I can't believe it. I think all of the Eastern coaches thought "I'll take Pierce and probably everyone else will pick LeBron."

Looking at the stats of LeBron, Pierce, and Redd...

Pierce: 22.9 points, 5.5 assists, 6.8 rebounds 1.6 steals on .402 shooting

Redd: 22.1 points, 2.3 assists 5.0 rebounds 1.0 steal on .445 shooting

LeBron: 20.8 points, 5.9 assists, 5.9 rebounds 1.48 steals on .414 shooting

If I'm a Cavs fan (or an ESPN employee), I'd be more upset that Redd got in over LeBron. Redd's having a great year offensively but he's pretty much a one dimensional player. And I'd be even more upset that this guy got voted in over LeBron (well, maybe as a Cavs fan, not an ESPN employee )...

Carter: 21.0 points, 4.6 assists, 4.7 rebounds 1 steal on .411 shooting.

LeBron has totally lived up to the high hype he got. Maybe he didn't shake a veterans' hand and now he's paying his dues

smark/net attack wienerville advisory is lowered to YELLOW alert - Elevated (Due to Lesner still being champ, Benoit winning the Rumble, but HHH as champ is still a threat) 1/27

Its not written that the coaches have to kiss ass and put anyone in just because they are number one picks. If the fans wanted to see these guys so bad they would have voted them in.

They arent league saviors no matter how much foolish hype they got last summer, they are good rookies. Thats why they have a rookie game.

very good point; due to their being left out, le bron and anthony are going to make the rookie game a spectacle, and also hopefully light it up; thereby making the NBA look like a deep pool of talent, with future, present and past stars.......

Has the NBA decided to adopt Bill Simmons' idea for a game of HORSE at All-Star Weekend yet?

Wait…if it’s MLK Jr. Day AND Pat Patterson’s Birthday…who gets the token win here?-- Matt "Excalibur05" Hocking on a match between Mark Henry and Rico

MH: What’s a clever way to say that I have a penis?
CJ: Uh…Mark, nobody’s going to buy that shirt.
MH: How about if I say that I’ve got…a…uh…?
CJ: Coming up with T-Shirt ideas is hard Mark, why not leave it to the WWE marketing department.
MH: I know! I’ve got it!
CJ: Got what?
MH: Stank! That’s Mah Stank! I’m gonna make a fortune!!
CJ: “That’s Mah Stank”?
MH: On the front it’ll say “Can You Smell It?” and on the back it’ll say “That’s Mah Stank”. Everybody’ll buy it because they’ll think it’s a Rock shirt.
CJ: You know…you might be on to something there, sad to say.
MH: I can’t wait to show mah stank to Trish.

You know, I have a feeling that Spanky didn’t quit, he was fired. Why? So they could repackage Mark Henry as “Stanky.” Think about THAT!

Gotta agree there. It seems that the ESPN people are the only ones putting up a fuss about LeBron not making it. Considering they've been hyping him and showing him play before he got out of high school, it's not surprising.

BTW, it seems that the Hornets might hold Baron Davis out until after the all star game, so Lebron could still get in as an injury replacement.

Can someone explain to me how Lebron wasn't voted in as a starter by the fans? I mean, I wasn't surprised to learn that he wasn't selected as a reserve (go Pierce!) but I was CERTAIN at the beginning of the year that James would accumulate a Yao-like number of votes to make it into the starting five ... What happened?

It's not a case of LeBron being a number one pick and that's that, nor is it really even a question of the hype that they've gotten. By that rationale, Glenn Robinson should have been an All-Star in 1994. It's because he absolutely deserves to be there. You could say he's having a better all-around year than Redd, but that's where it gets debatable.

Maybe a little bit of it stems from the fact that having him in the game wouldn't hurt ratings any, but that's a minimal point. Besides, sometimes I get the feeling that the NBA throws out these little test balloons on purpose to see what the reaction is.

And by the way, Mr. Apostrophe is your friend. Don't be afraid of him.

I was amazed that the fans didn't pick for Lebron considering the hype, but he should have some how gotten in as a reserve any how. He fell short of Iverson, which totally makes sense, and McGrady, who I think he could have managed to defeat. Oh well. No loss for me, because it looks like James is one of those players who'll start for the next several years to come anyhow.

Well, did YOU vote for him?

The fact is, Coaches lean toward veterans when it comes to reserves. LeBron and Carmelo have many years ahead of them to play in All-Star games. Whats wrong with treating them like the rookies that they are?

Just because they are rookies doesn't mean LeBron and Carmelo aren't talented and deserving of All-Star status. I have seen enough Cavs games this year where LeBron just takes over the game and carries the team on his back.

However, I am not so upset due to the fact that rockdotcom mentioned - he *will* be in the All-Star game for years to come. Also joining him will be Carlos Boozer - as LeBron continues to get better this will free up Booze to have some monster games as well. He will be the Pippen to 'Bron's Jordan.

It is finally good to be a Cavs fan again. We've been pining since Price dribbled the ball off his foot in the East Finals of '92.

If Lebron James complains and whines he didn't make it to the All-Star Game, he ain't the real deal. You see, he can put up all the impressive stats he wants, the face of the matter is that those stats haven't translated into wins yet. The reason why Redd is an All-Star is because the Bucks are playoff contenders (Go Figure). So it would seem kinda stupid if there were no All-Stars from winning teams (Unless of course you are the Denver Nuggets). Plus Lebron is only 19. If he is truly Jordan-esque he has nearly 20 years ahead of him to make his mark.

Bottom Line: Lebron James is the real deal. He didn't make it, and sure he is disappointed, but he isn't complaining... publicy at least. He's focused and ready to play the team game and help the Cavs out of the gutter of the EASTERN Conference. Unlike Carmelo (http://sports.yahoo.com/ nba/news?slug=knight- melomillerloseinallstarwa& prov=knight& type=lgns) LeBron has team play all over him. But I still have love for Melo's game and ll, but damnit kid, stop bitchin'.
