Hypothetically, if, say, I wanted to rate someone who was, shall we say, "in control" of this board, could said person trace that rating back to me, or is it anonymous? You know, hypothetically?

For example, I have been "rated" twice, and have a score of 9.somethingorother... Now, seeing as how it's been twice, technically I should either be an even number, or something.5? How does the weird percentage work itself out?
Is it possible to add the rating stats (rating & number of) to the user profile screen? I'd like to check on mine now & then, and don't really want to go to Wienerlist -> sort by rating -> try to find myself.

I was wondering about the same thing. We are guilty of assuming that a user would *only* use whole numbers for ratings.
Or maybe, just maybe there's more going on here than meets the eye.
Maybe there's some checking to see whether someone is caustically running around giving "friends" 10s and everyone else 0s. Or bombing certain people's every post with 0s. Or maybe there's checking on signal to noise for both rater and ratee. Or maybe ratings are perturbed by the post count of the rater or ratee. Or maybe...I've got way more important things to think about than this.

This is kind of interesting, Zed. Did you conceive this as another way to police the board? Thinking that if common decency can't make someone a good poster, then maybe the motivation of winning another internet pissing contest will? (cf., the early rank/title/post count imbrogilios).

1) Purely as an exercise in adapting acmlm's code to this board, mostly, but also
2) Rating people is actually quite satisfying - more than I ever dreamed it would be. It's also kinda interesting to look at all your ratings after you've rated, say, fifty or a hundred people and see how they all line up.
3) Like I said, some day I might find another use for the ratings. That'll probably take me a while, though, and Guru has suggested some other code projects for me to work on in the meantime (no, I won't share. Later)
