You know, I'm really starting to feel sorry for Dave Wannstedt ...

Well, Miami will get at least one win - they play the Brownies this year. If there's one thing the Browns excel at, it's giving away charity wins.

NO running game, a mediocre at best QB, a wide receiver corp that is now weakened, and a mental pigmy as the head coach. Can we just jump ahead to the night of January 2nd, 2005 and say that Miami is now on the clock?

I don't know why, but I am not ready to write the Dolphins off yet. Travis Minor isn't that bad, though he is obviously no ricky Williams. Boston I never expected to really contribute much anyway. They still have Chambers, and Feidler has shown flashes of great play, albeit for very small spurts, in the past. I don't expect them to make the playoffs, because they always choke even with good players, but I can still see them as an 8-8 or maybe even 9-7 team.
They brought Boston in to help relieve the double-team on Chambers. Now that'll be back on unless Miami picks up someone (Keenan McCardell and Tim Brown being the options I've read so far.)

Snap. I think an over reliance on Ricky last term didn't do them any favours. Their offence won't be better for losing him, but it'll at least be more able to keep opposing D's off guard. Minor ain't the worst back in the league, and if Fiedler or Feeley can get it together they've still got guys to throw to who can make things happen.
Throw in Taylor, Thomas, Madison and possibly Ogunleye on D and they certainly shouldn't be the worst team around. And heck their schedule isn't the toughest in the world (Steelers early doors, 49ers, Cards etc). Doubt they'll make the playoffs but 8-8 should be well within their reach.
Yeah, based on statistics which don't really mean too much. I mean did you look at that thing? Packers above the Eagles, Raiders at 32, Panthers at a mere 13.... its mince.
The Steelers will be poorer at the start of the year, especially if they try to blood Roethi... Reothlis.... Ben. Their division (outwith the Pats) isn't too tough and provides them with four games they should still be capable of winning. Tennessee have lost a fair few players and playing them on Day 1 is probably preferable to getting them later in the year too.
They've definitely got a shitty run in with trips to the Broncos and the Ravens along with the Pats at home, but other than that I don't see there being that much to fear for them.

I got to agree there. Travis Minor is a better back then a couple of starting backs out there. I see only great things for Chambers as wide reciever, and who knows Feely might turn out to be the next Marc Bulger. The offense was overly realiable on Ricky last year, but I think that it opens the door for Chambers to become a huge star this year. Add all that to their defense that has some pretty big names and you got a decent football team.
Their worst scenerio will be if Fieldler and Feely both turn out to be busts. If that happens...so long guy with the mustache.
At least David Boston can still work on his first passion... His physique.

This is a good pickup for the Dolphins, IF this were 1998. I know they're desparate for help at this point, but this isn't exactly going to replace Boston's ability to at least take a CB 40 yards downfield.
Meanwhile, in light of the fact that no one can run the ball on anything but a 5th string defense, the Dolphins are currently shopping Ogunleye to see if they can get something, ANYTHING that can help at this point.
You have to love a team that's this desparate...at least that's what I keep telling myself. :-P
I'd be willing to give it a chance, if I actually got to see CFL games. I only catch the stray game ESPN or FOX sports MIGHT show. I barely even remember the games that were shown when the NFL went on strike many many years ago.
