I was just able to sit down and watch this episode, a day-and-a-half late, but damn it was fun.

We start out with Drago perched atop the temple, making good on the vow that Dario Cueto would see him again. He unfolds new Batman-like wings and leaps off of the roof. Apparently he's been training with the Big Show while he was gone.

In the temple, Vampiro apologizes for his actions last week, getting involved with Pentagon Jr and Sexy Star. Striker accepts his apology on a professional level but thanks him for what he did on a personal level.

Dario Cueto is in the ring and announces Ultima Lucha in two months time. It's going to be an annual event in which the best of the best do battle. As such, he's holding a match tonight to determine the challenger for the title. It's going to be a three way match between Puma's previous challengers: Cage, King Cuerno, and Hernandez. Fenix was supposed to be involved but since Mils Muertes took him out of action, he's lost his opportunity.

Cueto then invites Blue Demon to the ring because he's a man worthy of the caliber of event that Ultima Lucha promises to be. Cueto doesn't want Demon coming in to the biggest event of the year with ring rust, however, so he's organized a match with another returning legend. Cue the entrance of Chavo Guerrero with The Crew in tow.

It's an anything goes match, so you know how this plays out. Blue Demon (clad in a suit, not ring gear) fights valiantly but eventually gets taken out by Mr. Cisco & Cortez Castro, who hold him down while Chavo hits the frogsplash for the win.

Chavo & The Crew are a good pairing. He needs henchmen far more than Big Ryck did. Interestingly enough, it appears that Big Ryck has fallen into the henchmen role himself at this point.

As we cut to commercial, Drago walks into the temple from which he's been banished.

In the basement, Chavo tells an imprisoned Black Lotus that business is business. She vows that Dragon Azteca will see that Mexico finds Chavo but Chavo vows that after what he did to Blue Demon, they won't have the guts.

Meanwhile, Drago (dressed in a new black ensemble) confronts Dario Cueto in the temple bowels. He points out that he has faced Prince Puma for the title, so he deserves a spot in the main event tonight. Cueto agrees but notes that Drago has been banished. Drago smartly appeals to Cueto's interests by telling him to imagine what he'll do to Hernandez tonight, screaming out in a draconic voice to let him fight.

Cueto agrees that Drago has found a loophole but insists on one condition. If Drago loses, he's not only banished but he must also unmask. Drago agrees.

It's time for a trios match. Out first are the Disciples of Death, the three men who have began following Mil Muertes. They're actually Argenis, Ricky Mandel, and El Mariachi Loco, and this is a great way to take three perfectly serviceable wrestlers who nobody cares about and make them interesting again. They have a great entrance, as well, with the lights cutting in and out with the sound of power surges, separate from their music, as if they're sucking the life out of the building itself.

Their opponents are the debuting Bengala along with the returning Mascarita Sagrada and Pimpinella Escarlata.

The crowd is into the match big time. The technicos get their comedy stuff in early in the match but manage to do it without making the rudos look stupid, but eventually the Disciples of Death take over. The finish comes with Katrina administers the Lick of Death to Pimpinella Escarlata, signaling for the Disciples to hit a triple-team crucifix into a pendulum facebuster. One of the disciples then squats on top of Pimpinella for one of the most unique pinfalls I've seen in quite some time.

Johnny Mundo enters Dario Cueto's office and wants to know why he isn't in the main event tonight. Cueto acknowledges that Mundo deserves a shot at Prince Puma but since he hasn't faced him before, he doesn't qualify for the match tonight. But that's irrelevant because he expects Mundo to be the champion going into Ultima Lucha. They've had their issues but Cueto has healed up from the black eye that Mundo gave him and Mundo survived all of Cueto's attempts to destroy him, so now that they're on the same page (after Mundo threw Alberto El Patron through Cueto's office window), there's no reason why they can't start fresh. Mundo will get his title shot next week. And it's going to be an iron man match that will last the entirety of the show.

These two have worked together so well that this could be a very, very good match.

It's time for the main event. Cage is out first, followed by King Cuerno, then Hernandez. Finally Drago makes his entrance and the crowd erupts. Drago has a new black get up, complete with the wings, and also has his upper chest and jaw painted, ala Finn Balor. (I'd pay good money to see those two face off.) The crowd is already firmly behind Drago, but when Melissa Santos makes the announcement that Drago's mask is on the line, their support strengthens even more.

This match wasn't as smooth as it could have been but there wasn't nothing offensive about it. Cuerno & Cage had some good double team moments, including Cage hitting a flying elbow from slightly over halfway across the ring, followed by Cuerno landing a splash. They also had a great powerbomb-lung blower combo.

Cuerno is just so crisp with his offense that he's completely believable going toe-to-toe against someone considerably larger than him. If I could transplant anyone from Lucha Underground to NXT, King Cuerno would absolutely be the one.

At some point, Killshot randomly appears perched in the balcony. He never makes it clear what his goal is, but Cuerno catches sight of him and directs his bow-and-arrow movement in that direction before hitting the Arrow of Death suicide dive. The two did do battle for a bit in the first medallion match, as well as facing off in the trios championship match, so they have a bit of history. I noted before that I'd like to see them have a full one-on-one match, so I'm glad Lucha Underground is heeding my requests, even if they're likely already taped before I make them.

The ending comes when Drago spits the paralyzing yellow mist into King Cuerno's face and then rolls him up in the Dragon's Tail for the 1-2-3.

Afterward, Prince Puma comes down and goes nose-to-nose with Drago, holding the title belt aloft. Dueling "Lets's Go Puma / Let's Go Drago" chant as the show ends.

Dario Cueto is watching the end of the match through the slats in his blinds when a finger reaches out and taps him on the back. He turns around but no one is there. He looks out the window again but when he turns around this time, Catrina is sitting in his chair.

"You made a mistake not putting Mils Muertes in that match."

"Mils has never faced Puma for the title," Cueto responds nonchalantly.

"And that is exactly why Prince Puma is still champion."

Cueto scoffs but Catrina grabs his tie and wraps it around his throat, choking him out.

"Mils Muertes destroys everything that stands in his way. So tell me, why are you in his way?"

Dario hilariously responds with "I'm not! I didn't know Mils Muertes wanted to be champion!"

"Every man, mortal or immortal, craves power. So why are you in his way?"

Cueto agrees to let Mils Muertes face Drago in two weeks with the winner going on to face the champion at Ultima Lucha.

Catrina says that's a wise choice, because "even the monster you hide in that cell is no match for Mils Muertes."
