I actually broke down last month and watched Royal Rumble. Angle had a fantastic match, and the rumble was great, well...the first half was great at least. Judging from the results I didn't really miss much especially with Edge being out of commission for the scheduled six man and some of WWE's best wrestlers and performers like Booker T, The Guerreros, Rey Mysterio not even being on the card. Did tonight's show smack of glorified RAW? What was with all the very short matches and less than 90 minutes of bell to bell action in a 3 hour PPV?

You obviously didn't read the results of the same PPV that I watched. With the exception of the HHH/Steiner match, it was an excellent card, in my opinion. The crowd was hot all through the night (which has become the norm when they show is in Canada). Austin's return was done great, the new heel Rock advanced the character just a little bit more. And best of all....MATTITUDE!!! Overall, I thought it was a great show!

Heel Rock, Evil Refs, return of Austin, Mattitude gets gold, Jericho gets cheered and a very good Big Show match
I really enjoyed this ppv and got far beyond my money's worth for Austin's return (and the return of the talking watch!) the awesomeness that is Heel Rock.
so sue me, I liked the ppv. I thought Taker/Big Show was much better than expected. Any time Taker breaks out Lucha and UFC in the same match, you know it's on. Taker looks to be in better shape than normal too. Steiner/HHH was what I expected, made better by the drinking game we invented. Any time Steiner clotheslined someone or suplexed someone, we drank. Rock/Hogan was fun, but way too short. I loved when Rock had Hogan's bandanna on and was beating him with Hogan's belt. That was classy! Match of the night was the lightspeed handicap match. Benoit suplexing Team Angle into each other was my moment of the night.

And amazingly, they didn't stop all night. I figured, yea it's cute, but they can't hold it up during a whole PPV. They somehow did it and will continue to do it tonight I'm sure.
And to go back to the original post, you really shouldn't judge a PPV based on reading results. You have to witness the damn things, or you'll miss out a lot. You 'caved in' and ordered the Rumble? Are you TRYING to avoid watching WWE or something? I think most of us at least try to watch the shows or at least don't consider it "caving in" when we order a PPV.

And my response of "Four!" was based on an old Razor Ramon match. During a match where Razor had obtained several two counts on his opponent, Razor once again covered his opponent and only received a two count. He turned to the referee, who held up two fingers and yelled, "Two!" Razor then held up four fingers and yelled, "Four!"
