBall as far as I am concerned......
5 Time 5 Time 5 Time 5 Time 5 Time Wiener of the Day Runner-up
AFC EAST Miami New England Buffalo New York Not bad, insofar as I knew the Jets would be bad.
AFC NORTH Baltimore Pittsburgh Cleveland Cincinnati LET'S GO RAVENS!!!!!! LET'S GO RAVENS!!!!!!
Of course, nobody thought the Steelers would choke like this. AFC SOUTH Tennessee Indianapolis Jacksonville Houston Almost dead on... AFC WEST Oakland San Diego Denver Kansas City Well, THIS was quite the Snafu.
NFC EAST Philadelphia New York Washington Dallas I don't think anybody thought Dallas would be this good this quick NFC NORTH Green Bay Minnesota Chicago Detroit
This wasn't that bad. Minnesota and Green Bay are both good teams. NFC SOUTH Tampa Bay New Orleans Atlanta Carolina Whoops NFC WEST San Francisco St. Louis Seattle Arizona Whoops again SUPER BOWL XXXVIII CHAMPION and shameless homer pick: Baltimore And I stick by them, because it looks like I might be vindicated.
AFC East New England Miami Buffalo NY Jets Damn I'm smooth.
AFC North Pittsburgh Baltimore Cleveland Cincinnati Baltimore in first actually doesn't surprise me too much, but Cincy only being two games behind (plus holding the tiebreaker so far) does.
AFC South Indianapolis Tennessee Jacksonville Houston Spot on for the top two.
AFC West Oakland Kansas City Denver San Diego Except for SD in the cellar, pretty much off on my home team's division.
AFC Wild Cards Kansas City Miami Can't believe how much I underestimated Tennessee.
NFC East Philadelphia NY Giants Washington Dallas Who knew?
NFC North Green Bay Minnesota Detroit Chicago GB could still conceivably finish first if Minny goes on a choke streak. . .which is dubious.
NFC South Tampa Bay Atlanta Carolina New Orleans Can't believe I thought Doug Johnson could carry them.
NFC West Seattle St. Louis San Francisco Arizona Damn I'm smooth.
NFC Wild Cards Atlanta St. Louis See comments under NFC South.
Super Bowl XXXVIII Tampa Bay over New England As far as the matchup goes, still feasible if Tampa gets its shit together.
GB could still conceivably finish first if Minny goes on a choke streak. . .which is dubious.
Yes, since the Vikings have never choked before.....um.....

{Dr. Evil} MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! {/Dr. Evil}
Not laughing at you, Broncolanche, (*mutters something about Terrell Davis*), but seeing the inevitable purple slide always makes a cheesehead's day.

AFC West Oakland San Diego Kansas City Denver
Umm, so yeah, I don't know the AFC West anymore. I wasn't expecting Oakland to suck as much beefdart as they have, and for David Boston to be the big fat load he's become. Moving on...
AFC North Pittsburgh Cleveland Baltimore Cincinnati
Wow, all my picks are the drizzling squits, eh? Stupid Jon Kitna needs to die.
AFC South Tennessee Indianapolis Houston Jacksonville
Almost spot on here, and I'm pretty confident this is how the division will finish out. Jacksonville's the worst team in the league.
AFC East Buffalo Miami New England J-T-T-S-JETS-JETS-JETS
Didn't think Peerless Price would be such a huge loss for Bledsoe & Co., or that their line would suck so much. Also didn't think Belichek could make so much of so little. The J-T-T-S-JETS-JETS-JETS prediction warms my cruel, twisted heart, though.
Wild Cards - Indianapolis, San Diego AFC Champion - Oakland
We'll just ignore most of this, eh?
NFC West St. Louis San Francisco Seattle Arizona
Still could end up like this, but Seattle appears to be at least partially for real.
NFC North Green Bay Minnesota Chicago Detroit
" " " " " ", " Minnesota " " " " " " " ".
NFC South Tampa Bay Carolina Atlanta New Orleans
I believed the Panthers would be good. Never imagined THIS good.
NFC East Philadelphia New York Giants Dallas Washington
Sad thing is, the NFC East STILL could end like this... with all the teams at like 8-8 or somethin. Dallas has passed almost every test so far though, with the exception of that Tampa Bay disaster.
Wild Cards - Minnesota, New York Giants NFC Champion - New York Giants Super Bowl - Oakland over NYG
Let's just pretend that Oakland up there was a Kansas City.
Originally posted by Doc_whiskeyI think Denver deserves higher than a C because if it wasnt for injuries, they'd probably have one or two more wins.
But they HAVE had injuries...you can't rank based on "supposed to" or "what if." Denver's 5-4...that sounds pretty average to me, hence the C.
Yes that why the Pats get the A+. They have been hit by the injury bug worst than any other team in the leauge but they are 7-2. I still think after Vick, Rosevelt Colvin is one of the biggest injuries for any team this year.
