The issue I'm having is coming up with someone who isn't a She-Whoever or a Something-Woman-instead-of-man.
She-Hulk could be awesome, but she falls under the category of being a derivative of another character. My brother suggested Spider-Woman, which again has potential if you use the right Spider-Woman, but again, derivative.
Ms. Marvel (Warbird, not Jean Grey) could have potential, as could a Captain Marvel story (the Monica Rambeaux version). Then there's Squirrel Girl...

I guess a wonderous Wasp can't lead a movie, so what about a Scarlet Witch/Vision movie
We'll be back right after order has been restored here in the Omni Center.
That the universe was formed by a fortuitous concourse of atoms, I will no more believe than that the accidental jumbling of the alphabet would fall into a most ingenious treatise of philosophy - Swift
It would make sense if it's Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers version, aka previously ms. Marvel)
She's being pushed as a strong, independent character. Has a military background (tie-in to Shield) and is a big hitter (which makes for good action scenes)
Yeah, sure, she could be considered Marvel's Wonder woman. Why's that bad? I'm sure Marvel would enjoy having a movie like that out before DC.
I definitely enjoyed the current run of Captain Marvel. Would be nice.
I think an even better idea is a Kate Bishop/Clint Barton Hawkeye movie. People think a female can't carry a superhero movie and people think Hawkeye can't carry his own movie...what about together?
I will say, DC is much better in this department, having Wonder Woman, Batgirl, Catwoman, Birds Of Prey, Katana.
I think any of those could be decent movies. Pretty sure storm and the invisible woman could not make good solo movies.
How about an Oscar Bait drama about Storm and Black Panther's marriage?

Storm and Black Cat are no-gos - they're owned by Fox and Sony respectively.

For now. I hate Ms. Marvel. The best thing she did was let Rogue beat the piss out of her and take her powers away. DC really has dropped the ball on this. A Wonder Woman film even if its just ok could still make them money. Green Lantern made a profit and it was dog shit.

A superhero movie with a female lead written by the typical flock of misogynistic, Hollywood writers who know nothing except writing to hormonally driven teenage boys.
A Jessica Jones movie that follows Bendis' Alias would be very cool, though the Purple Man stuff would probably be toned down to at least a PG-13 rating.
It'd also be a smooth way to introduce Luke Cage, who would be a nice addition to the movie universe Avengers team.
Alias is one of my favorite Marvel books so maybe I'm too biased here, but I can totally see this working.
