Appalachian State. Wow, No title for the Blue and Maize this year. The first time a Div. 1AA has beaten a ranked D1 school.

Hey, thanks Big 10 network for not allowing most of the country to see this game! Great idea!

But anyway, wow Michigan. In the interest of college football as a whole I'm calling for Carr's job to be terminated before the end of the day. You can't lose that game. No matter what, no excuses. You just can't.

0-3 since Bo died. If this had been Michigan State that had done this, it wouldn't have shocked me in the least, but Michigan, in the Big House? Would never have believed it. And, thank you, local cable company for picking up CSTV this week instead of the Big Ten Network. I'd much rather listen to Jonathan Coachman call games between teams I've never heard of than the biggest upset in sports since probably USA vs. USSR back in 1980. At least someone had a worse weekend than Notre Dame. Don't think NFL teams are going to be knocking down Weis' door this off-season.

It's not just the Big Ten Network's fault - many cable companies aren't bending on their own terms. Love that DISH Network can make me pay for 4 "ESPN Alternate" channels that don't carry programming, but balk at the idea of having customers pay for a channel that carries programming.

Supposing Michigan runs the table, convincingly, for the rest of the season. Can this loss be overlooked by the sportswriters and coaches, and cause minimal impact by the BCS computer system so that Michigan still has a shot at the BCS title game? It's not as if Appalachian State was the bottom of the Football Championship Subdivision; they won the (playoff-based) championship in 2005 and 2006.

The Big 10 network people know the NFL wasn't able to strong arm cable companies into doing it that way for the NFL Network, so why they would go down a route that has already proven stupid I don't know. In other words, yeah it's their fault in my view.

Second, no Michigan is done no matter what they do. Remember Cal getting blown out by Tennessee last year? No one was willing to give them credit for anything after that. Not a thing. Appalachian State ain't Tennessee. Michigan can of course play in a BCS game by just winning the conference but unless every other team has at least two losses(not gonna happen), they're out.

I think it will only be an embarassment if Michigan ends up winning the conference. then its, "your winner lost to a 1-aa team."

I'm inclined to disagree. Michigan has given itself a reputation over the years for choking in games it shouldn't. While this is worse than ever for them, I personally see it as just Michigan being Michigan yet again. Though considering most picked either them or Wisconsin to win the conference it certainly could mean it's going to be a really bad year for the Big 10. Personally I'd expect Penn State to pick up the slack and be solid.

Currently we've got a very unimpressive looking K-State team still managing to lead Auburn and holy crap does Cal look amazing on offense. Defense...eh. Big hits, but giving too much to Tennessee. But that offense, WOW.

Question is really how far they crater in the top-25s. They can still win the Big Ten, but if they're 20 or 21 in the next set of polls I can't see them getting back high enough to get into the title game.

Though, Michigan inconsistencies aside, this is a bad, bad loss, not just because they lost to an (albeit hugely successful) 1-AA side. They had chance, after chance, after chance to put App St. away late, and still had a chance at the end to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, and couldn't do it. This could really ruin their season if it gets into their heads.

Just had this thought on another forum and thought I'd throw it out there. If I'm the Michigan AD, I've already placed a call to Terry Bowden. He's said he definitely wants to coach next year. Maybe he'd be up for starting early.

It hurts the rest of the Big Ten because some, if not all, of the BCS computers still calculate the SOS as wins over a I-A team and ALL losses.

The best App State could be, SOS wise, is 1-0 and at worst 1-(however many games they have left).

However, as opposed to last season's slate of AWFUL NFL Thursday night games, the B10 Net started off with an INCREDIBLE game that has the entire nation talking and wondering why they didn't get to see it. I must say that the thought crossed my mind as I watched it (thank you DirecTV!!!!!!!) that Michigan was letting App St stay in the game for that very purpose with the thought of putting Mike Hart back in late in the game to win it (which they almost ended up doing). Bottom line, once again, my love of the NFL and Sunday Ticket vs. being able to get WWE 24/7 proves to be a better choice (for me and my tastes anyway).

On the other hand, if Michigan wins that game 70-10, nobody's shedding any tears for not being able to see that game. I am surprised, though, that those games aren't part of the ESPN GamePlan package anymore. I guess, as a DirecTV guy, that saves me 120 bucks this year, but drastically cutting out people willing pay to watch your games doesn't seem like the smartest move.

Welcome home, men of the 2nd Bn, 127th Inf, 32d "Red Arrow" Brigade, WI Army Nat'l Guard! Good luck to those down south.

CAMP RANDALL REPORT!

Yours truly was on the sidelines shooting Washington State vs. Wisconsin...and frankly, we all kept our eyes on the scoreboard ticker, as the 4th quarter of Appalachian State/Michigan didn't finish up until late in the 1st quarter of the Badger game.

Once the final was displayed on the big JumboTron, you heard quite the cheer from Bucky's faithful. (Who also booed the PA announcement pimping the Big Ten Network.)

Good times...I think I like shooting at Camp Randall better than Lambeau. Certainly easier.

Oh, and as a Wisconsinite, my take on the Michigan game:
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!!
