Personally, I've been watching since college (and I'm not afraid to admit it) ... totally disappointed in the new selection.
There were some really good candidates to choose from (Fred Savage and Josh Groban were my top two picks) ... Seacrest just looked bored to be there. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if he "pulls a Strahan" and leaves after the first year or two.
Honestly, there were a few options on the table that were going to make me drop this show from the DVR scheduled recordings (Andy Cohen and Kelly's husband were two other "no thank yous") ... Now, I'm only gonna check it out if there's an interesting guest (like all the other talk shows).
P.S. Has there been any word as to why this announcement was so "out of the blue"? Neither Kelly nor Gelman made any mention that a permanent co-host had been selected during last week’s shows ... In fact, last I heard, they were thinking about holding off any announcement until after the summer (aol.com)!
