Hope I got that French right...The Montreal Alouettes won the Grey Cup this evening, defeating the Edmonton Eskimos 25-16 on Edmonton's own frozen field.
As always, the championship match was exciting and the final was in doubt until a missed 2-point convert for Edmonton in the final minute.
Hopefully, the interest in the CFL, which has been on a hell of a roll this year(even, unbelievably, in Toronto), will continue into the 2003 season.
and they used to be the Baltimore Stallions, right?
huzza for them....shame they had to leave the USA, but oh well...
Wrestling has been rhyming with ass. I miss shows and it makes me all shades of ambivalence. WWE is starting to suck again. The crops? Jeezum Spice! Someone stole my crops. What in the ham fat is going on. That's just poo-doo! That's just my 2.4856 Yen.
I have no idea why Calvillo was the game MVP. 11 for 31? Ricky Ray had better numbers in the losing effort. Pat Woodcock and Jermaine Copeland were far better candidates for that.
You had to love the strangeness of a blocked punt being turned into a pass interference call. Only in the CFL.
The wrestched field conditions hampered the quality of the game, but the drama was there, and that's all that one can ask for. A fun game, but it can't be ranked even close to the classic from 1989. As for the future, and speaking as a fan of the Tabbies, I'm worried about the situation in Hamilton.
Who? Who on that roster is as stable as he is. Hernandez is on and off again hurt. Gronk just wants to party. The other WR are just there. Wes was their best receiver and now they have another white boy that is pretty fragile.
