The Cubs are still planning on Ryan Freaking Dempster as closer. Yikes.
Good article about them in some baseball magazine I read in the grocery store last night - ok, I know that is unspecified - but it basically said, "if wood or Prior make it back, cool, but we're not depending on them" Good thought.
But Ryan Dempster? Ryan DEMPSTER? I never thought I would say this, but is Joe Borowski available?

Alas, Joe Borowski is likely to be closing for the Indians this year in light of Keith Foulke's retirement.
Once Dempster implodes at least they have Howry in the pen, who can be serviceable at least. If not him then maybe Eyre can close.
And as for Balsa Wood...nah, it's just not worth it.
It was almost one year to the day that I was arguing with people...they wanted to trade Zambrano and keep Prior.
Wood may be balsa, but at least it seems like he wants to pitch.