To me I think a C for Denver is alittle high since all 5 of their wins are from teams under .500 and all 4 of their loses are from teams above .500
AFC East Miami Buffalo New England NY Jets *** Well I picked the jets correctly at last, and Miami as a playoff team. New England really surprised me and Buffalo disapoints
AFC North Pittsburgh Baltimore Cleveland Cincinnati ***Oops, Mr.XFL hasn't really had the year of last.
AFC South Indianapolis Tennessee Jacksonville Houston *** Ding ding, for the top two. I had a good feeling about Indy this year. Houston has three wins, go figure
AFC West Oakland San Diego Kansas City Denver *** Umm yeah lets move on LoL Atleast I didn't put KC last
AFC Wild Cards San Diego Buffalo *** For some reason I really jumped on The Bolts bandwagon
NFC East Philadelphia NY Giants Dallas Washington *** Parcells is a football genius. But the rest of the order is pretty spot on. Washington basement as predicted
NFC North Minnesota Green Bay Chicago Detriot *** Perfect match! This entire board overestimated GB and underestimated Minnesota. I just looked at Minny's roster and just saw too much talent there even though they got beaten by The Pack. GB is really one of the most inconsistent teams I've seen in recent memory
NFC South Tampa Bay Atlanta New Orleans Carolina ***Well after bragging in the North I'm back to reality now. With a totally wrong predictions. Putting Carolina last when they are actually firts and putting Atlanta second(oops)
NFC West San Francisco St. Louis Arizona Seattle *** Another last placer actually being in first, butthis division is actually darn close
NFC Wild Cards Atlanta St. Louis ***The Rams can still make a playoff spot. The Falcons, lets not speak of them
Super Bowl XXXVIII San Francisco over Indianapolis ***Indy looks strong in the AFC, only second to KC. SF needs to step up, their no great team (maybe Minny) in the NFC so I think it's pretty open there once playoffs are on.
AFC North Pittsburgh Baltimore Cleveland Cincinnati
...meep. We'll be moving on, shall we?
AFC South Tennessee Indianapolis Jacksonville Houston
I do have the top 2 teams in the top 2... wrong order, sure, but still...
AFC East Miami Buffalo New England NY Jets
Well, I was kinda close. I think I'll count having the Jets in last as my moral victory here. :P
AFC West Denver Oakland San Diego Kansas City
How did I last six whole weeks in the suicide league again?
AFC Wild Cards Baltimore, Indianapolis
i'm thinkin' these'll still be correct. Of course, either Cleveland or Cincy's gonna have to overtake the Ravens, and can you see EITHER of them doing that? Besides, Tennessee's gonna murdalize the Colts.
NFC North Green Bay Minnesota Detroit Chicago
Close enough... I say this'll be the final standings, but only because I'm stubborn.
NFC South Tampa Bay Atlanta New Orleans Carolina
I may be stubborn, but I'm not a freakin' MORON. John Fox, I believe in ye. And I knew Stephen Davis was that damn good... I'm allowed to forget these things.
NFC East NY Giants Philadelphia Washington Dallas
If we're going off of history to say that Parcells will have the Cowboys in the playoffs next season, I STILL maintain that I can use that history to say that Dallas was supposed to lay down to us. But I'm still thinking the Giants will lead the Eagles at the end of the season. You can't believe that our special teams will be THAT fucked up.
NFC West San Francisco St. Louis Seattle Arizona
See? Arizona's in last! That's gotta count for something!
NFC Wild Cards Philadelphia, Atlanta
Super Bowl XXXVIII Tennessee d. Green Bay
Still entirely possible, as far as the Super Bowl goes. As for the wild cards... anyone else think Reeves might not make 200 wins?
Miami deserves a D+ for the way they have played at home. Also the defense isn't as strong as it used to be is it?The problem is they let these teams hang around to end and the Fish lose by a field goal or a last second play. Also the passing game needs to be addressed in the off-season,Chrs Chambers is not the man.Instead of getting a shut-down DB(Sammy Knight-----who has played well, dont get me wrong there.)they should have went after a big reciever(Peerlice Price?) to accent Chambers.Anyway they got Derrius Thompson from the Skins and he hasnt turned heads, which is what I expected.Randy McMichael may be the bright-spot they can build on.Might he be the future Tony Gonzalez?
Originally posted by James F'n XStupid Jon Kitna needs to die.
I'm happy as a clam. 'Bout time we shook the reputation and while Kitna's not the most stand-out QB in the league, he'd doing a solid job. I'll agree with the "B+" on the report card for now, but I'm hoping that gets revised upwards as Marvin Lewis continues his path to coach of the year.
Originally posted by BroncolancheI don't know what Miami's cap situation looks like next year, but Terrell Owens might be available.
We do have some playmakers on the team (Ricky Williams, Chambers, McMichael) - our main problem, and where money should be spent, is the offensive line. They aren't blocking anyone, Ricky has no room to run, and everyone saw how little time Griese's had to throw.
Yo, it's me, it's me, it's (points to self) P-A-B!
Prices are still high and getting higher for many goods and services, even in this recession, so singling out one such practice is a bit silly to me. I think the real culprit here is cable and the NFL Red Zone Channel.
